Storming the Ferrix Tower
So, you're a Stormtrooper and you're walking up the spiral stairs. And it's like GONG GONG GONG. And it's not too bad at first but man, as you get near the top it's just ringing and ringing in your helmet.
I mean, it's insane. GONG!!!! GONG!!!! GONG!!!!
It's the damn worst thing you've ever heard, and you were a test subject for Dr. Gorst. Man.
GONG!!!!! GONG!!!!! GONG!!!!
Okay, you're getting dizzy and you're just numb and dazed from the noise. You contemplate pulling off your helmet but that'll just make it even worse if you can imagine it. You can't, though. You can't imagine anything worse than this.
GONG!!!!!!!! GONG!!!!!!! GONG!!!!!
So you finally get to the top and this madman is just pounding away and if you were thinking straight you'd realize he's got SPF 1,000,000 level hearing protection but you aren't thinking straight so you're like, "Wait, give me second to---"
aaaaaaaaaahhhhh
You're last thought is, "What, no safety railing? WTF is wrong with this galaxy?"

Before there was Hope in The Galaxy, there was ANDOR

Luthen's methods for bullying Lonni back into line are not actually optimal. That's not how you build loyalty and belief in the cause. Zelenskii visiting Kherson? That's an example of the sort of leadership that builds loyalty, belief, and trust.
Luthen could have instead built up camaraderie. Lonni feels alone? He is alone. But he's not the only one. Luthen could have told him that others are making the same sacrifices - Mon Mothma in particular. He doesn't have to mention her name, of course, or any compromising details. But he could have explained to Lonni how so many others are in his same boat, and we're all making these sacrifices for the same reasons.
Instead, he browbeats Lonni with implicit threats and gaslighting lies ... Luthen dismisses the value of what he fought so hard to give to the cause, all just to break down Lonni's ego and grip on reality.
Luthen could have uplifted Lonni but instead he pushes him down further into the abyss.
This is purposeful in the story telling. Luthen is NOT ACTUALLY GOOD AT THIS. His attempts to lie about Aldani insult the intelligence of Mon Mothma and create pointless (justified!) distrust from Saw. Luthen's judgement is already clouded by the dark side, and he's slipping. He's slipping.
I love how Mon Mothma's story feels almost like a mystery story because it engages us on a meta level. We're not just observing events in a fictional world, we are being told a story by story telling writers.
We are invited to ponder why the writers are introducing us to Perrin and Leida. We think, are they going to betray Mon later on? Where are their loyalties? We're looking at it through the lens of a cloak-and-dagger spy/political drama. Who will backstab who? Who is allied with who?
But no. This is a STAR WARS story. It's about the light and the dark. It's about Anakin's fall.
It wasn't about whether Perrin or Leida would betray Mon Mothma. It was always going to be about Mon Mothma betraying Leida, and thereby selling her own soul. Everything about the relationship between Mon and Perrin ... all to establish their culture's arranged marriage customs ... all to establish the stakes of what it means to sell out her own daughter. And what that means for Mon Mothma's own soul to do so.
It's great story telling because it embraces the relationship between the viewers and the writers. The art of story telling isn't just in the telling, it's in the give and take between the story teller and the understanding of the audience.
I just noticed this YouTube channel on analyzing the music, and it's mind blowing. Check out the Andor theme breakdown, and the episode music breakdowns. There's whole layers of stuff in Andor we're missing: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuCty0Ik_7PJZYxYxQjYZpA/videos
Stupid prediction time for me and Andor
SPOILERS FOR STAR WARS ANDOR
I find it almost amusing how everyone is so sure Luthen was telling the truth, when he was manipulatively lying left and right to Lonni. Luthen's character is more complex than that.
Luthen was LYING when he told Cassian Andor how much he meant to him. In fact, Cassian was disposable to him.
Luthen was LYING when he told Lonni that Kreeger's 50 men are disposable compared to him. It's the lie that Lonni needed to hear. Just like he was lying that he wasn't involved in Aldani, and he was lying when he said Dedra was wasting her time hunting "Axis".
The truth is that he's going to directly risk his own life and the future of the Rebellion to try and save those 50 men. Why? Maybe it's because he's "slipping". Maybe it's because he still cares despite all the years he's hardened himself to this supposed equation of inevitability.
This show ... the writing ... has already shown us that Luthen Rael is more complex than the simple clarity this speech suggests. It's a lie. It's a front. It's what Lonni Jung needs to hear, to get him moving and keep him moving.
We thought Syril Karn was Javert, but he's actually Gollum.
NO one takes him seriously. He's a despicable little obsessed creep. The protagonist spares his life for no good reason.
I feel like he's going to end up like Gollum ... despite his worst intentions, he's going to end up taking part in saving the day.
He's going to do something that fudges things up for Dedra and/or Cinta.
So, some people were wondering where Luthen was last episode. Answer:
Andy Serkis straight up consumed Stellan Skarsgard before filming, to power up for his scenes. It took a while for them to grow another Stellan Skarsgard in their clone vats.
Star Wars YouTube just dropped a 2 minute clip of Andor , presumably from tomorrow's episode.
This isn't an Andor promo trailer ... if you haven't been following the show, this won't clue you in at all. If you're already a fan, though, this clip is ... interesting.

Quick Andor note: AFAIR, the first and only time Clem Andor has been named in the show is when Maarva says she walked the long way around the square so she doesn't have to "see Clem hanging there".
That means that someone only watching the show wouldn't realize that "Clem" was the name of Cassian's adoptive father until episode 7, after we'd seen him using "Clem" as his cover name during the mission on Aldani.
When Luthen referred to how they hung Cassian's father, he only referred to him as his "father", not by name. But obviously he knew his name. So Luthen knew when Cassian chose that cover name, and he replied, "For the next five days you're Clem."
