I've been a soda junkie for as long as I can remember. In college I switched to diet because I'd weigh 300 lbs drinking >=2 L of full sugar soda a day. I'm starting my carb loading for Saturday's marathon so adding regular soda to my diet to help get to the 640 grams of carbs per day my coach prescribed. Even one can is too sweet for me. By the 3/4 mark I want to just pour the rest out. I still have a sweet tooth but just that much pure concentrated corn syrup is too much for middle aged me. Not looking forward to the up to 4-5 per day for the next few days. After the month of overeating Halloween candy and TG holiday food I'm actually looking forward to some leaning out over the next few weeks (minus Christmas Eve, Christmas, and NYE) #running #food

So…not only does my running coach think I can safely train up for a full marathon for the second half of December but wants to know what goal time I want to target. I’m finding it exhilarating and intimidating at the same time. Good times #running
I’ve been running this path under this tree all season. With autumn approaching it was the first time it didn’t have leaves. So I got to see this “interesting” feature that’s been just several feet above my head. Yikes! #running
The Strength Running Podcast guy, Jason Fitzgerald, just released a training and race day(s) tip video for the Disney Dopey Challenge Marathon series. The video title is misleading since it isn't about if it is "bad for runners" in general. I think that was addressing the concept of it's bad for runners looking to do a high performance/PR race throughout them. For that aspect he says if you are looking to do a performance race in the series it'll be best to pick the 5K or the Full Marathon. Best advice among several tips is to make sure to get some back to back long runs into the training. #running #disney #DopeyChallenge

My new running coach has me running by perceived effort not heart rate any longer. When I was focusing on Zone 2 work my biggest question was if heart rate drift during hot runs mattered. TL;DR maybe not but it depends. Very informative podcast. #fitness #running https://strengthrunning.com/2024/06/brady-holmer/
A running YouTuber I follow just finished the "Neveresting" Race. It's a race running the equivalent of Mt. Everest's height within 12 hours. Intense! I imagine this video is as close as I'd ever get to that. #running
Can I run the height of EVEREST in 12 Hours?
I was hoping May would be pretty strong except for planned lapses in diet for Memorial Day, family events, etc. Unfortunately I had major faltering in exercise and the return of the mindset why every day is the day not to workout. I successfully fought against it most days but not all. As I’m adding more intensive training with a running trainer I’m deciding how to practically build in full rest days but regain the daily exercise mindset #GoalAccountability #longevity #running
