Grief is a monster at first; but a friend after. That's what they say.
For Thomas, Grief is still a monster, whether he befriends it or not.

"Grief is like that annoying acquaintance who clings onto you despite knowing it's not wanted; and it shows up when you least expects it to. Some days we enjoy the memories, some days Grief comes and hit me like a brick," says Thomas. "Still, we have such fun together in reminiscence, in pain and despair, in beautiful tragedy; and ultimately, we ended up signing a dark contract together, ah ha ha..."

My priest, Thomas Benedicta relaxing at St Capitolina Abbey, monastery for Monks, with a ghost of his past. He has been grieving Casey's death for many years and is still struggling with survivor's guilt. He decides to relax here only because an old acquaintance, Sister Cessna said this place helped to alleviate her sorrows.
(Trivia: This place will no longer exist in 300 years to come, when Ragnarök happens.)

My Ragnarök Online character, Mef the Shadow Chaser/SC (rogue class).
Unknowingly drew the pose to be 99% like [the ref image], only reversed. x'D
(You can also read about SCs there, first paragraph. They are, in short, warrior artists... or con artists... hahah...)

As the title says, this is Mef in the default Shadow Chaser uniform of the game. Mef doesn't like it because of no shirt and he doesn't even carry THAT many daggers. Besides, it lacked his colour theme: red! He also loves the floofy cape, makes him feel safe. And those are Li'l Row button pins, hahaha. The actual design is a horned smiley, but I changed that for more Mef-ness. And I also left his chains at black for visibility purposes.

In order to keep up with the growing power of other guilds such as the Rune Knights of the Swordman guild, the Rogue guild discovered that painting would lead them to the power they were seeking. They studied ways to inflict psychological damage...

My Ragnarök Online/iRO character, Thomas Benedicta the Archbishop (priest/cleric). He does exorcism... and even had one done onto him. :')

And yes, he blesses the demons, undeads, and ghosties. Blessing them reduces their formidability. He also likes to slow down their movements sometimes, reduce their defence against holy elements even more, or use a double-damage skill on them... Most priests won't waste their time on this petty moves, going straight for the kill. So, it might just be that Thomas likes to toy with his foes before exorcising them. Huh, never knew he was sadistic. x'D "I'm not sadistic," Thomas objects. "I am just playful when we're one-on-one, ah ha ha..." ┑(￣▽￣)┍

My dA friend mentioned Spirou when I was chatting with him and it brought back memories. So, I wanted to try draw in a Spirou-esque style. Apparently, I failed; but I decided to just mix in my usual style and keep this. It kinda reminds me of my Picayune, haha. I also realised that I changed the way I drew nose over the years. The Thomas drawing above is my originally-intended style. Rounded, not pointed.

My pal on dA introduced me to sugar skull (calavera) through her drawing of La Catrina. Sugar skulls are part of Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) celebration. I visited a few sites and I think this whole celebration is a nice concept.

I think Thomas would totally be into this Day if he was on our planet, haha. In fact, it might help him learn to view the passing of his beloved in a fresh perspective. Besides, he loves skulls and death stuff(?).

So, this drawing is just because I wanna draw Thomas and sugar skulls. Sorry guys, no face paint. I'm not good at decorative patterns and I don't wanna butcher this tradition. As it is, I don't think I even decorated the skulls well. x'D

Oh yeah, Whispersio gets a clay skull because Whispy does not eat anything but darkness and we don't want that white fabric to be stained with colourings, do we... Also, although it's day time, Mef's home is a beach town inside a cave, so it has no sunlight. Illuminated by fireworks. Whispy likes it.

Mef is having a mask party at his house in the beach town!
Be sure to wear a mask or he will paint your face so ghastly even monsters will flee! xD

My characters: Thomas, Mef, and Kei.
Above them are Whispersio (Thomas' pet) and Li'l Row (Mef's pet).

This was also a doodle (one of many) that I decided to do up a bit. Some masks you've seen in my comic, and some you haven't. Mef's pose is totally taken from my comic's Epilogue, lol. And I accidentally made Thomas a tiny bit too tall. He's supposed to be shorter than Kei. I only realised this after completing the drawing. Oh well. :') And that is my attempt at 'scribbly fun' handwriting style.

Hey, everyone! It's been a while, hasn't it! Well, for me it felt like ages... Here's a Ragnarök Online fan art of my characters from my comic, 'Chasing Thomas Benedicta'. They're pretty much like my own OCs now to be honest, hahaha. The beauty of RPG characters, hehehe~

These are just some ideas of what their lives might be like, maybe after a year later or so.

Here you can see (from top-left):
- Mef reading a book (with pictures, ofc!) while a drunk Thomas comes by.
- Mef being teased by Rando as usual.
- Mef and pet, Li'l Row getting some sun after some trades with merchants there.
- Thomas and pet, Whispersio attending talks in Rachel temple to learn more on the goddess Freyja since he's switching to worshipping her than Odin.
- Kei holding his wife, Molly and his new kid so very dearly.
- Mef back then when he first learns how to sharpen his daggers.

This picture is originally a collection of sketches, me purging the trash art to make way for a worthy one. Unfortunately, it's not happening; and I do wanna make OC art, but my brain is dead when it comes to my own OCs. T_T I'm tryin'a get inspired but failing. :') So I figured I'd still upload whatever sketches I have, and this is it.

I think the comic's pretty self-explanatory. It definitely takes place after [CTB], heheh.

