This takes almost half a minute to get up to speed, but then it really takes off. This really swings, so I'm also going to tag it as swing.
There was also Joe Venuti's Five and Six. I'm not sure who performs on this recording. Venuti on violin, certainly, and the guitar, we can safely assume, is Eddie Lang. It's probably Frankie Trumbauer or Jimmy Dorsey on sax. The piano? Hard to say.

mocplayer has become the default player:
being written in C it is extremely resource efficient, being a terminal based GUI it is actually possible to ssh into the box that is playing the music, and change tracks “remotely”. NOICE!
BUT…. if you happen to have a large music library collection?
It seems that VLC AND MOCP are great piece of software, BUT they do not really shuffle that music.
They do not shuffle through all the songs in all sub sub sub directory with an obscure names and thus some songs won’t show up on the playlist and things get repetative fast.

being a Java based program, YES it needs some resources (CPU + RAM)
but it is worth it. (really finds all music in the deepest of directories, unlike VLC)

We must put an end to #capitalism. To do that, we must know the #enemy – #capital. We will never defeat that enemy if we do not understand it – its effects, its strengths and weaknesses. If, for example, we don’t know capital as our enemy, then crises within capitalism due to overaccumulation of capital or the destruction of the #environment will be viewed as crises of the “economy” or of industrialization – calling for us all to sacrifice.
Indeed, so long as #workers do not see capital as their own product and continue instead to think of the need for healthy capitalists as common sense (and as in their own interest), they will hold back from actions that place capital in crisis. Even if we are successful in struggling to gain control of the state, even if we manage to take government away from capital, we’ll continue to think of capital as necessary if we don’t understand it.
Something important happens when you struggle along with others. You win sometimes, and you learn the importance of #uniting. But it’s not only that your prospect for victory improves. Also, you change. You begin the process of shedding those sides of yourself that capital has produced. You are changing your social relations: in place of separation, there is #solidarity. You know yourself as part of a #community and you come to recognize others as part of that community too. You change in another way in the process. You develop new capacities. It’s what #Marx called “ #revolutionary-practice” – the simultaneous changing of circumstances and human activity or #self-change.

Muss ich jetzt so langsam feststellen. Der Frequenzgang meines Gehörs ist gewaltig auf knapp 10kHz zurückgegangen, dazu kommt noch der Tinnitus mit einem 24h Zahnarztbohrergeräusch hinzu. Interessanterweise höre ich nun die MP3 und AAC Artefakte sehr übel raus. Früher(tm) war ich mit 128kBit zufrieden. Meine Audioschätze auf VHS-HiFi hatte ich vor knapp 20 Jahren trotzdem mit 192kBit übertragen. Selbst das höre ich jetzt deutlich. 320kBit geht (noch?).
Mit fällt das gerade auf, da ich mal wieder eine Schallplatte aufgelegt habe. Obwohl die Scheibe 45 Jahre alt ist, kommt es weicher und angenehmer rüber. Was gar nicht geht, ist DAB-Radio. Da bekomme ich Plack. Selbst UKW-Radio scheint inzwischen in der Zuspielung schon komprimiert zu sein. Internetradio bitte auch nur über 192kBit. Alles andere bleibt aussen vor. YouTube Music ist auch sehr grenzwertig...

Ich suche einen neuen, mobilen #Musik Abspieler. Könnt Ihr mir da etwas #empfehlen? #MP3 sollte er auch mit Tags beherrschen, #OggVobis wäre wünschenswert. Als Speicher sollte er internen Flash von mindestens 4Gb haben und/oder SD(HC)-Karten verwenden. Und mit #Linux soll er problemlos zusammen arbeiten (also kein iApfelGerät)
