My Central Park Spot

Here is an image from a few days ago, following our "cyclone bomb"/blizzard snow storm in New York.
This little covered bench on the water - I guess technically a pergola - has been my 'power spot' nearly forever.

Now a bit desolate-looking covered in snow, you cannot see it but under the snow at its edge is the Central Park Lake, and when I first came across this sight it was summer, and a couple had stopped there with their rowboat. I took a photo in 1980 (before 'social media') but eventually it got seen by someone who wanted it as a book cover. That is this same spot, in spring:

The book is titled "One Day's Perfect Weather: More Twice Told Tales" - short stories by Daniel Stern (SMU Press). And it was.

I walk often in Central Park and this is but one little alcove in a huge expanse of trails and lake, castles, playgrounds, zoo & more.
But this spot always brings me a smile. So, thirty-five years later, graduating from Kodachrome to digital, I revisited the same spot, in autumn this time:

Finally, another 7 years and another season later... this winter visit. Photo is from this week (Feb 2022), but for post's sake, let's say it's

Sometime(s) in Winter
