Art by Bob Dylan
It's not dark yet, but it's getting there. I know Dylan will be gone soon..knocking on Heaven's Door. I'm up in the night, crying already, just thinking about it.
This is an odd album, but he can sing and record whatever songs he damn well pleases. They are old classic songs - that mean something to him.

Thank you who/however this came to me...

A Look at a Slice of Frank Zappa's Life; Discussion with Moon Zappa

Perfectly in sync with the #psych #Music #biography #perspective such as seen with "Glimpses", and various memoirs and articles/interviews about the 'real-deal' of relationships and #context for some big celebrities - like #Dylan and #Band, as well as #BrianWilson and family, and some other well-known performers.

This one is very 'easy-listening', a spotlight (vicariously) on the life of #FrankZappa and #MoonZappa, in the aftermath of a 40-year anniversary of Frank's only commercial "radio song". So for teen-agers, he was upstaged by his 14-yr-old daughter! Her reflections:

Valley Girl

A 29-minute interview, where Zappa reflects very thoughtfully and soberly, reflections & responses to some very good questions.

Think you may enjoy this, @V. T. Eric Layton if you've not seen it. Another "glimpse" from someone who knows (like Densmore!)

  11. Jack-A-Roe – New York City, New York 11/17/1993 54:03

This is a compilation I’ve assembled of live performances between Dylan’s albums Good As I Been To You (1992) and World Gone Wrong (1993), which are two of my favorite records. Missing tracks because Dylan has not played them live include Frankie & Albert, Canadee-i-o, Sittin’ on Top of the World, Step It Up and Go, Arthur McBride, Diamond Joe, Froggie Went a Courtin’, World Gone Wrong, Love Henry, Broke Down Engine, Stack A Lee and Lone Pilgrim.

Little Maggie has only been played once and Blood In My Eyes, Ragged & Dirty and Jack-A-Roe were only played during the Supper Club shows. Most of the material was played during the early 90's, except for some performances of Delia, You're Gonna Quit Me and Tomorrow Night (which was played once outside of '93-'94 in 1998). Dylan performed Two Soldiers beginning in the late 80's and his last performance of it was in 1994, which is included in this compilation.

And back to the buckets and lists....

This one, ✓

STONEHENGE AT DAWN

Not much sun to see at sunrise today, but the reason why so many say "it's a sundial" is because at sunrise & sunset there's an amazing view with various of the arches and "pointer" stones all lined up. Cosmic. Beautiful. And of course, at solstice time, stunning.

So among the buckets of long-stached bucket list items, this was a success. But for here, lots of rain gear needed as well, because "I've seen sun and I've seen rain"... and on his day I've seen...

#### Buckets of Rain
So I'm wet, but smiling. (Ah-choo!)

And… 2/2 - Randy Newman examples

This is the other song praised by Dylan and mentioned in the article. They have a studio version in the article. This is live, just

Louisiana 1927

What has happened down here is the winds have changed
Clouds roll in from the north and it started to rain
Rained real hard and it rained for a real long time
Six feet of water in the streets of Evangeline

The river rose all day
The river rose all night
Some people got lost in the flood
Some people got away alright
The river have busted through clear down to Plaquemines
Six feet of water in the streets of Evangelne

Louisiana, Louisiana
They're tyrin' to wash us away
They're tryin' to wash us away
Louisiana, Louisiana
They're tryin' to wash us away
They're tryin' to wash us away

President Coolidge came down in a railroad train
With a little fat man with a note-pad in his hand
The President say, "Little fat man isn't it a shame what the river has done
To this poor crackers land."

Louisiana, Louisiana
They're tryin' to wash us away
They're tryin' to wash us away
Louisiana, Louisiana
They're tryin' to wash us away
They're tryin' to wash us away

Bob Dylan ~ Political World

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jg29g6D0sPs

We live in a political world Love don’t have any place We’re living in times Where men commit crimes
And crime don’t have a face

We live in a political world Icicles hanging down Wedding bells ring And angels sing
And clouds cover up the ground

We live in a political world Wisdom is thrown in jail It rots in a cell Is misguided as hell
Leaving no one to pick up the trail

We live in a political world Where mercy walks the plank Life is in mirrors Death disappears
Up the steps to the nearest bank

We live in a political world Courage is a thing of the past Houses are haunted Children unwanted
The next day could be your last

We live in a political world The one we can see and feel But there’s no one to check It’s all a stacked deck
We all know for sure that it’s real

We live in a political world In the cities of lonesome fear Little by little You turn in the middle
But you’re never sure why you’re here

We live in a political world Under the microscope You can travel anywhere And hang yourself there
You always got more than enough rope

We live in a political world Turning and trashing about As soon as you’re awake You’re trained to take
What looks like the easy way out

We live in a political world Where peace is not welcome at all It’s turned away from the door To wonder some more
Or put up against the wall

We live in a political world Everything is hers and his Climb into the frame And shout God’s name
But you’re not even sure what it is

Brrr...
Temps quickly rising from 10 to 30 (F), windy... and I'm just hearing the arrival of the first expected "freezing rain" drops.

And this dropped in too. Into mind. [Note for next rainy day: "I just dropped in to see what condition..."]. Meanwhile...

A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall

WRITTEN BY: BOB DYLAN

Oh, where have you been, my blue-eyed son?

Oh, where have you been, my darling young one?

I’ve stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains

I’ve walked and I’ve crawled on six crooked highways

I’ve stepped in the middle of seven sad forests

I’ve been out in front of a dozen dead oceans

I’ve been ten thousand miles in the mouth of a graveyard

And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, and it’s a hard

And it’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

Oh, what did you see, my blue-eyed son?

Oh, what did you see, my darling young one?

I saw a newborn baby with wild wolves all around it

I saw a highway of diamonds with nobody on it

I saw a black branch with blood that kept drippin’

I saw a room full of men with their hammers a-bleedin’

I saw a white ladder all covered with water

I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken

I saw guns and sharp swords in the hands of young children

And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard

And it’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

And what did you hear, my blue-eyed son?

And what did you hear, my darling young one?

I heard the sound of a thunder, it roared out a warnin’

Heard the roar of a wave that could drown the whole world

Heard one hundred drummers whose hands were a-blazin’

Heard ten thousand whisperin’ and nobody listenin’

Heard one person starve, I heard many people laughin’

Heard the song of a poet who died in the gutter

Heard the sound of a clown who cried in the alley

And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard

And it’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

Oh, who did you meet, my blue-eyed son?

Who did you meet, my darling young one?

I met a young child beside a dead pony

I met a white man who walked a black dog

I met a young woman whose body was burning

I met a young girl, she gave me a rainbow

I met one man who was wounded in love

I met another man who was wounded with hatred

And it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard

It’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

Oh, what’ll you do now, my blue-eyed son?

Oh, what’ll you do now, my darling young one?

I’m a-goin’ back out ’fore the rain starts a-fallin’

I’ll walk to the depths of the deepest black forest

Where the people are many and their hands are all empty

Where the pellets of poison are flooding their waters

Where the home in the valley meets the damp dirty prison

Where the executioner’s face is always well hidden

Where hunger is ugly, where souls are forgotten

Where black is the color, where none is the number

And I’ll tell it and think it and speak it and breathe it

And reflect it from the mountain so all souls can see it

Then I’ll stand on the ocean until I start sinkin’

But I’ll know my song well before I start singin’

And it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard

It’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall
