Meanwhile in Muskville, and across the #GQP disgrace on display (nee House of Representatives)

News aggregated news highlight, across Twitter, Mastodon, and "Farce News" (with a cartoon)

From VOA national correspondent Steve Herman:

PERSPECTIVE ON THE "Big Vote" in the #GQP / House (now on to round 9, proving the idea of 'insanity' being repeated...)

Eighth round results of roll call vote for House speaker:

Jeffries (D) - 212
McCarthy (R) - 201
Donalds (R) - 17
Hern (R) - 2
Trump - 1
(One member voting present)

And from "Farce News" (just slightly different from the actual Farcical #disinformation of #GQP / #Fox & fiends...

MEANWHILE, in #Twitter / #Muskville sandbox land...

#Twitter may lose its #SafeHarbor protection because it's not responding to #takedown notices for repeat #copyright infringers.

Twitter Hit With $228.9m Copyright Infringement / Repeat Infringer Lawsuit

The article doesn't say so, but it seems that Twitter isn't responding to the takedown notices as US law requires ("expeditiously") because of the #Musk layoffs.
This is big. #SocialMedia platforms cannot operate in the US without a safe harbor from copyright lawsuits. It's as if Musk sawed off the wings of his plane to save weight.
