Grief is a monster at first; but a friend after. That's what they say.
For Thomas, Grief is still a monster, whether he befriends it or not.

"Grief is like that annoying acquaintance who clings onto you despite knowing it's not wanted; and it shows up when you least expects it to. Some days we enjoy the memories, some days Grief comes and hit me like a brick," says Thomas. "Still, we have such fun together in reminiscence, in pain and despair, in beautiful tragedy; and ultimately, we ended up signing a dark contract together, ah ha ha..."

My priest, Thomas Benedicta relaxing at St Capitolina Abbey, monastery for Monks, with a ghost of his past. He has been grieving Casey's death for many years and is still struggling with survivor's guilt. He decides to relax here only because an old acquaintance, Sister Cessna said this place helped to alleviate her sorrows.
(Trivia: This place will no longer exist in 300 years to come, when Ragnarök happens.)

✨ :: 47-49 [RO] Bless the Dark Ones ::

My Ragnarök Online/iRO character, Thomas Benedicta the Archbishop (priest/cleric). He does exorcism... and even had one done onto him. :')

And yes, he blesses the demons, undeads, and ghosties. Blessing them reduces their formidability. He also likes to slow down their movements sometimes, reduce their defence against holy elements even more, or use a double-damage skill on them... Most priests won't waste their time on this petty moves, going straight for the kill. So, it might just be that Thomas likes to toy with his foes before exorcising them. Huh, never knew he was sadistic. x'D "I'm not sadistic," Thomas objects. "I am just playful when we're one-on-one, ah ha ha..." ┑(￣▽￣)┍

My dA friend mentioned Spirou when I was chatting with him and it brought back memories. So, I wanted to try draw in a Spirou-esque style. Apparently, I failed; but I decided to just mix in my usual style and keep this. It kinda reminds me of my Picayune, haha. I also realised that I changed the way I drew nose over the years. The Thomas drawing above is my originally-intended style. Rounded, not pointed.

My pal on dA introduced me to sugar skull (calavera) through her drawing of La Catrina. Sugar skulls are part of Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) celebration. I visited a few sites and I think this whole celebration is a nice concept.

I think Thomas would totally be into this Day if he was on our planet, haha. In fact, it might help him learn to view the passing of his beloved in a fresh perspective. Besides, he loves skulls and death stuff(?).

So, this drawing is just because I wanna draw Thomas and sugar skulls. Sorry guys, no face paint. I'm not good at decorative patterns and I don't wanna butcher this tradition. As it is, I don't think I even decorated the skulls well. x'D

Oh yeah, Whispersio gets a clay skull because Whispy does not eat anything but darkness and we don't want that white fabric to be stained with colourings, do we... Also, although it's day time, Mef's home is a beach town inside a cave, so it has no sunlight. Illuminated by fireworks. Whispy likes it.

✨ :: 47-41 [CTB] The Life After ::

Hey, everyone! It's been a while, hasn't it! Well, for me it felt like ages... Here's a Ragnarök Online fan art of my characters from my comic, 'Chasing Thomas Benedicta'. They're pretty much like my own OCs now to be honest, hahaha. The beauty of RPG characters, hehehe~

These are just some ideas of what their lives might be like, maybe after a year later or so.

Here you can see (from top-left):
- Mef reading a book (with pictures, ofc!) while a drunk Thomas comes by.
- Mef being teased by Rando as usual.
- Mef and pet, Li'l Row getting some sun after some trades with merchants there.
- Thomas and pet, Whispersio attending talks in Rachel temple to learn more on the goddess Freyja since he's switching to worshipping her than Odin.
- Kei holding his wife, Molly and his new kid so very dearly.
- Mef back then when he first learns how to sharpen his daggers.

This picture is originally a collection of sketches, me purging the trash art to make way for a worthy one. Unfortunately, it's not happening; and I do wanna make OC art, but my brain is dead when it comes to my own OCs. T_T I'm tryin'a get inspired but failing. :') So I figured I'd still upload whatever sketches I have, and this is it.

A simple sketchy one of my old (RO) character, Cessna the exorcist.
Although a custom game character, Cessna feels very much like an OC to me due to the fact that I gave her a proper name, a backstory, and a life. I renamed her from 'Setsuna' to 'Cessna' to remove anime vibes, lol.

I'd also like to take this chance to say...
I have finished drawing my RO doodly comic!!
It totals up to a hundred pages in the drawing book. Been workin on it since January. Now just need to edit the text in. Cessna is gonna be in this comic, too.

