Just in from the BBC:

Whole pod of 77 #whales die in 'biggest mass stranding in decades'

Even more. It's awful to see.

"A new #film by #AbbyMartin exposing the world's biggest polluter: the US military.
#Earth's Greatest Enemy is a new #documentary film investigating the Pentagon's catastrophic toll on the planet–from carbon emissions, to toxic dumping, to habitat destruction and more, while highlighting the struggles against it. This will be the first ever piece of media that puts every facet of the Pentagon's pollution together into one indictment. But funds are needed to complete post-production. "

And here's a chart showing the #chemical #weapons dumped at sea. Just look at how many surround the UK:

And grubby industrialists need to keep their grubby mitts off the krill.

#BubblenettingIn their #Antarctic feeding grounds, humpback #whales gorge on fat-rich krill for months, building up their blubber reserves for the challenging journey to tropical breeding grounds. Using a remarkable technique known as ‘bubble netting’, they skillfully trap their prey with precision.

Whale Watch Ireland. ** Good News.

Kerry crew.. We haven’t had activity off the Dingle peninsula like this in years. With 7-8 humpbacks, up to 10 fin whales, Minke whales, common dolphins, bluefin tuna and thousands of seabirds. After a few lean years here it’s been a reminder of how a healthy ocean should look, a dynamic environment teeming with life. How if we protect our coastal habitats and forage fish stocks these pockets of activity could become more widespread again.

Some years ago I heard an interview with some US-tech-prodigy from 60's (Rense? Brain-device inventor? Sorry, I don't have names atm.), and he gave a good hypothesis:

US and others began years ago using #ultra-low #EM [?] communication to/from #submarines.
This drives higher animals like whales and #dolphins #crazy.

Sperm Whale Asks Divers For Help Removing Trash Tangled In Its Mouth

Imagine that dental floss is attached to a bunch of old food and other stuff, wrapped around the bottom of your jaw, and you don’t have any arms. Are you imagining it? Well, you might have an inkling of how a sperm whale felt in the Indian Ocean.

The poor creature approached a group of divers, seemingly asking for help.

The whale swam directly up to them, mouth agape and dragging all sort of detritus. When the diver cautiously approached it, it left its mouth open and allowed her to pluck the tangled pile out, piece by piece.
