This would be something #Nextcloud could really improve at some point, just upload the delta of the file and not the whole file.

Reproduce:
#Debian GNU/#Linux 12

head -c 5G Nextcloud/test/testfile.bin
head -c 200M > Nextcloud/test/testfile.bin

This will upload the whole 5G again.

Can someone check on Windows, does it do delta upload there?

How to Install Nextcloud on Debian 12

Nextcloud is open-source software for creating public and private file storage. It allows you to create your self-hosted services like Dropbox, Google Drive, or Mega.nz. Initially, it was created by the original owncloud developer Frank Karlitschek. In 2016, he forked the Owncloud project and created a new project with the new name "Nextcloud"

By now, the Nextcloud project is growing rapidly and becoming more than file hosting software. It's more like a file sync and content collaboration platform. Backed with many plugins, Nextcloud has become such a powerful collaboration software. You can install plugins for project management, video conferencing, collaborative editing, note-taking, email client, etc.

This tutorial will show you how to install #Nextcloud on a #Debian 12 server. You will install Nextcloud with Apache2 web server, MariaDB server, and PHP 8.2. Furthermore, you will also secure your #installation with UFW (Uncomplicated Firewall) and SSL/TLS certificates from Letsencrypt.

HDL Dump added to repository

Written by 0mega ☣ [pl] — October 23, 2023

"Another little utility has been added to my personal Debian repository. This evening I have added HDL Dump to my personal Debian repository. It allows owners of a PlayStation 2 gaming console to play games from an internal or external mass storage device. The manpage is a rough draft made with help2man and the accompanying git repo still lacks proper readme and license files, but it looks like it’s working for now. The current release can be downloaded from the releases page (AMD64 only) or from my Debian repository,"

Somehow a mount on my #Debian #Linux got unmounted, at least the content disappeared and "df -h" does not show that mount anymore.
Other mounts from the same disk are still there, mounting it again worked as well.

How can I find out when and why this happened? journal? What should I grep for?

Seems my #Laptop Power Management settings in #XFCE in #Debian 12 are not really taken into account, it looks like it is running (power LED is on) but it does not continue with uploads to Nextcloud for example. I am not sure how to figure out if that is only a #Nextcloud issue.

I could run a cronjob every 5 minutes that writes the output of 'date' to some file by >>, that would then have a gap if the computer goes into sleep, right?

Does anyone got some experience from importing a large amount of files into a Nextcloud (user)?

It seems to be possible to copy the files into the Nextcloud data folder and then run "occ files:scan --all" to get #Nextcloud to digest them.
Does that work well? Is there a better way? Webdav is sooooo slow to upload the files.
