So who didn't see this comin' a mile down the road? With the US dollar being a benchmark currency issued by a nation that issues sanctions, you're gonna have the black market Mafia feeling their oats. But you'll also see black market turf wars and cannibalism. See also drug cartels. I for one am not the least bit surprised.

Armita Geravand, 16 died in the hospital after a long battle with brain injury she received last month.

The opposition claims she was attacked by Basij thugs at a metro station and collapsed when she got on the train, regime sources claim that she fainted and fell inside the train and got injured during the fall.

No matter what the real story is, it's really heartbreaking to hear that such beautiful and talented young teenager is now dead, directly or indirectly because of the actions of the members of #Basij forces against her.

The photo is the last self portrait of her she draw before her tragic death.

The lives of 8 more young men are in imminent danger in #Iran.

The 8 have received death sentence for "Spreading corruption on earth" and "Enemy of, Islam" for various activities, including planning protests and attacking #Basij and #Police stations as well as writing "profanity" against "spiritual leader" and "Islam" on the walls.

They are reportedly being tortured and forced to confession, their health has deteriorated during their harsh treatment in prison and they are planned to be executed in the coming days.

Iranian prominent #lawyer #MohsebBorhani openly criticized the death sentence of those accused of killing #Basij members and the legality of their court orders.

This is a very strong and brave movement that is (sadly) made him the target of massive hate attacks by so called "Iranian #diaspora" as well as hard line regime supporters.

Biryani is one of the few lawyers in #Iran who hasn't been put in prison for criticism of the unjust and rapid kangaroo courts.

Sources in Iran say that the high court of #IRI judiciary has approved the death penalty for 2 more people in the group accused of participation in the stabbing of #Basij member in late September 2021.

They were transferred to #RajaiShahr prison in #Karaj.

#MohammadGhobadlou and #MohammadBoroghani facing execution by hanging in coming days.

Despise the clear violation of IRI's #Sharia law that denies the "ghesas" (execution) to be used when more than one person was involved in the alleged crime and despise request from family of the victim, the Islamic high court refered to the case as an act of rebellion against the rule of "god" and denied all other requests because the crime was comited as a direct rebellion against forces of regime and that all those involved had "intention" to kill.

Something that many scholars inside the regime are opposing, but #Reisi, with the backing of hard line #IRGC leadership and #Khamenei himself is forcing these executions to "teach others a lesson". None of the accused were given the right to impartial review of their case, nor had access to a lawyer during the short and unjst court session where they were interviewd on TV to confes to their "crime" after long and brutal torture in prison.

Coalition made in heaven (or CIA's headquarter)

In the past 43 years, US has worked hard to find a puppet, strong enough to replace the regime of Iran.

After each uprising in Iran, from the civil war of the 80s, to reformist movement by Khatami, to election protests of early 2000 and now during the recent protests, they worked hard to push for Reza Pahlavi, the son of former dictator Mohammad Reza shah as their main puppet.

The latest uprising in Iran has been the strongest and the longest (but nit the bloodiest) uprising in IRI's post 1980s history.

From the start, the charlatans like Reza Pahlavi and Masih Alinejad tried to take credit for the protest and act like they are the ones "leading it".

The radical push by specially Alinejad, the Trump loving , neo-con paid "reporter" pushed the protest toward confrontation and the peaceful demonstration of the (mostly) women in the country were sidestepped by assassination of IRI police and officials, attacks against government building, mosques and police/paramilitary buildings as well as the attack against religious mullahs all over the country.

The recent "coalition" in the US, by Reza Pahlavi and Alinejad has now got support of Ali Karimi former football player, Golshifteh Farahani the Hollywood actress and some lesser known people is trying to create a US (western) backed alternative to the IRI regime who also openly terrorize anyone who is questioning actions and roles of these people online and in person.

They are also behind most of the fake stories about the death sentence against 1500 protesters, calling those who received death sentence for protesters, despite the fact that they were involved in actions that led to death of many IRI police and Basij members making it harder for those who want to prevent the death penalty to help and save the lives of those people.

It is really sad to see that people (specially media in west) give publicity and credit to these people, specially Alinejad, who has been in close contact with extremists Christian Taliban leaders such as Pompeo, Bolton and other high ranking GOP members in US, but (sadly) also many center and left wing politicians and activists in Europe who seems to ignore her background and those who fund her activities.

The protests in Iran has slowed down and the regime seems to have caught many of the key players in the attacks against the police and military but also many activists in the country, except in Baluchestan region by the border of Pakistan where militant groups seems to have escalated their attacks against the regime and the IRGC and Basij has responded with extreme brutality.

The situation in Kurdish regions (mostly Kurdistan Province, but also Kermanshah province as well) is also escalating into open armed conflict between the regime and organized and unorganized groups in various parts of the provinces.

