Good news for Sherlock Holmes fans!

Sherlock Holmes will finally escape copyright this weekend

More to come, as copyrights expire. Of course, some schlock may arrive with the flock of Sherlock derivatives. We'll see.

I actually saw the original (superb) Netflix Enola Holmes over Thanksgiving week, my biggest-ever Netflix binge! (2-parts) yay!

Some Favorite Novel Series

First: the Phryne Fisher novels of Kerry Greenwood

Others please mention one or more of your favorite series.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phryne_Fisher

I've read all of these. There was a TV series based on these called Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. There was also, more recently, a movie: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears. the TV series Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries isn't really up to the same standard. Not horrible, but not great.

Michael Dunning, Yew: Tree Of Eternity

Filmed at Plant Consciousness 2016 event, London: Michael Dunning, Yew Shaman - The yew tree is a living mystery. It has survived virtually unchanged for over 250 million years as the oldest, and yet simultaneously the most youthful and even ‘embryonic’ tree species in Europe. Known as ‘the tree archetype of Europe’, the yew has the ability to change its sex, seemingly at will. The oldest known word for the yew, eya (circa 1750 BCE) means ‘eternity’ or ‘to be touched by eternity.’ It is likely that the ‘eternity’ referred to here is related to ancient practices involving the psychoactive properties of the yew. Michael has directly experienced these properties through working in specific ways with yew bark which produces a consciousness altering alkaloid toxin; what Michael in his yewshamanic work refers to as the ‘alkaloid cloud’ of the yew.

Michael will reveal many fascinating connections between the yew and the World Tree Yggdrasil as well as the yew’s significance to the Templar Knights. He will also talk about the profound healing capacities of the yew in relationship to his recovery from long term illness and the transformation and culmination of that experience into a body of teachings that he calls the Yew Mysteries.
