JULY 11, 2024. THURSDAY
It's 104°F in Salt Lake City, and 84°F inside my apartment. I'm still doing fine and using my 'Surviving Heat Waves' methods.
The power has gone out in a number of units in the building where I live.
- From my windows I have seen people 'jogging' in the heat on the City sidewalks. Also, a couple with their baby in a baby carriage, without a thought of the high heat cooking their child's brain, and people walking dogs, also without a thought of the hot temperature on the concrete sidewalk and asphalt streets - burning the paws of the dogs.
Now, I'm going to take a cool water shower and bath- before the cool water is no longer cool.

Heat Wave.
6:25 PM. June 27, 2024, 85° in my apartment. Time to jump in the bathtub full of cool water.
OH MY GAWD! A Breeze is going on outside. I've opened all the windows and the front door. The breeze is blowing in and all around in every room.
It's a 1918 building. I learned about the cross ventilation after I moved in. That's how residents used to survive the hot Summer weather in Salt Lake City.
- Cross ventilation is a natural phenomenon where wind, fresh air or a breeze enters upon an opening, such as a window, and flows directly through the space and exits through an opening on the opposite side of the building (where the air pressure is lower).
