A quotation from Steinbeck, John

Except for the field organizers of strikes, who were pretty tough monkeys and devoted, most of the so-called Communists I met were middle-class, middle-aged people playing a game of dreams. I remember a woman in easy circumstances saying to another even more affluent: “After the revolution even we will have more, won’t we, dear?” Then there was another lover of proletarians who used to raise hell with Sunday picnickers on her property.

I guess the trouble was that we didn’t have any self-admitted proletarians. Everyone was a temporarily embarrassed capitalist. Maybe the Communists so closely questioned by the investigation committees were a danger to America, but the ones I knew — at least they claimed to be Communists — couldn’t have disrupted a Sunday-school picnic. Besides they were too busy fighting among themselves.

John Steinbeck (1902-1968) American writer
Essay (1960-06-01), “A Primer on the Thirties,” Esquire

I said this just yesterday to a RuzzTroll, as it happens. Turn of the past century is poised to repeat, and Putin is about to face the new generation of Bolsheviks who have no taste for Czars--just as the U.S. is about to repeat theirs. These are the interesting times.

Really good video with Brian Berletic (who's just left the discussion) and which is still streaming live with Alex and Alexander. What was especially pertinent was the general feeling that #America's primary interest is their own supremacy in the world and it's that attitude which is driving and distorting the true position of what is happening in #Ukraine. Have to say that imo this is exactly the same with the #UK and #EU, ie. they've bought into their own sense of importance and don't realise that they're actually at check-mate.

OTOH, N. Korean troops might see this as a prime opportunity to get the hell outta N. Korea.

The Terrifying Decline

A university professor laments the precipitous decline he has observed in the ability of his students:

I work as a professor for a uni on the east coast of the USA. What strikes me the most is the decline in student writing and comprehension skills that is among the worst I’ve ever encountered. These are SHARP declines; I recently assigned a reading exam and I had numerous students inquire if it’s open book (?!), and I had to tell them that no, it isn’t…

My students don’t read. They expect to be able to submit assignments more than once. They were shocked at essay grades and asked if they could resubmit for higher grades. I told them, also, no. They were very surprised.

To all K-12 teachers who have gone through unfair admin demanding for higher grades, who have suffered parents screaming and yelling at them because their student didn’t perform well on an exam: I’m sorry. I work on the university level so that I wouldn’t have to deal with parents and I don’t. If students fail– and they do– I simply don’t care. At all. I don’t feel a pang of disappointment when they perform at a lower level and I keep the standard high because I expect them to rise to the occasion. What’s mind-boggling is that students DON’T EVEN TRY. At this, I also don’t care– I don’t get paid that great– but it still saddens me. Students used to be determined and the standard of learning used to be much higher. I’m sorry if you were punished for keeping your standards high. None of this is fair and the students are suffering tremendously for it.

If there were any chance of salvaging the #USA as a means of organizing #heritage #America, this might be lamented. But there isn’t, so this is a very positive thing for those who are propagating heritage America, as the #intellectual #capabilities of the ruling elite and the #invaders who prop them up are in a steep #decline.

#Political #collapse and #balkanization is inevitable, so it is paramount for heritage Americans to ensure that their descendants are a) #numerous and b) #well-educated. This is the way that #America will survive and eventually thrive again, stronger and wiser than before.
