I kept getting CPU alerts for my #Ubuntu web server.
htop says that #MySQL was using the most CPU time - despite it not doing anything as I haven't fully set it up yet and it has nothing to do. htop reported it using about 15% of the CPU, but it shows up as almost 100% on the Akamai control panel. I'm not sure how to interpret this yet.
You can see when I turned the service off the CPU and disk dropped to almost nothing, which I would expect to be the case normally with all the services on. The server literally just hosts the LAMP stack with a single static HTML page. No big ask there. I'm still planning out the pages that will use PHP and MySQL, those are still on the drawing board.

Is there anywhere I can look for speeding up my pod? I know that I should be using Postegresql, but I did not know that in 2016! Is there any other "tweaks" I can make in the diaspora.yml config file to "increase speed"?

I rebuilt a system for keeping electronic notes for other programs, and moved that from a flat text file to a MySql database table, fixing the script and the 2 programs that use that information.

The name, in English, is a bit like ‘rubbish’, which holds dear memories of my first job, where we had a similar system to keep pointers, last-used-dates and other unrelated stuff together.
