#webcam

mkwadee@diasp.eu

As prompted by @Noam Bergman, I've been keeping an eye on a #webcam trained on the #nest of a pair of #ospreys in #Scotland. Most of the time, one #bird is sitting on a solitary #egg while the other is out hunting, I suppose. Like most of life, things are a bit dull and all you see is a bird sitting patiently on the nest, incubating its egg.

A few minutes ago, the nesting #osprey started screeching and so I switched over to that tab to see what was going on. Its mate arrived with a fish for the other to feed on and the pair swapped roles. The nesting #bird flew away with the fish to feed on it somewhere else.

Here's a couple of screen captures of the change over.

Kann mir jemand dazu was sagen?

Bei den Logitech Brio Modellen frage ich mich außerdem, wo da genau die Unterschiede sind.

Assistive Tech: Blink your eyes in Morse code to type using a webcam

Bild/Foto
Most of us use our hands to interface with computers, but the human body is capable of many types of input other than that of fingers and feet. But what about people who can’t use their extremities and don’t have a voice? For their sake, it’s time to get creative.

This works with just an old webcam thanks to the new trans-consciousness messaging protocol, which operates by using facial detection and then interpreting the amount of changed pixels between video frames.

This store in Taiwan has insecure webcams open to the world, okay-ish VPN streaming capacity testing material (around 14mbps). Store staff seem rather busy selling bread, buns, and gift packages: they have a large table full of noms you'd buy for Chinese New Year on display.

See the counter and cashier http://www.insecam.org/en/view/970860/

See the finely arranged table of CNY noms and gift packages http://www.insecam.org/en/view/970994/

Here's a 90° titled view if you're on mobile http://www.insecam.org/en/view/971000/

Don't watch all three streams over an extended time, it seems their internet connection is sub-par for the use case they do not know they have.

Zoom Zero Day: 4+ Million Webcams & maybe an RCE? Just get them to visit your website!

A vulnerability in the Mac Zoom Client allows any malicious website to enable your camera without your permission. The flaw potentially exposes up to 750,000 companies around the world that use Zoom to conduct day-to-day business.

Ultimately, Zoom failed at quickly confirming that the reported vulnerability actually existed and they failed at having a fix to the issue delivered to customers in a timely manner. An organization of this profile and with such a large user base should have been more proactive in protecting their users from attack.

“Stomach Shot” Halloween Costume

Wed, 12 Nov 2014 06:00:48 +0000, by Josh Marsh

Halloween may have come and gone, but [Luis] sent us this build that you'll
want to check out. An avid _Walking Dead _fan, he put in some serious effort
to an otherwise simple bloody t-shirt and created this see-through "stomach
shot" gunshot wound.

The project uses a Raspi running the Pi
Camera
 script to
feed video from a webcam on the back of his costume to a 7″ screen on the
front. [Luis] attached the screen to a GoPro chest harness—they look a bit
like suspenders—to keep it centered, then built up a layer of latex around the
display to … Read more

How to Backup and Restore Your IP Camera Firmware

Wed, 12 Nov 2014 03:01:00 +0000, by Rick Osgood

[Filipe] has been playing around with custom firmware for inexpensive IP
cameras. Specifically, he has been using cameras based on a common HI3815
chip. When you are playing around with firmware like this, a major concern is
that you may end up bricking the device and rendering it useless. [Filipe] has
documented a relatively simple way to backup and restore the
firmware
on these
cameras so you can hack to your heart's content.

The first part of this hack is hardware oriented. [Filipe] cracked open the
camera to reveal the PCB. The board has labeled serial TX and RX pads. … Read
