Pour en savoir plus sur cette première ascension, Stéphane Gal, historien à l’Université Grenoble Alpes, a embarqué avec lui les habitants du village voisin de Chichilianne, pour une ascension exceptionnelle. 530 ans plus tard, l’étude a permis de reconstituer les tenues et équipements de l’époque, pour finalement retrouver l’itinéraire qu’Antoine De Ville aurait probablement emprunté dans la paroi. Une aventure humaine et scientifique, documentée par Ludovic Veltz dans son film Retour au mont Aiguille.
