You're welcome. :))

I've been trying to de-clutter my office from shelves and boxes of now-ancient memorabilia.
"You know you're old when...." If you remember some of these magazines.... #vintage. And here we are.

Context, these were 'gold rush' days of online communities, pre FB... Internet 2.x ...

And this was not a bad prediction.. from the first June of the Millennium., and already things like #online #privacy were a big concern.

A good excuse to sneak back a Spinning Wheel song, because, y'know, what goes up, must come down,
A few other songs come to mind on that topic. I do have more images of #media of the #Y2K era in #tech.... (modems, anyone?)

And, speaking of circles and history..... And buckets.
#Stonehenge, #Freud & #Ferris ✓ And #Vienna too.

Pt. 1: London Eye / Freud / Stonehenge
Pt. 2: THIS Ferris Wheel - Located within The Prater, what many would describe as an 'amusement park' with grand-scale rides, including some aerial wonders as well as bumper cars and the iconic Wiener Riesenrad Giant Ferris wheel. Plus a park full of food.

"The Giant Ferris Wheel was built to mark the 50th jubilee of Emperor Franz Joseph. At the time of its opening (21 June 1897), Vienna's Giant Ferris Wheel was the tallest of its kind at 64.75 meters." - wien.info - And Meanwhile... the wheel spins on.

My Central Park Spot

Here is an image from a few days ago, following our "cyclone bomb"/blizzard snow storm in New York.
This little covered bench on the water - I guess technically a pergola - has been my 'power spot' nearly forever.

Now a bit desolate-looking covered in snow, you cannot see it but under the snow at its edge is the Central Park Lake, and when I first came across this sight it was summer, and a couple had stopped there with their rowboat. I took a photo in 1980 (before 'social media') but eventually it got seen by someone who wanted it as a book cover. That is this same spot, in spring:

Central Park Rowboat

The book is titled "One Day's Perfect Weather: More Twice Told Tales" - short stories by Daniel Stern (SMU Press). And it was.

I walk often in Central Park and this is but one little alcove in a huge expanse of trails and lake, castles, playgrounds, zoo & more.
But this spot always brings me a smile. So, thirty-five years later, graduating from Kodachrome to digital, I revisited the same spot, in autumn this time:

CP Boat 2 - Autumn

Finally, another 7 years and another season later... this winter visit. Photo is from this week (Feb 2022), but for post's sake, let's say it's

Sometime(s) in Winter

Today is the last day of #BritishSummerTime or #BST for this year and the clocks will go back to #SolarTime or #GMT tomorrow. I always find this transition rather grim as suddenly as it's suddenly getting dark in mid afternoon. But really, there shouldn't be any need for #DaylightSaviingTime at all. We should keep solar time all year around and then the transition would be more gradual and bearable and we would still have the possibility of getting up when it's light rather than before #sunrise. You can't wish away geography.
