The German company Rheinmetall has raised the price of 155 mm calibre ammunition from €2,000 to €3,600 per piece since the start of the conflict in #Ukraine, Die Welt writes.

The Bundeswehr has signed a contract with the company to supply about 333,000 artillery shells worth €1.2 billion to both itself and Kiev by 2029, the newspaper reports.

It's a lucrative business, time to test all the weapons and the obidient public will happily pay for it, increase the age of retirement to 65 or 67? No problem, lets give more to Ukraine and enrich the french military industries at the cost of our taxes and badly needed funds for schools and slums.

War is a racket and Ukraine war is the greatest opportunity to steal from the public and enrich the companies and corrupt politicians.

But hey, I must be a paid Putin agent to point out these issues, the rest of the 7,9B inhabitants of the earth don't count, the only thing that matters is Ukraine and fighting Russians to the last man alive.

Next is tactical nukes? Nerve agentse? anthrax? Alternative is Russia winning the war, so there are no limit how much "we" give to #Ukraine at any cost.

EU officials attack Joe Biden over sky-high gas prices, weapons sales and trade as Vladimir Putin’s war threatens to destroy Western unity.

Top European officials are furious with Joe Biden’s administration and now accuse the Americans of making a fortune from the war, while EU countries suffer. 

“The fact is, if you look at it soberly, the country that is most profiting from this war is the U.S. because they are selling more gas and at higher prices, and because they are selling more weapons,” one senior official told POLITICO. 

The explosive comments — backed in public and private by officials, diplomats and ministers elsewhere — follow mounting anger in Europe over American subsidies that threaten to wreck European industry. The Kremlin is likely to welcome the poisoning of the atmosphere among Western allies.

Hartung says the administration has followed an “outmoded ideology” that necessitates the U.S. achieve global military dominance through weapons sales. “There’s a lot of money at stake and it shapes policy in ways that are detrimental to human rights and peace and stability,” says Hartung, who also details the influence of the weapons lobby on government policy.
