Where is the freaking outrage? BREAKING: Civilian death toll of the Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza that was bombed by an Israeli airstrike has surpassed 500

Nothing, absolutely nothing justifies bombing a hospital. It's just unbelievable that in every conflict Israel been involved in, they bombeschools, refugee camps and hospitals and none of those disgusting charlatans who want to prosecute Putin ever raise their voice.

#s Israeli Airstrike on Gaza Hospital Kills More Than 500, Palestinian Officials Say

The attack on Al-Ahli Arab Hospital—founded in the 1880s by Anglican missionaries and funded largely by the European Union and Episcopal Church, according to a reverend there—occurred as aid workers already warned of a looming humanitarian collapse in Gaza. Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said he is looking into what happened at the hospital. The explosion comes during a week of escalating Israeli bombing in Gaza, following Hamas’s attacks on Israel on Oct. 7.

The writing of the article, like always, . make it less outrageous and as something that Israel "had the right to do" by calling it an "explosion" rather than bombing in the article.

This freaking assault against civilians has to stop. #Biden iasministration s directly responsible for these crimes because it's their bombs and their unconditional support of the fascist regime of Netanyahu that killed those people.

Sadly, this will go into history like all the other times Israel committed war crime and no one will ever remember it.

The EARN IT Act (S.3398) is an attempt to override The Communications Decency Act of 1996 (S230)

Wired: "It’s a Sneak Attack on Encryption--The crypto wars are back in full swing"

<br>
https://www.wired.com/story/earn-it-act-sneak-attack-on-encryption/

American Civil Liberties Union and Americans for Prosperity, joint response:

"EARN IT is an attack on encryption masquerading as a blow against underage porn. measure … would lead to a backdoor' in encrypted services, thereby jeopardizing the security of every individual. Technology experts and civil society organizations have repeatedly warned that backdoors could be exploited by bad actors and that no backdoor could guarantee only law-abiding officials have access.”

Media Alliance, a coalition of 25 organizations:

"The bill would fall far short of the goal of protecting children, while at the same time making all Americans less safe and less secure by potentially exposing everyone in society to substantially higher risk from malicious cyber actors, including hostile nation-states.”

ELECTRON FRONTIER FOUNDATION (EFF):

"Imagine an Internet where the law required every message sent to be read by government-approved scanning software. Companies that handle such messages wouldn’t be allowed to securely encrypt them, or they’d lose legal protections that allow them to operate.”

I will be posting more on this. It seems there are good reasons for this bill, lake making internet tech companies (faceBook and Google’s YouTube) responsible for the content they allow on their sites. It also allows and people to sue companies for such content. I’m all for that because it’s long past time we brought some balance back into the battle of individual rights vs. corporate rights. However, there are also serious risks to individual privacy and the potential to ban encryption altogether. That means this Bill is a knock on the door to permanent state surveillance.

Below is the first page of S.3398 which provides the purpose of the Bill and the main players who would ve heading the “Committee. We can stop right there. I have some concerns. They are circled in red.

To assist in online interactions, I'm hoping to do a compilation of useful info and links to rebut misconceptions some people may have. Feel free to add any links in comments so that I can update the post.

Basics:

Election is June 7, 2018

Find out your electoral district (aka riding): https://www.elections.on.ca/en/voting-in-ontario/electoral-districts.html

Make sure you're registered to vote: https://voterinformationservice.elections.on.ca/en/home

1.) Misconception: a vote for the NDP is a wasted vote, only the Liberals can stop Ford.

Polling shows that the NDP is now tied for second with the Liberals (in the mid-twenties) with the Cons in front in the mid-forties. And, polling shows that Wynne is deeply unpopular, whereas Horwath is very popular, giving the NDP the most room to grow.

Polling links:

b.) leader popularity --> http://www.570news.com/2018/04/28/ndps-horwath-shaping-top-challenger-ford-ontario-election/

2.) Misconception: I don't like Ford, but the NDP's promises are too expensive. Best to stick with the Liberals.

False. The Liberals, from their budget, pledged $29.4 billion in deficits over five years. The NDP, from their platform, pledged $18.1 billion for the same period. It's because the NDP believe in tax reform and the Libs do not, that the NDP can offer better services to us that are properly financed. Also, the Liberals numbers have been called into question by by Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk, whereas Kevin Page (former federal Parliamentary Budget Officer) reviewed the NDP's numbers and found them sound.

a.) deficit pledge numbers here, showing that the Liberal's #s are higher than the NDP's #s --> http://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/reevely-leaving-liberals-for-dead-andrea-horwath-out-lefts-kathleen-wynne-with-a-smile-on-her-face
b.) confirmation that Kevin Page feels the costing is "reasonable": http://ifsd.ca/web/default/files/Presentations/Reports/IFSD-Ontario%20NDP.pdf
c.) confirmation that Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk feels the Liberal's numbers are worse than pledged. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ontario-pre-election-auditor-general-report-finances-1.4634542

3.) Challenge from Ford supporters:
"You say that Ford plans to at least cut $6 billion from services, but he's never said this." The six billion figure comes from Patrick Browne's People's Guarantee. Ford actually plans to cut more than Browne did. The $6 billion figure is from the line "Savings from Value for Money Audit" in the People's Guarantee. The Guarantee is no longer on the web, but it's useful to know this to refute the claim that "Ford has never said this".

4.) Misconception: The Liberals and NDP are offering the same thing. False. The NDP is offering much better.

a.) Here's a Globe and Mail article that emphasizes the NDP is better: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/editorials/article-globe-editorial-the-ontario-ndp-goes-all-in-with-its-election/
b.) Here's an article I mentioned earlier that's good: http://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/reevely-leaving-liberals-for-dead-andrea-horwath-out-lefts-kathleen-wynne-with-a-smile-on-her-face
c.) If they go on about Ford being like Trump and hint strategic voting for the Liberals, then I suggest using this meme that I created: https://www.diasp.org/posts/98898ab025f6013697c5047d7b62795e
