#Elder’s #Meditation of the Day April 3

“We know that in all creation, only the human family has strayed from the Sacred Way.”

#OJIBWA #Prayer

#How have we gotten so far off track?

What has happened to us?

What is happening to our family?

How did it happen so quickly?

Every individual needs to answer these questions for themselves.

What do we need to do to start living the #Sacred #Way again?

#Pray! Today I will start praying. I pray the Creator will lead all Native People to a #great #healing. I pray we’ll be free from alcohol and drugs. I pray we will return to the culture, to spirituality and to #unity.

My Mother, help us to heal ourselves. Make us strong again.

Nearly 10 years after the original posting of this thread I believe the message in the OP is coming to full ripeness.

I know many here and across the earth can feel the wisdom in these words intuitively, but now the urgency is at maximum, the sand in the hourglass nearly drained.

The fast flowing river is now a torrent and will soon break its banks. Better we let go of the shore voluntarily then try to hold on and risk being torn apart.

The message warrants another deeper reading at this time.

We are the ones we have been waiting for!

A #Hopi #Elder #Speaks

"You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh Hour, now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour. And there are things to be considered . . .

Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Know your garden.
It is time to speak your Truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader."

Then he clasped his hands together, smiled, and said, "This could be a good time!"

"There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly.

"Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above water. And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, Least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

"The time for the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from you attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

"We are the ones we've been waiting for."

“Things would go well for us if we would think positively about everything.”

–Mary Hayes, CLAOQUOT

Each of our thoughts are like individual seeds. These thoughts will plant our life garden. Whatever our thoughts, they grow in our gardens. Each day we will process about 50,000 thoughts or thought seeds.

Positive thoughts will produce positive results. Have you ever been aware of what you are thinking about during the day? Of the possible 50,000 thoughts in one day – if the positive thoughts were flowers and the negative thoughts were weeds – how would your garden look at the end of the day?

#Great-Spirit, let me plant positive seeds.

#Elder's #Meditation of the Day October 17

"Peace... comes within the souls of men when they realize their relationship, their oneness, with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the Universe dwells Wakan-Tanka, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us."

--Black Elk (Hehaka Sapa) OGLALA SIOUX

If we are to know peace we must look within ourselves. In order to do this, we must learn to be still. We must quiet the mind. We must learn to meditate. Meditation helps us locate and find the center that is within ourselves. The center is where the Great One resides. When we start to look for peace, we need to realize where it is within ourselves. When we experience conflict we need to pause for a moment and ask the Power within ourselves, "How do you want me to handle this? What would you suggest I do in this situation?"

By asking the Higher Power for help we find peace.

Creator, help me to find peace.

#Elder’s #Meditation of the Day March 31

“The old #Lakota was wise. He knew that man’s heart away from nature becomes hard; he knew the lack of respect for growing, living things soon led to a lack of respect for humans too. So he kept his youth close to its softening influence.”

–Luther #StandingBear, OGLALA SIOUX #quote

When we live in nature it’s like constantly being in school. We are in an environment that is always teaching. We are constantly being reminded that there are laws, Natural Laws, which are running the universe. Once we know these laws and we drift from them, we start to live our lives in a different way.

Soon we become discontent, selfish, and disrespectful. Then, we get in trouble.

If our lives have become this way, it can be reversed by going back to nature to be among our teachers.

#GreatSpirit, teach men, again, the Natural Laws.
