George F. Kennan I think it is the beginning of a new Cold War

#kennan #georgefkennan #nato #russia #usa #1996 #1997 ">A Fateful Error - The New York Times (1997)

By GEORGE F. KENNAN
In late 1996, the impression was allowed, or caused, to become prevalent that it had been somehow and somewhere decided to expand NATO up to Russia's borders. This despite the fact that no formal decision can be made before the alliance's next summit meeting, in June.

The timing of this revelation -- coinciding with the Presidential election and the pursuant changes in responsible personalities in Washington -- did not make it easy for the outsider to know how or where to insert a modest word of comment. Nor did the assurance given to the public that the decision, however preliminary, was irrevocable encourage outside opinion.

But something of the highest importance is at stake here. And perhaps it is not too late to advance a view that, I believe, is not only mine alone but is shared by a number of others with extensive and in most instances more recent experience in Russian matters. The view, bluntly stated, is that expanding NATO would be the most fateful error of American policy in the entire post-cold-war era. (...)

Yyyyyup! tests were ready in 2017.
Not only that, COVID19 appeared, by that name, in a UK Gov document listing scary infectious diseases in 2015.
Not only that, the SARS-Cov2 viral line was fraudulently patented in 2002, and no significant changes since then.
Buuuuut if you’re actively avoiding looking at clues, these three pieces of information will plink off your eyeballs.

What about sunrise? What about rain? What about all the things That you said we were to gain?
What about killing fields? Is there a time? What about all the things That you said was yours and mine?
Did you ever stop to notice All the blood we've shed before? Did you ever stop to notice This crying Earth, these weeping shores?
Ah, ooh Ah, ooh

What have we've done to the world? Look what we've done What about all the peace That you pledge your only son?
What about flowering fields? Is there a time? What about all the dreams That you said was yours and mine?
Did you ever stop to notice All the children dead from war? Did you ever stop to notice This crying Earth, these weeping shores?
Ah, ooh Ah, ooh

I used to dream I used to glance beyond the stars Now I don't know where we are Although I know we've drifted far
Ah, ooh Ah, ooh Ah, ooh Ah, ooh

Hey, what about yesterday? (What about us?) What about the seas? (What about us?)
The heavens are falling down (What about us?) I can't even breathe (What about us?)
What about Africans? (What about us?) I ain't even through (What about us?)
What about nature's worth? (Ooh, ooh) It's our planet's womb (What about us?)

What about animals? (What about it?) Turned kingdom to dust (What about us?)
What about elephants? (What about us?) Have we lost their trust? (What about us?)
What about crying whales? (What about us?) Ravaging the seas? (What about us?)
What about forest trails? (Ooh, ooh) Burnt, despite our pleas (What about us?)

What about the holy land? (What about it?) Torn apart by creed? (What about us?)
What about the common man? (What about us?) Can't we set them free? (What about us?)
What about children dying? (What about us?) Can't you hear them cry? (What about us?)
Where did we go wrong? (Ooh, ooh) Someone tell me why (What about us?)

What about baby boy? (What about it?) What about the days? (What about us?)
What about all their joy? (What about us?) What about the man? (What about us?)
What about the crying man? (What about us?) What about Abraham? (What about us?)
What about death again? (Ooh, ooh) Do we give a damn? Ah, ooh Ah, ooh Ah, ooh

"The Most Unwanted Song" (optional version with score) is close-to 22 minutes of your life that you'll never get back if you listen to it in its entirety.

"The Most Unwanted Song" is an "avant-garde" novelty song created by artists Komar and Melamid and composer Dave Soldier in 1997. The song was designed to incorporate lyrical and musical elements that were annoying to most people. These elements included bagpipes, cowboy music, an opera singer rapping, and a children's choir that urged listeners to go shopping at Walmart. (Wikipedia)

They also made "The Most Wanted Song". Less unique. Also less Walmart.