Featuring my RO characters that are pretty much like OCs already: Mef the rogue and Kei the archer with the age-old question that almost all artists get: "Can you draw me?" Annoyed for having his fun time interrupted with such a request (as handsome as Kei may be), Mef paints him as an ape monster who happens to share the same hairstyle as his. x'D

I saw this card illustration a few months back when playing RO... I saw it and was like "OMG it's Kei"x'DDD --and only now with this prompt list do I have the reason to draw it.

:: 47-28 [CTB] The Time After ::

Ragnarök Online fan art to celebrate the completion of my doodly comic which began airing in June. It received good feedback; I'm flattered. It was uploaded only on my dA because it's the best platform for me.

Here are my RO characters (from left): Mef the Shadow Chaser (rogue type), Thomas Benedicta the Archbishop (cleric), and Kei Jang the Sniper (archer). At the coffee table is Mef's pet, Li'l Row (a hyena-faced meerkat) and Thomas' pet, Whispersio (a little ghost).

It's been a few days since Mef concluded a super big important mission of his lifetime that results in Thomas now living with him in his beach hometown, Comodo. Kei visits them a lot, but not as much once he [gets married] and becomes the family man he's always wanted to be. It will then be Thomas & Mef who visits him often, haha.

This drawing actually took some effort, but it's worth it. I died making that beaded curtain at the back. :') And thanks to @Classoo for the idea of a Whispersio blanket. x'D Unfortunately I am not good at making it, haha~

I am SO gonna miss this part of my life. :aww:

I made them act like 5-year-olds again, I am so sorry. x'D Only now I wish I had put them in a classroom setting.

Thomas found Mef's old painting in Mef's hut and wants to see it. Mef is shy to show his paintings because he thinks they're not good enough (yet)... but Thomas thinks that anything Mef paints will look nice, so he doesn't see what's the problem here.

Thomas says, "Let me see your stuff, Mef!" and Mef cries out in refusal. "But I wanna seeee~ Don't be shy!" Thomas insists; and Mef lets out another cry of "Nooo!" Hearing the commotion, Kei peeks in and warns Thomas, "Thomas, behave yourself or I will report you for harassment." Whispersio only looks at the antics of his owner.

🔹 SYNOPSIS
A newbie member of the Rogues Guild (Mef) gets caught up in a high-ranking case surrounding a priest (Thomas). All he wanted to know was whether this was the same priest who inspired him to be an adventurer; and while he did get to confirm things, the case turns serious and he gets dragged into a matter of life and death.

🔹 UPLOAD SCHEDULE
New Episodes will be uploaded every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

For now, this comic is exclusively on my dA.
It will not be on IG, Diaspora, or Artfol. Not gonna be on Tapastic either because its revamped UI leaves too little room for the comic page itself and the site isn't newbie-friendly anymore since the 'money talks' came in.

I will make a weekly update post to notify of new Episodes.

Done using mechanical pencil, drawn on school exercise book.

🔹 ABOUT 'RO'
Ragnarök Online/RO is an online role-playing game loosely based on Norse mythology. It takes place in a world called Midgard. There are many cities and villages in Midgard, some with their own tales to tell.
In this world, there are many monsters; some are aggressive, some are timid. To protect the nation, the king calls forth brave people to fight off these monsters. These brave people are called Adventurers. So RO = adventurers fight monsters. Some monsters look like normal animals, but they are demonic nonetheless.
There is [more to it], but this is the basics.

🔹 CTB TRIVIA
- CTB was meant to be a working title, but I decided to stick to it because it can also mean 'catch the bus', an internet slang for committing suicide (or so says the Goog).
- It isn't intended, but Mef and Thomas are like yin and yang. In terms of colours: Thomas is white and blue, while Mef is black and red. In terms of class/job, Thomas is of the light, Mef is shadowy.
- As for the Episodes... 'Episode' is used instead of 'Chapter' to match with what the game uses. CTB Episode count is actually based on my original written work, 'The Life and Times of Thomas Benedicta' and also the amount of pages in the comic when in book form. I mentioned 66 pages last time, but that was because I divided each scanned Episode file in two. Now, however, I decided not to go with that because if we can look at art memes with a height (length) of 8000px, then we can look at my Episodes that are half of that. x'D

Refugee from Nerdica, Pluspora and Google+ looking to reconnect

I don't have much luck with social networks, do I? I used to be mcv@nerdica.net, but nerdica seems to be quite thoroughly dead. Database is corrupt, and nothing can be recovered.

So that means I lost all my posts, comments, contacts, followers, and my place in the Fediverse. I'm trying to cobble things together, so if you recognise me, or even if you don't, please reach out and reconnect. I used to be on #Nerdica , #pluspora and I'm even a #googleplusrefugee.

So I'm not #newhere in the Fediverse, but I am new at this server. I run a #shadowrun #rpg #ttrpg campaign, occasionally post about a #boardgame I played, especially #18xx #railroad games, but also many others. I'm a #programmer , and I'm pretty sure I was also connected to a bunch of people in the #opensource #software world. I'm also interested in #tech, #science, and #computers in general.

I'm also occasionally interested in discussions of #politics, especially of the #leftwing #liberal #green and/or #libertariansocialism kind, though I'm not overly dogmatic on any of them. I #bicycle regularly, use #linux, and after all these social media servers I lost, I'm considering running my own #friendica server. I might even be nuts enough to try to write my own #fediverse software, which would probably end up much like Friendica (or #Diapora, or Google+), but not in PHP.

I'm probably forgetting a bunch of stuff, but I hope this post will help me reconstruct and reconnect what I lost.