Cessna | High Priest | Level 99 of 99
Highest stat points: Intelligence (for mana)
Weapon: Evil Bone Wand
Cessna was a max-level High Priest who specialises in exorcisms. She was constantly on the hunt for the Dark Lord and his Dark Priest, particularly the latter. Sometimes, a certain young Archbishop seeks her for advice on his wavering faith.

:: 46-051 [RO] Lazy Afternoon ::

Ragnarök Online fan art! I'm currently having no idea for my own OC story, so I do this. Drawing RO fan art is much easier because the world concept is already all laid out with complete visual refs, unlike my own stuff, lol.

They are characters from my RO fan fiction, but this scene doesn't exist in the story. I just wanted to draw this, so you can say this really came straight from the heart, haha~ And Kei is telling Thomas to be careful because he doesn't trust Shadow Chasers, but Thomas seems to be fond of Mef, trusting him.

Characters:
- Mef the Shadow Chaser (rogue class, agile and sneaky)
- Thomas Benedicta the Archbishop (cleric class, exorcist with basic prayers)
- Kei Jang the Sniper (archer class, makes his own arrows than buy 'em)
- unnamed character in the background, 'the GX' (assassin class, known for their poisons and swiftness)

I decided to use more of the smooth pen brush for this to make it easier on myself to refer to their colour palettes, particularly Thomas' strawberry blond hair. I already have some RO colour swatches saved, but not enough. And I'm aware that the blushing Mef looks too girlish here, lol.

My RO game character, Archbishop Thomas Benedicta, back when his faith was wavering.

I kinda wish the religious job/class in RO were more... Norse than Christianity. That would make them so perfect. Anyway, I tried to find some relevant quotes from Norse religious texts (instead of Bible) since the people of Midgard mostly worship Odin (if not Freja); but ehhh the Norse didn't exactly have a written holy scripture of anything. The Poetic Edda is the one legend, and that quote has the vibe, so I took it.

:: 46-036 [RO] Resting Peacefully ::

Ragnarök Online fan art featuring my character, Archbishop Thomas Benedicta and a Shadow Chaser, Mef. Had this idea since a couple of months back when my artist block hit me, and only recently could I draw it out.

In-game music: [Divine Grace (v2)]

Thomas has an obsession for two things: skulls and crosses. The former is liquidable asset, and the latter is for protection. He tells the members of the church that when he dies, please put him together with his pet ghost, Whispersio in a coffin (with Whispy being in his own little coffin inside the bigger one), and bury him with the big cross he hangs behind his room door. Skulls can be sold to cover the funeral costs.

"But first, let me test my coffin out," he tells the church. They let him and went about their ways. Thomas goes into the coffin, bringing his huge cross from his room door, and lies down inside. "Ah, feels just like my bed in the storage room," he mutters to himself. It was comfortable enough that he fell asleep.

A figure stealthily approaches, emerging from the shadows upon having caught up with his target. He squats by the coffin, his weapon unsheathed. 'To die in your sleep ought to be merciful enough,' he thinks to himself as he looks at the sleeping Archbishop. He is supposed to have been done with the disposal of his target, but instead finds himself enjoying the serene look on Thomas' face.

(Other notes: I could not fit in things like skull, Holy Water, and Whispy in the coffin due to chibi proportions. x'D And Thomas is, at present, my comfort character. :') The carpeting is taken directly from my own in-game screenshot.)

Ragnarök Online fan art featuring my Archbishop, Thomas Benedicta and his beloved pet ghost, Whispersio.

Thomas spends his morning reading while enjoying some Holy Water that he bottled himself from the nearby lake. He also gives Whispersio some pet food. Whispersio eats Damp Darkness; it looks like black smoke. After this, Thomas will put his stole on and he will go to do some training against desert wolves.

That's... pretty much his life now.

"Where did you say you were from again...?" Thomas asks Vic.

What if Vic stepped through a rogue portal (a sudden portal with random destinations) and ended up in Midgard (that of Ragnarök Online)? o_O And for the heck of it, he meets my RO priest, Thomas Benedicta! xD I bet you he'd be in the midst of making holy water.

Thomas wouldn't be too weirded out at first because Vic's outfit is like that of a Mechanic’s (alternate version), or if he has a gun with him, he’s a Gunslinger. In terms of tech, Midgard’s like the Nexus in its glory days, so it should not be too hard for Vic to adapt. Besides, portals are such a norm there.

Still, some things will definitely be weird for Vic, like a priest having a pet ghost. Whispersio waves hi at Vic, but if it punches Vic, that's true friendship!

Misc:
I'm trying out a new brush set, 'Chalks for Children'. It's quite fun. I also avoided using ruler/line tool for the window for more squiggly-ness, haha.