Iran, after the initial protest, had a chance to isolate and push the extremists in the regime to give up their iron grip of the country and many voices inside the regime were also were talking about the possibility of easing the strict dress codes pushed by Reisi and the hardliner, but sadly, those voices are now silenced since they no longer see the uprising as a possibility to reform, but a call for regime change. The opposition seems to be in denial or completely ignoring the fact that regime, as uinpopular as it is, still holds a sold base among the religious groups, military and IRGC who are now united against anyone who question their authority.

I am afraid that with the way things going now, the opposition groups, including the Maoist/Islamist cult of Rajavi (MKO/NCRI) as well as the radical groups such as Kumelah, PKK and Ansarollah turning Iran into a open civil war, similar to those in the 80s.

These are just my thoughts, and I have to say that I left engaging in Politics in Iran many years ago and I am more of an outside observer than a person who participates or engages in discussion or actions.

Had a wasteful chat with a guy on Mastodon about my post covering the death sentence of the 5 protesters in Iran.

I usually stop the discussion when they call me for regime supporter or "repeating regime talking point" by people who don't care about fact in the case of condemning a barbaric act by the regime.

Some 40 IRI police, basij and IRGC commanders have been killed or assassinated by demonstrators and drive by shooters or car explosions.

The most gruesome killing of one of the basijis happened in late september where some of the demonstrators attacked and killed a basij member by raping him with a knife. The posts by bots and supporters of the act on twitter were nauseating and the jokes and call for repeating of the act was really upsetting, according to IRI, some people were caught in connection to that murder and probably will face execution after some sham trial.

There is nothing I can ever think of to justify such action by anyone. This level of violence is inexcusable, nothing justifies such behavior and no one should ever normalize such behavior. No matter how disgusting the regime supporters and their militia and police behave, ISIS style behavior is not and should not be accepted as reaction to those crimes.

If that makes me a regime supporter, then I am afraid, I have to keep on putting the politics of Iran aside since I can never support or turn those who commit such act as martyrs.

If we accept such behavior, then there are not difference between them and us. No matter how we portray it or hide it behind pretty slogans or westernized image and nice persian poetry.

MohammadMehdi Karmi, Reza Aria, Hamid QaraHasanloo and Hossein Mohammadi are four of the five people who are sentenced to death d accused of participating in the murder of "Seyed Ruhollah Ajamian" the Basij paramilitary who was killed by multiple stab wounds and kicked by protesters in Karaj west of Tehran.

The identity of the fifth person who was sentenced to death in this case is still unknown.

The regime has released a video they use as proof of these people participation in the "lynching" and death of the uniformed Basiji "police" in early days of protests, but they were convicted in closed courts, without having access to lawyers or any impartial investigation of the government proof of their guilt.

This is what the English language Tehran Times of IRI has said about the insidents surrounding the death of some of the government police and paramilitary:

In Karaj, the Basij member identified as Seyed Ruhollah Ajamian was stabbed to death by rioters. Fars News said he was attacked in the Khorramdash district. A viral photo on social media showed Ajamian lying on the ground with his Basij uniform torn off.
Hamid Pournorouz, 40, from Lahijan was also martyred on Thursday evening with cold weapons, the Mehr News Agency reported late on Thursday.

Also, a number of police officers have been severely wounded after rioters attacked their patrol and robbed away their gear. Videos that have gone viral showed the bloody officers lying in the car and getting shots and stones from rioters.

Iran carries out first known execution over anti-government protests

This is the first execution of people convicted of ‘waging war against God’ and being 'filth on earth' which are the common terms used by IRI since the early days of it's horror raign.

The sad news is being covered and used by the disgusting Saudi backed #IranInternational that is being quoted by so many people who believe they are receiving accurate news from Iran, but in reality, they are getting a spewed version of the events to make the crimes of IRI even worse to enrage those reading them.

The Guradian reported:
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/dec/08/iran-executes-man-23-mohsen-shekari-allegedly-stabbing-pro-regime-officer

Mohsen Shekari had been sentenced to death for allegedly blocking a street and wounding a member of the pro-regime Basij militia on 25 September, during the early phase of the protests triggered by the death in custody of Mahsa Amini.

State media published a video of what it said was Shekari’s confession, in which he appeared with a bruise on his right cheek. He admitted to striking a member of the Basij militia with a knife and to blocking a road with his motorbike alongside one of his friends.

The court found that he had used the weapon “with the intention of killing, causing terror and disturbing the order and security of society”. He appealed against the verdict, but it was upheld by the supreme court on 20 November.

Which is an accurate report of what Iranian state media had reported about his case and the reason for his sentence.

