The body of a man was found yesterday evening (March 12) in the Ardèche department, three days after a hydroelectric plant worker went missing in the area.
It was discovered by hunters and relatives of the 73-year old who disappeared on Saturday evening during flash flooding.
The body was found close to a micropower station along the Eyrieux river, where the man was working during Saturday evening's storms.
Authorities believe it is most probably the body of the missing man, however rescue workers and police forces were unable to reach the location of the body last night but planned to make a fresh attempt this morning.
It now brings the death toll from the weekend's storms and high waves to seven - six in the south of France and one in the west.

It has been raining like crazy here in Juan Les Pins, I left this half water bottle outside last week, and today it was almost overflowing with rain water .
My balcony drainage was clogged and the whole balcony looked like a lake
Cleaned it up and our ground floor neighbor got a few hundred liter of water coming down on him.
I really don't like the system here that the balcony water goes out on the street or the neighbors on the ground floor.
I will definitely have a rain water collection in my next place, the rain water here is full of nitrogen and it's great for root vegetables and leafy vegetables. And if I filter that t, I might even be able t use it in my future Aquaponics system.

Der Abend entschied sich für Nebel, der kein Regen sein will und trotzdem nur Augenblicke braucht, Kleidung, Haare, Gemüt zu durchdringen. Neben der Industriebrache bellt ein Hund. Eine dunkle Limousine rollt durch die alte Straße, die Scheinwerfer so trüb wie die Laternen, um die sich rostrote Bälle aus Dunst hüllen. Derzeit herrscht kein Mangel an November zwischen Park und Fluss.
Gestern Abend, 25.02.2024
So ein schöner Tag war gestern, als ich mit meiner guten Freundin unterwegs war. Eine fast drei Stunden lange Runde haben wir gemacht, am Rande von der Stadt Rheine, an der Ems. Der Flusspegel ist immer noch ganz hoch, aber kein Überflutung Gefahr mehr. Unterwegs haben wir fest gestellt, dass das Wasser stand 1,5 Meter höher im letzten Monaten, beim Überschwemmungen. Erschreckend für uns beide war die Feststellung.
Auf dem Rückweg habe ich kurz am Wegesrand angehalten... Diese Aussicht war spannend: ich wusste, dass über meinem Ort geht gerade wieder die Welt unter, beim ganz starken Regen und ich stand dort, noch alles trocken und hinter mir noch fast wolkenfreier blauer Himmel!

Beyond 4pm. Spring to winter within a couple of hours. Watching snow slowly mix into the thin indecisive rain. Meanwhile, coffee's cooling down too, as calls move on. Moving arms, neck, head a tiny bit, careful to switch off cameras before. The kind of sports to be done while sitting, typing, listening most of the hours. (And feeling the burden of short nights, a bit more than in other days.)

By the time I’d finished, the #wind had died down to a brisk #Breeze but there was quite heavy #rain. However, I always have my #WaterproofTrousers at this time of year and so I didn’t get wet.
