#Elder’s #Meditation of the Day April 3

“We know that in all creation, only the human family has strayed from the Sacred Way.”

#OJIBWA #Prayer

#How have we gotten so far off track?

What has happened to us?

What is happening to our family?

How did it happen so quickly?

Every individual needs to answer these questions for themselves.

What do we need to do to start living the #Sacred #Way again?

#Pray! Today I will start praying. I pray the Creator will lead all Native People to a #great #healing. I pray we’ll be free from alcohol and drugs. I pray we will return to the culture, to spirituality and to #unity.

My Mother, help us to heal ourselves. Make us strong again.

#Awaken the Hidden to Reclaim the Forbidden
#NDE - #Wisdom with #MariaLupitaGurule, #Soul-Reader

Source: https://youtube.com/watch?v=qfeIymQ68-0

The title and her discussion of the meaning of "forbidden" struck a nerve with me.
She starts talking about forbidden at 9:12

We now define forbidden as being "cannot "go to/access a forbidden matter or we will be punished

She deconstructs, I think RIGHTLY, that the word forbid is "for" and "bid"

which holds the meanings For as in "in front of", in advance of something, or before
and Bid as in call forth. Something "bidden" is something called forth.

The word is actually about how we can in advance bring forth a matter. OK, that points to the way we are meant to take responsibility to make known what we expect to bring in to our "reality" and see it manifest.

I was disturbed because though I COULD recognize a much more uplifting understanding of forbidden, I cannot automatically have a changed definition appear in my thoughts when saying "forbidden". I have to consciously change the meaning over and over if thinking the word.

What that says to me is that language has been so distorted that we cannot even easily regain meanings and certainly must deconstruct what we have in our minds.

Today is the fifth day of the #Navaratri #celebrations which are held for nine nights.

#Jupiter
enter image description here
As the nine nights represent the nine planets, we will be having a planetary observance of Navaratri with an account of one of the planets for each of the nine nights. The fifth day of Navratri is marked to worship Goddess Skandamata, mother of #Murugan (var. #Skanda, #Subramanya, #Kartikeya), is worshipped on the fifth day, one should wear #yellow. This colour stands for happiness and brightness. Skanda-Murugan is the leader of the armies against evil.

#Goddess #Skandamata
enter image description here
All festivals are meant to remind mankind that they should cultivate noble qualities by engaging themselves in activities beneficial to one’s own self and society. Sai Baba has told that Navaratri, the nine nights, represents the Nine Planets.
In Hindu mythology, Navaratri celebrates the victory of Goddess Durga over Mahishasura, the buffalo-headed demon. She fought for nine days and nine nights before emerging victorious on the tenth day. Goddess #Shakti in the nine forms is worshipped during the period for knowledge, wealth, prosperity and auspiciousness. Knowingly or unknowingly during this period we also recognize the primordial source of energy (Shakti), which manifests in all living and nonliving.

Sai Baba went on to say that each planet has its own significance. However, these planets are not outside, they are within. So we take the opportunity to examine the energies of the planets within, and examine how the Divine Mother is related to these energies.

#Jupiter
Jupiter is watery in constitution ( #kapha), wears yellow clothes and yellow flowers; his gem is yellow sapphire. A #Brahmin, Jupiter knows all the Vedas and is expert in all forms of knowledge. As #guru, Jupiter has the highest forms of knowledge, philosophy and spirituality (para vidya) and teaches the #sacred paths.

Jupiter is Lord of the body’s fat, of the northeast, rules Thursdays, and the signs of Sagittarius and Pisces. Jupiter is known as the Lord of Worship and as the Guru. He is called Teacher of the Immortals, the Soul, the Advisor, the Lord of Speech, the Golden, the Creator (he is but another form of Brahma) the Compassionate, the Creator of Polity, remover of oppression and the Peaceable. As Guru, one honours one’s own guru by honouring this planet, Jupiter.

Jupiter grants knowledge of Yoga, Astrology, Vastu, science and mathematics, and is the giver of wisdom which overcomes obstacles. Jupiter as guru guides us in following dharma (the path of righteousness within and without) for dharma is the basis of the Universe itself. Jupiter indicates such domains of principle as law, religion and philosophy. He is the planet of intelligence.

Jupiter’s energy is that of #expansion; it expands everything it touches, making it bigger and greater. Some call Jupiter a multiplier, for this is what Jupiter does. If Jupiter is well placed in your horoscope its influence will be toward humanitarian activity, compassion, morality, caring, spirituality, optimism, faith and good judgement. One will be powerful, respected, healthy, wealthy, and a leader in society. Ambitious people who are aiming for high office whether it be politicians, priests, executives or judges are all under the influence of Jupiter. When Jupiter is afflicted in one’s astrological chart it will bring poverty, anger, arthritis, illness of the liver and pancreas, and overall bad luck.

Goddess Skandamata
Skandamātā is the fifth form of Hindu Goddess Durga. Literally meaning Mother of Skanda, her name comes from two words – Skanda is one of the names for the war god and her son Kartikeya (or Murugan or Subramanya) and Mata is the term for mother.

Skandamātā is four-armed and rides on a lion. She carries a lotus. Her one hand is in blessing posture. Lord Skanda can be seen in her lap. She possesses four arms out of which two often hold the lotus flowers. One of her hands is always in the boon-conferring gesture and with the other she holds her son Skanda in her lap. Her complexion is white and she is seated on the lotus. So, she is also called Goddess with a lotus-seat (Padmāsana). The lion is her vahana (vehicle).

Significance of Navaratri
“During the Dasara festival, three goddesses – Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati -are worshipped according to certain traditional practices. Durga represents the prodigious power of nature (Prakrit-shakti). As against this power of nature is the Paraa-Shakti (the power of the spirit). When spiritual power is predominant, the power of nature is kept under control. When spiritual power is weak, the power of nature becomes predominant. This is illustrated by the example of smoke and fire. When smoke is predominant, the fire is suppressed. When the fire is blazing, the smoke vanishes. Hence, to enhance the power of spirit and limit the power of nature, man has to cultivate detachment (Vairaagya). To the extent that power of nature is under control, to that extent spiritual power grows. “Ichchaa-Shakti” is one of the of several other potencies like intellectual power, the discriminating capacity and others. To develop this “Ichchaa-Shakti” (will power), one has to worship “Devi”. This calls for the cultivation of Tyaaga (detachment or renunciation). For instance, if one has a desire for various drinks, he can bring the desires under control by giving up, to begin with, the desire for one of them. Thereby the Will Power (Ichchaa-Shakti) is developed and in due course, it becomes easier to give up other desires.

In Vedantic parlance this is described as “Vairaagya” (renouncing attachments). Vairaagya is not abandonment of hearth and home and retiring to a forest. It means developing godly thoughts and reducing worldly feelings. When this balanced development takes place, one acquires control over the powers of nature (Praakrita-Shakti). When these powers are got, the mental power in a person increases. Durga represents the Praakrita-Shakti and Lakshmi represents the Thought Power (Sankalpa Shakti). Vaak-Shakti (the power of speech), is represented by Saraswati. In order to acquire these three powers, various forms of worship are performed during the Navaratri festival. But prayers alone are not enough. Prayers should not be just from the lips. They should emanate from the heart. The heart (Hridaya) symbolizes the Ocean of Milk (Ksheera-saagara). When Lakshmi emerges, purity of speech follows. Whatever you speak should conform to truth.” Sai Baba, SS. 12/92. pp.304 & 305.

#happy #Navratri

enter image description here

enter image description here
As the nine nights represent the nine planets, we will be focussing on Navaratri and the nine planets with an account of one or another the planets for nine nights. For the third night of Navaratri, we will take the planet #Mars. The third day of Navratri is #Sindoor Tritya. The colour for the third day of Navaratri is #RED, so we scribe in RED for this third day observance of Navaratri. The #Goddess is #Maa #Chandraghanta.

Today is the third day of the Navaratri celebrations which are held for nine nights. All festivals are meant to remind mankind that they should cultivate noble qualities by engaging themselves in activities beneficial to one’s own self and society. Sai Baba made this reference to Navaratri and the Nine Planets:
As part of Navaratri celebrations, people worship different forms of divinity. You should develop #sacred feelings and experience divinity. What is the inner meaning of Navaratri celebrations? These nine nights represent nine planets. Each planet has its own significance. However, these planets are not outside, they are within. If your feelings are impure and unsacred, the result also will be the same. You are responsible for the good and bad you think and experience.

Sindoor Tritiya is observed on the third day of the 9-day Navaratri festival. On this day Maa Chandraghanta is worshipped. This day is of great significance in North India. This is a ritual during Navaratri, which is closely associated with Sindoor – the red powder or #Vermilion – which is an essential part of Hindu ritual and closely associated with Mother Goddess worship.

This day also marks the end of the first three days of Navaratri, especially in South India. The first three days of Navratri are dedicated to Goddess #Durga. The next three days are dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi.

Mars
The Planet Mars is known in #VedicAstrology as #Kuja, the Commander in Chief, son of Bhumi, Mother Earth, (or Bhoomi Devi), and is dispositor or karaka of shakti in the form of energy, will, power and strength. Mars is a planet of strength. The sloka for Mars describes this planetary deity has having the (weapon or instrument) Shakti in his hand. So we may take strength, power, energy and force as signatures of Mars.

So we understand that Mars, with the instrument of Shakti, has power, energy and will. Application of will to physical energy and efforts gives rise to power, concentration and success in the formation of discipline to create human order in human society. Mars, with its command of energy for repetition, practice, drill, gives penetration of mind and intellect to efficient decisions, which create order where disorder and chaos exist.

There are five elements: earth, air, fire, water and ether (space). These represent the different layers of manifestation from the subtle universe to the material, 3 dimensional world. The three gunas (impulses, drives to action or inaction) work through the five elements to form the outer world and sustain the bodies of the individual souls that take birth. There are shaktis of space, air, fire, water and earth within our bodies. Fire, which Mars is a significator of, has the powers to create great heat in furnaces and foundries, to controlled heat in turbines and kitchen stoves, to ripen and to impart colour. It represents electrical energy inherent in space, activated by the air element and gaining luminosity, and thus giving forth the power of light.

Day 3

Goddess Chandraghanta

Chandraghanta is the third form of Goddess Durga. Her name Chandra-Ghanta, means “one who has a half-moon shaped like a bell. Her third eye is always opened and she always ready for war against demons. She is also known as Chandrakhanda, Chandika or Rannchandi. Her worship takes place on the third day of Navaratri. She is believed to reward people with her grace, bravery and courage. By her grace all the sins, distresses, physical sufferings, mental tribulations and ghostly hurdles are eradicated.

Chandraghanta is one who establishes justice and discipline in the world. The color of her body is golden; she rides on the lion that represents dharma (righteousness, right conduct); she possesses ten hands and three eyes; eight of Her hands display weapons while the remaining two are respectively in the mudras of boon giving and stopping harm. Chandraghanta is posed as if to be ready for war. Chandra+Ghanta means supreme bliss and knowledge, showering peace and serenity, like cool breeze in a moonlit night.

Mars and the Feminine
We mentioned earlier that Mars has Shakti as his instrument. The Kuja (Mars) Gayatri speaks of Mars as shakti hastaya dheemahi, that Mars carries the flag of Shakti, which is feminine in nature and represented by Goddess Durga. Mars is the son of Bhoomi Devi, Mother Earth, which also makes Mars vehicle or carrier of the feminine shakti.

Durga is the Goddess of War; Mars is the warrior serving the Goddess. Mars is the General, the warrior in chief. Mars is Bhoomi Putra, Son of Mother Earth. The role of shakti which Mars has – as Son of the Earth Mother – becomes more directed towards transformation. Force, Power and Command may be directed towards understanding, collaboration, devising alternate strategies to negativity, wars and conflicts. This is ParaShakti, the Mother Goddess, in action.

Significance of Navaratri
The term “Devi” thus represents the Divine Power which has taken the Rajasic form to suppress the evil forces and protect the Satvic qualities. When the forces of injustice, immorality and untruth have grown to monstrous proportions and are indulging in a death dance, when selfishness and self-interest are rampant, when men have lost all sense of kindness and compassion, the Atmic principle, assuming the form of Shakti (energy/ power), taking on the Rajasic quality, seeks to destroy the evil elements. This is the inner meaning of the Festival. When the Divine Goddess is in dreadful rage assumes a fearful form, to pacify the dreaded Goddess, her feminine children offer worship to Her with red kumkum (sacred powder). The Goddess seeing the blood-red kumkum at Her feet, feels assured that the wicked have been vanquished and assumes Her benign form. The inner meaning of the worship of “Devi” with red kumkum is that thereby the Goddess is appeased. During the ten days of Navaratri and Dassera the demons in the form of wicked qualities have been routed. Rakshasas (demons) do not mean demonic beings. Arrogance is a demon. Bad thoughts are demons”. (Sai Baba, SS, 11/91, pp. 284 – 285)

Mysterious #Portland | The #Sacred #Landscape & Legacy of Britain’s Masonic Isle | #Megalithomania
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r82Qrb4OK-w

The Isle of Portland in #Dorset was known as the ‘Gibraltar of Wessex’, a giant wedge of layered limestones and flint famous for supplying stone for rebuilding London after the Great Fire. However, it is also a liminal place of supernatural occurrences, which has blended into the very fabric of the island with remarkable sacred geometry between its churches, chapels and landscape contours. Gary explains the mysteries in context with the latest research of intelligent energies and that the unique situation and fabric of the island is the cause of many of its mysteries. He also reveals why the #megalithic peoples built so many of their monuments on the high plateaux of the island.

Gary Biltcliffe is an international author, speaker and tour guide on Britain’s sacred sites and the hidden mysteries of earth energies. He is co-author of The Spine of Albion, The Power of Centre and The Spirit of Portland. His knowledge of ancient civilisations and the Freemasons have helped to reveal new discoveries on Portland that have stretched his beliefs to the very limits and inspired this new book on Britain’s Masonic Isle. https://belinusline.com/

The energy of the Sri Aadhi Narayana Perumal temple is known to attract the blessing of the mythical bird, Garuda, carrying Lord Vishnu as Lord Sri Aadhi Narayana Perumal. Brihu advised the emperor to create a festival to honor Lord Vishnu at this temple, in which he should carry Vishnu on the vehicle of a lion, a bull, a peacock, a swan and a sheep. #Krittika #nakshatra ("The #Cutter”) (26°40′ to 30°00′Aries & 30°00′ to 40°00′ Taurus)

In the night sky, Krittika nakshatra is visible as a cluster of six stars known as the #Pleiades. In Vedic astrology, Krittika resides in the sign of Aries as well as Taurus. The name Krittika translates as, "one who cuts" and the symbol is a #razor or #sharp object. Thus, a critical nature with both creative and destructive tendencies is displayed by this #star.

Krittika is also represented by the element of fire as the presiding deity is #Agni, the god of #fire. Those born under this star are combative with a fiery disposition. Krittikanak shatranatives have an adventurous spirit and are constantly looking to fuel their fire with new information and experiences. Physical activity and an energetic demeanor are characteristic of those born under this nakshatra. Kartikeya (Muruga), who was raised by the six (the stars of Pleiades) of the six sages, is also associated with Krittika. There is a nurturing quality to this star, which is often hidden behind a tough exterior. Those born under this nakshatra are commonly involved with teaching or universities. They may have a sharp tongue and dislike imperfection, yet they have amazing will power, independence and the capacity to support others. This is a star of courage, awareness and purification.

Kanjhanaaharam Sri Ghatra Sundareswarar

The temple which is most significant for Krittika nakshatra is located in the village of Kanjhanaaharam, near Mayiladuthurai in Tamil Nadu, India. This shrine is the most auspicious temple for those born under Krittika and they should visit this shrine to make offerings to Lord Shiva.

At this sacred vortex, Lord Shiva appears in the form of Sri Kathra Sundareswarar. The word Kathra translates as "to endure with eminent capability." Lord Shiva was in a state of stillness while performing Kathra Jyoti Yoga. Goddess Parvati offered a golden tender coconut while performing penance which allowed Shiva to attain deep serenity. It was in this deep state of Kathra Jyoti Yoga that Shiva emerged as Sri Kathra Jyoti Peruman and Goddess Parvati arose from the gold tender coconut as Sri Tungabala Sthanambighai. Karthika Sundareswarar has the ability to produce six brilliant lights known as Karthigam light, through which Lord Muruga originated.

