Always thought that Margaret Atwood wrote trash novels or chick flics until I watched the film, then read the book.
It's right up there with 1984 and the like.
#Margaret #Atwood , sorry about my former bias. What a woman!, what a powerful novelist!

Miami now has a Banned Books Club - founded by a 16-year-old
Mogul, a junior at the Academy for Advanced Academics, says she founded the Banned Books Club because she wanted a place to dig into authors like James Baldwin and Toni Morrison — and she didn’t know many people her age who read for pleasure.
“I just want to start with reading books and discussing why they're banned and what we think of that. Which for me, I know I don't like censorship,” she said.

The book-burning preacher from Tennessee. Honestly, I’m not sure why people are surprised by this stunt. This scenario is not the first time Greg Locke has burned a book that disagrees with his ideology. After all, the man is neither unique nor clever. He follows a playbook most authoritarians use. However, book burning has a long history, as does banning them. And there is a danger here. So, let’s take a look at the past and how it affects our present.
