2 Russians running GRU safe house in Greece outed as spies

Two Russian-born #Czech citizens ran a #hotel in northern #Greece that doubled as a #SafeHouse for an infamous unit of Russia's military intelligence agency (GRU) as it carried out #bombings and #poisonings across Europe, an investigation by The Insider has found.

Husband and wife Nikolay and Elena #Saposnikov ran the Villa Elena, a three-story hotel in #Frama, Halkidiki, which, according to the report, hosted members of the #Kremlin's "most grimly accomplished #assassination and #sabotage squad," Unit #29155, on a regular basis for the last 15 years.

Czechia warns Russia is trying to sabotage railways in Europe

Russia is actively trying to sabotage European railways by hacking into their signaling systems, #Czech Transport Minister Martin Kupka said to the Financial Times (FT)

Russia has engaged in a variety of disruptive behavior toward Europe, often using its cyber capabilities to target civilian infrastructure.

Kupka said that Russia has made "thousands of attempts to weaken our (railway) systems" since the beginning of the full-scale war.

HOLOCAUST IN CZECH LANDS
The Holocaust in Bohemia and Moravia resulted in the deportation, dispossession, and murder of most of the pre-World War II population of Jews in the Czech lands that were annexed by Nazi Germany between 1939 and 1945.

  • Before the Holocaust, the Jews of Bohemia were among the most assimilated and integrated Jewish communities in Europe; antisemitic prejudice was less pronounced than elsewhere on the continent. The first anti-Jewish laws in Czechoslovakia were imposed following the 1938 Munich Agreement and the German occupation of the Sudetenland. In March 1939, Germany invaded and partially annexed the rest of the Czech lands as the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. More anti-Jewish measures followed, imposed mainly by the Protectorate administration (which included both German and Czech officials). Jews were stripped of their employment and property, required to perform forced labor, and subject to discriminatory regulations including, in September 1941, the requirement to wear a yellow star. Many were evicted from their homes and concentrated into substandard housing.

  • Some 30,000 Jews, from the pre-invasion population of 118,310, managed to emigrate. Most of the remaining Jews were deported to other Nazi-controlled territories, starting in October 1939 as part of the Nisko plan. In October 1941, mass deportations of Protectorate Jews began, initially to Łódź Ghetto. Beginning in November 1941, the transports departed for Theresienstadt Ghetto in the Protectorate, which was, for most, a temporary stopping-point before deportation to other ghettos, extermination camps, and other killing sites farther east. Czech President Petr Pavel said on March 7 that after Norway had joined the Czech-led initiative on purchasing 800,000 artillery shells for Ukraine, the required funds were collected

Pavel said 18 countries participated in the Czech-led allied initiative, and "within weeks," Ukraine would get the ammunition.

It took less than a week after the first news of Iranian anti aircrafts and cruise missiles that the propaganda machine of Pentagon/Ukraine put the blame of Russian shooting down 14 helicopters and fighter jets of Ukraine in the past 2 weeks on the Iranian Karrar drone!

The war in Ukraine is not going well, neither for Russia nor Ukraine. The losses are astronomical both in material and staff Ukraine is blowing up Russian tanks, artillery and rocket launchers with their western supplied missiles and drones and Russia has been doing the same, but also shooting down more and more of Ukrainian fighter jets and military helicopters.

For Ukraine, the #Gaza conflict has been the worst while the election of anti Ukrainian leaders in #Czech republic and US are making it harder for them to receive a blank check and unlimited supply of weapons.

In the mean time they keep trying to blame Iran for their failure so they can get more sympathy from the people who are high on emotions right now.

I had mentioned this arcade in Prague, in another discussion about Nikola Tesla, whose birthday (1856) was today, 10 June.

In another arcade/mall between buildings on Wenceslas Square, Prague, there is a huge stained-glass tribute to Tesla.

I finally managed to find my favorite image of that; it too had been swallowed up by the black hole of #GooglePlus.