The #Goddess, Sri Tungabla Sthanambighai, is personified at this #sacred #temple with the Keera Sathra parrot on her left should. This parrot chants the Vedas and the gives darshan known as VedmirthaKeeran. It is auspicious for girls of a mature age to receive this darshan before entering marriage. In addition, water from the sacred river Tungabhatra should be used to perform an abhishekam for the Goddess. #Ashwini (" #Horsewoman") (0°00' - 13°20' Aries)

Each #star we see in the night sky is a burning hot sun, much like our own #Sun. In astronomy, the twin signs that make up the #nakshatra of Ashwini are called Alpha Arietis and Beta Arietis. Indeed, the ruling deities for Ashwini nakshatra

In #VedicAstrology are the #divine #twin physicians – the #AshwiniKumaras. While people born under Ashwini may traditionally take up a career in #medicine, they also innately carry a #healing energy and their ability to heal others through prayer is greatly enhanced.

The Ashwini Kumaras have a youthful appearance and bestow this ageless presence along with a charming innocence to those born under Ashwini. The symbol for this star is a horse’s head, which signifies power, dignity and swiftness. As the first star in the cycle of the nakshatras, Ashwini carries the energy of beginnings. Those born under Ashwini hold the ability to initiate or pioneer ideas and activities.

They must be cautious as not to begin something they cannot finish. A person born under Ashwini nakshatra is known as the quickest of all nakshatras and behaves in a direct and to-the-point manner. Just like an untamed horse, they can be confident and independent but do not like to be told what to do. Ashwini gives focus to self-improvement and wants to feel unique among its peers. This is a spontaneous star with active intelligence and sincerity.
enter image description here
The #sacred #temple that resonates with the Ashwini nakshatra is located in a village called #Thiruthuraipoondi in Tamil Nadu, India. Those born under Ashwini star should visit this temple as frequently as possible.

The name "Sri Bhava Aushadeeswarar" temple refers to a form of Lord Shiva. "Sri" is a #mantra giving respect and good fortune, "Bhava" means state of mind and "Aushadeeswara" means Lord of medicine who cures disease. Sri Bhava Aushadeeswarar temple is a sacred vortex filled with disease-curing energy.

People born under the Ashwini nakshatra should perform a pooja or abishekam with sacred herbs (there are #64 elementary herbal substances) on their Ashwini day in order to strengthen their inner light and healing capabilities. People born under other stars can also receive healing benefits to recover from illness by performing a pooja or abishekam on Tuesday, Saturday, Ashwini star day. These rituals also benefit the holy waters surrounding the temple and create medicinal qualities in the temple pond, streams, lakes and surrounding vegetation. It is beneficial for visitors to take a holy bath in the temple pond and receive the blessings for #health benefits.

The Temple of God -- The Human Body Itself

The Sacred Secret -- Secretion

Jacob's Ladder -- The Spine

The Tree of Life is not a physical place.

The Tree of Life is your cerebrospinal system.

The real place of #Salvation is your own body, the human form.

"Jacob's Ladder was not a real event that some man named Jacob witnessed, Jacob's Ladder was an allegory that talked about the spine. The Ladder that angels went up and down are the THIRTY THREE vertebrae of the spine, and angels are angles of light. They are also called "messengers" in Hebrew. The point is that Jacob's Ladder is not a story of a man named Jacob.

When you read multiple spiritual traditions from all over the world from sacred texts, you can't help but realise that they're always talking in metaphor, or parable, or allegory. So, the bible should be no different. There's certain people that want to take it literally, but you're talking about something spiritual. The only way to get at something abstract is to put it in some sort of language, some sort of story, some sort of way to reference the context of it. So, the spiritual texts are almost always referring to some sort of metaphor.
...

There's two meanings. There is The Ladder which is the human spine in which the prodigal son of the sacred oil -- or Christos -- travels up and down to offer healing and enlightenment to the human form. Then, there's also the Heel Catcher. The word -- the name, Jacob, and in very ancient zodiacs, you'll see a man drawn in the center of them where his back is arched and his heels circle around and touch the back of his head to create a circle. And, that's what the word "Jacob" means: "The Man in The Sky" which refers to the Zodiac which is a reflection of the time cycle of the human body."
