Total population in Israel is 9,311,652.
- Earth is home to more than 1.9 billion Muslims. Islam is also the world's fastest-growing religion. The Islamic population is mainly split between 1.5 billion Sunni Muslims and 240-340 million Shia Muslims, with the remainder scattered among a few smaller denominations.
- As of 2023, the world's core Jewish population (those identifying as Jews above all else) was estimated at 15.7 million, which is approximately 0.2% of the 8 billion worldwide population.
- Today, Islam is a prominent religion in both Gaza and the West Bank. Most of the population in the State of Palestine are Muslims (85% in the West Bank and 99% in the Gaza Strip).
- Sunnis constitute 85% of Palestinian Muslims, of which the predominant is Hanafi, which is one of the four schools of Islamic law in Sunni Islam. Salafism took root in Gaza in the 1970s, when Palestinian students returned from studying abroad at religious schools in Saudi Arabia. A number of Salafi groups in Gaza continue to receive support and funding from Riyadh.

The Israeli military is using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify 37,000 targets that are related to Hamas.
So. Will Islamic countries who support Hamas, and other terrorists organization, use their own high tech AI to map out targets?
No more Low Tech digging of tunnels.
Machines can make the death decisions without the burden of human emotions.

#Redbarn #Beach in #East #Cork is closed to swimmers today following a sighting of the dangerous #Lion’s #Mane #jellyfish.
The red flags have been raised in the popular Youghal spot after the jellyfish, one of the largest species of jellyfish there is, was spotted in the water.
Most likely to be spotted in the waters of Ireland and the UK between June and late September, a sting from a Lion’s Mane jellyfish can be quite nasty, causing swelling, itching, burning, severe pain, and long red stripes that often blister.
All jellyfish possess stinging cells, “stingers”, on their tentacles. According to the HSE, brushing against tentacles can cause the release of these stingers which contain venom (poison).
“Depending on the type of jellyfish, the stingers may not be sharp enough and long enough to pierce the skin and the skin forms a natural barrier to most stings. More delicate areas, such as the eyes and lips, might be more easily pierced.” said a HSE spokesperson.
“However, the Lion’s Mane stinging cells are much sharper and can pierce skin easily resulting in a painful sting. Jellyfish stings in Ireland are not usually life-threatening and just require basic first aid and simple pain relief.”
What to do if you’re stung
If you do find yourself on the receiving end of a jellyfish sting, the advice is to head for the nearest chipper and get yourself some vinegar to rinse the area. Remove any visible tentacles, then soak the wound in hot water for 40 minutes.

We had a #cycletrip to #BudleighSalterton today, which is a nice round trip of 48 km. It was a very pleasant day, not too hot and with a refreshing breeze to keep you cool. Those of you in the know will be glad that I wore short trousers and so my pump could not get stuck in my trouser leg.
The #beach is made up of pebbles of various sizes ranging from the size of your hand (15-20 cm) down to less than a centimetre. The colours vary from #purple and #pink to #grey and #blue. Here's a typical assortment.
Looking out to #sea (the #EnglishChannel), you can see that the water is various colours too ranging from marine #blue and #green to #brown near the #shore where #sediment gets churned up. (Note, it is nothing to do with the current notorious practices of private water companies.)
Looking #west and #east respectively, you can see the #sandstone and #mudstone #geology of the #cliffs
Right up by the #sea, you can sea the small #waves lapping the #shore. I suppose this #photograph is technically a #selfie.
Finally, on the way home, I took a picture of the #cyclepath between BudleighSalterton and #Exmouth which stretches about 6 km and avoids motor traffic altogether. I can't think of many more pleasant routes to #cycle on.

Some people don't like cloudy days and that's understandable. The Sun will probably come out later anyway today but the underside of the #clouds today currently show undulations which means that the temperature variation with height is not uniform. There is low air pressure which is causing instability in the atmosphere and will draw in air from elsewhere. Currently the wind speed is about 30 km/h.

This morning around #sunrise I saw this view looking #East (obviously) and it was worth delaying my departure to work for a few minutes to take in this beautiful scene. I particularly like how the vivid colour of the #orange, #pink and #yellow #clouds contrast with the #silhouette of the #trees in the foreground.
