I hit the jackpot!

Bought this hammer drill on the french site LebonCoin for 35 euro, it was supposed to come with 2 batteries, but was surprised to see 3 batteries in the box when I opened it.

Was hoping to fix at least one of the batteries so I can use it with the drill but none of them would charge.

Found out that the charger didn't work and when I opened it, I saw that a wire wasn't connected properly to the PCB, soldered it and tried to charge one of the batteries, and to my surprise, it works.

I will let it charge until it is full and then try it out. I'm really excited. 3 heavy duty batteries are 90 euro each when new.

I was planning not to buy anything until the end of the month, but with €0.99 shipping on second hand items, I broke my plans.

Buying a lot of used items from the French site LebonCoin.fr now that the shipping is only 1 euro until the end of this weekend.

Have been waiting for this since Christmas holidays and don't want to miss it.

Bought a used saw today!

One of the tools I was missing in my workshop was a good and solid round saw.

I have a small portable one but this make things so much easier to be able to cut things in angles quickly and clean.

TechMarkIT is a new South African online retail venture specialising in refurbished technology

Hirsch said that although consumers can buy second-hand tech goods through online classifieds websites, they are often reluctant to do so – they can’t be sure they’re not buying a dud, and there are security concerns when strangers have to meet to conclude a deal.
It is hoped that TechMarkIT will bring credibility to the used/refurbished technology market in South Africa. The company checks all the products it sells for defects and other problems, and also cleans them thoroughly before making them available for sale. It has a 45-point checklist to ensure everything is in working order, including the battery (if the product has one). If the battery is showing signs of age, it is replaced before being sold. There’s a warranty of six months on goods sold, though this excludes battery-related problems.

Essentially, this would also help cut down on e-waste.