Sadly, the crimes of such cathegory are exempt from the normal procedures of judiciary in Iran and the accuse usually don't have access to legal representative nor ability to fight the decision to higher court which is the normal case in Iran even with it's limited legal rights for people condemned to death.

But the Saudi backed Iran International, covered the story differently:
https://www.iranintl.com/en/202212088960

The Tasnim news agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, identified the person who was executed as Mohsen Shekari but gave no more details. The specific actions Tasnim mentioned as reasons for Shekari’s death sentence cannot be independently verified.

The report they refer to did clearly indicate the ground for the decision with details, but it's true that the accusations could not be verified by other sources.

Later in the same article, they actually say what they denied 2 paragraphs earlier:

Judiciary spokesman Masoud Setayeshi announced on Tuesday that five people indicted in the killing of a Basij militia member, Rouhollah Ajamian, were sentenced to death in a verdict which they can appeal.

This is a sad and disgusting action by the regime who is stepping up it's crackdown on protesters and targeting those who were involved in many confrontations with Basij and Police that has led to death of some 40 of them including several high ranking IRGC commanders assassinated by masked men on motorcycles.

I am afraid this execution is just the first of many more to come and will only escalate the conflict and push Iran more towards another bloody conflict like those in the 3 years of terror between 1981 and 1983.

This brings back some really bad memories of the 80s.

When I was in #Evin Prison during the winter of 81, they used to have weekly "confession" session by former members of Mujahedin Khapq (#MKO) who were either turning into #IRGC members or sent to they bi weekly execution list.

Watching the confession of these young men in Iran, brought back those horrible memories. They have been tortured and forced into confession and made to believe that their public confession may save them from execution.

I fear for the life of these guys who are accused of involvement in the death of a #Basij member and iniriy of several #IRI #police as well as setting their patrol car on fire.

IRI regime needs pressure from international community who are sadly more focused on using sanctions rather than diplomatic pressure to help these young men in order to save their lives.

These 5 people were sentenced to death by #IRI regime for participating in murder of a #Basij militia in the city of #Karaj west of #Tehran

11 others were sentenced to prison of up to 25 years.

This is the second case of death penalty sentence against those who were identified as directly responsible for death of #police and basij members during the #riots in different cities in #Iran.

It is sad and unfortunate that the opposition leaders in Europe and US who pushed for such actions from early days of peaceful protests, are now using them as def-facfo martyrs.

Without access to lawyers or independent observers, these young men have little to no chance to fight the death sentence in higher courts. There is a big risk that the regime will end up executing some if not all of them.

The militant attacks against IRGC and Basij is much stronger and violent in border towns and in Baluchistan and Kurdistan. This incident in Banfar Abbas is a new trend that shows the protesters are getting bolder and stronger.

Truly sickening trend on social media!

A few days ago, report of an attack against #Basij in #Sanandaj that led to several members of the notorious violent thugs being captured, followed by graphic videos of #torture and #rape of one of them using a baton spreads around social media.

The videos were later removed but the number of "people" celebrating this disgusting act is now all over social media.

It is truly disgusting to read some of these comments and it's like a sad reminder of barbaric acts of Libyan groups who raped and tortured Gaddafi to death a few years ago.

The sad part is the silence of human rights groups and opposition leaders condemning this disgusting act in fear of being targeted by militant accounts on Twitter, Facebook and other social media.

Twitter seem to have accepted this trend and refuses to remove contents promoting and celebrating torture and rape on their platform. Facebook and Instagram on the other hand has removed contents and even banned users for sharing, celebrating and encouraging such acts.

I truly fear for future of Iran. The actions of these people is far worse than the actions of groups who fought against Shah's army and secret police in 79 and the level of support these acts are getting among Iranian diaspora is truly horrifying.

The one tweet by Nahid Sharif has received more than 37k likes.

Head of #IRI army voiced his unity and support with #IRGC and Basij and warned "The youth will receive the punishment for their actions when time comes".

This silences the roumers that the stupid Iranian diaspora in #UK and #US been spreading about the army refusal to stand behind the regime and saying that their job is to safeguard the nations borders not to kill it's own citizens they sworn to protect.

That doesn't mean that the low ranking officers and soldiers (mostly drafter) will follow the orders if #Khamenei decides to call in thd army to crush the ever growing uprising that is now openly challenging the authority of the police and IRGC and confronting #Basij by attacking them and in several cases even killing them.

Without a real opposition, without a united front among wide range of groups and without clear plans how to fight the regime, the risk for a wide spread civil war is spreading almost daily.

I'm really afraid of the outcome of this uprising, not because I believe the regime has any legitimacy, but the danger of chaos that will follow if the regime falls (which is highly unlikely, at least in short term and without major escalation of the conflict between Sepah and public).
