Jewish Voice for Peace : “There is no intention of allowing the residents of the northern Gaza Strip to return to their homes” - Gen Itzik Cohen of the Israeli military.

This week, while American media focused on the election, the Israeli military announced its goal of permanently removing Palestinians from their land in North Gaza. While the Israeli military’s plan of extermination has been clear for weeks—and is the continuation of a year of genocide and decades of displacement and occupation—this official proclamation of permanent ethnic cleansing by the Israeli government amounts to the war crimes of forcible transfer and the use of food as a weapon.
For over a month, Israeli forces have imposed a siege on North Gaza, executing its “general’s plan” to force the 400,000 Palestinians in the area to either leave or die. The Israeli military has cut off the region to all aid, and no food or water has entered since October 1. Horrific footage has circulated of Palestinians blindfolded and detained by the Israeli military. Israeli forces continue to target schools and hospitals, bombing anywhere that can be used as a shelter. Just last night, Israeli airstrikes killed 30 Palestinians sheltering in a school in Gaza City. Palestinians in North Gaza are facing the harshest conditions since the start of the Israeli military’s US-funded genocidal assault last October.
The Israeli government’s current extermination campaign represents the logical conclusion of Zionism, the political ideology that the Israeli state is based on. Zionism envisions the creation of an ethnostate where Jews have more rights than Palestinians; under this colonial logic, Zionism requires forcing Palestinians from their land.
The end goal of the Israeli government and the Zionist project is loud and clear—the total ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homes. And our government’s complicity is loud and clear as it continues to fund the atrocities perpetrated by the Israeli military with our tax dollars.
Palestinians have the right to live in freedom and the right to return home. We demand that the US government ends its complicity and stops the flow of weapons now.

Come learn from organizers about #Israel #Bonds and Israel Bonds divestment, including what you can do in your community to break the bonds with #genocide and #apartheid!
While many know that the U.S. Congress sends billions of dollars each year to support the Israeli military’s violence against Palestinians, few know that billions of dollars in funding to the Israeli #military and government comes from institutions much closer to home.
Billions in “Israel Bonds”–direct loans to the Israeli military and government–are being purchased by our local governments, state governments, unions, pension funds, religious institutions, and other institutions every year.
Together, we can withdraw key support for violence against Palestinians by demanding that our community institutions stop buying Israel Bonds.

Jewish Voice For Peace: As the largest anti-Zionist Jewish organization in the world, we unequivocally reject the conflation of antisemitism with anti-Zionism and reaffirm in the strongest terms that there is no place for antisemitism in our movements. We condemn the false accusations of antisemitism leveled against principled, anti-war protesters to discredit our movements.

We call on all people of conscience to remain focused on the urgent work at hand: Ending U.S. weapons and funding to the genocide of Palestinians and reaching an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. The lives of hundreds of thousands of people depend on it.

In New York, a crowd of protesters against Israeli actions in the #Gaza Strip gathered at the city's Grand Central Station.

The action was organized by members of the Jewish Voice for Peace movement. They put up a banner saying “Palestinians must be free.” They write online that the police are going to start making arrests.

From FB page of Jewish Voies for Peace: Western news and social media have exhibited a racist double standard in support for different peoples’ resistance against military occupation.

While Ukrainians have rightfully garnered expressions of sympathy and solidarity for taking up arms and making molotov cocktails to defend themselves from Russian violence, Palestinians — who have been struggling against Israeli colonization and occupation since the 1940s — have been demonized and punished for their resistance, including for actions that have been falsely but favorably attributed to Ukrainians by social media users.
For example, social media users have admiringly shared viral images of Ahed Tamimi, a Palestinian girl who was vilified and imprisoned for confronting Israeli soldiers throughout her childhood, with the false claim that she is a Ukrainian girl confronting a Russian soldier.
Swipe for some more thoughts from Palestinians and allies on the West’s double standards for what constitutes legitimate resistance.
We must stand in solidarity with everyone resisting occupation, including and especially Black, Brown, and Indigenous people who are not lionized or even humanized in Western media. Wherever there is oppression, may there thrive resistance!
