Though fallacy of division could also apply to your Plus post "I think I've spotted another common argument tactic".
What's true of the whole isn't true of the part, what's true of the part isn't true of the whole. The Paradox of Thrift is another well-known example, the Wiki page specifically mentions fallacy of composition. There's also Mancur Olson's "Logic of Collective Action" (a personal favorite), which addresses specifically the misalignments of personal and group objectives.
