Darker-Boxy is a color scheme for the official Hubzilla redbasic theme. The files are to be put in /view/theme/redbasic/schema by a admin.

To activate it on a channel, users will have to go to /settings/display of their hub and select it in the "Set color palette" menu. If he/she wants, in the personal settings of the theme, he/she can set the value 64 in the field "Set maximum width of content region in rem".

Darker-Boxy est un schéma de couleurs pour le thème officiel #Hubzilla redbasic. Les fichiers sont à mettre dans /view/theme/redbasic/schema par un admin.

Pour l'activer sur un canal, les utilisateurs devront se rendre à /settings/display de leur hub et le sélectionner dans le menu "Définir la palette de couleurs". Vor zwei, drei Jahren habe ich mal in irgendeiner Diskussion hier gelesen, dass die #Diaspora Entwickler sich bewusst gegen eine Implementierung des #ActivityPup Protokolls entschieden haben. Hat sich die Meinung mittlerweile geändert und wird daran gearbeitet, sich dem übrigen #Fediverse anzuschließen?

Als ich vor über zehn Jahren die dezentralen Netzwerke entdeckte, gab es im großen und ganze nur Diaspora, #GnuSocial und so ein paar kleiner Projekte wie z.B. #Friendica. Nach einer kurzen Zeit auf Diaspora bin ich dann zu Friendica gewechselt, weil ich da mit relativ geringem Aufwand eine eigene Instanz betreiben konnte.

Aber Diaspora war eigentlich immer das große dezentrale soziale OpenSource Netzwerk. Dann kam vor ein paar Jahren #Mastodon mit dem ActivityPub Protokoll und in einer rasenden Geschwindigkeit ploppten dann mehr und mehr Projekte auf, die alle mehr oder weniger gut zusammen sprechen können. Und auch die Nutzerzahlen des Fediverse gingen steil in die Höhe (soweit man das im Fediverse überhaupt messen kann). Nur Diaspora stagniert in meiner Wahrnehmung seitdem leider. Und ich fürchte, dass sich Diaspora langsam zu einem sehr kleinen Nischennetzwerk zurück entwickeln wird, wenn es sich nicht mit den anderen Netzwerken verbinden kann. Was ich sehr schade finden würde (auch wenn ich auf Diaspora nur einen Testaccount habe), da ich das schlichte Konzept von Diaspora schon sehr schön finde.

Kennt irgendjemand noch #Libertree? Meines wissens ein Diaspora Fork mit einer damals netten Oberfläche und mit ein paar Funktionen mehr, als es auf Diaspora damals gab. Leider hat sich Libertree schon sehr früh dagegen entschieden, mit anderen Netzwerken zu interagieren und ist ziemlich in der Versenkung verschwunden und ich hoffe mal, dass das mit Diaspora nicht passieren wird.

Multiple accounts client for multiple social networks

#Anxiety kicking in:

The #web is dead, websites don't exist anymore, all there is are toxic content platforms and unreadable, often harmful malware noise (i.e. lacking information) masked as "websites".

What's worse, a good web browser doesn't exist, plus browsers cannot be installed or compiled on my OS due to #bloat. For the "web" without #javascript there are still usable browsers such as Netsurf or Lynx.

So, I'm thinking a radical step needs to be made:

I need to leave the JavaScript web. Sadly, this is not so easy to do, because:

• I love the diaspora community, it's my only place to communicate with like-minded individuals, without censorship. But it requires JS. What to do? I'm thinking about moving to #GNUSocial again.
• As much as I hate to admit it, I kind of need #YouTube, e.g. for learning #spanish from videos and watching genuinely interesting and enriching videos. #Freetube isn't an option, it doesn't work on my OS due to #bloat. I'm thinking about creating a set of scripts that would utilize #RSS, yt-download and maybe even SponsorBlock database and #ffmpeg to download me latest videos from the channels I want to follow.
• The open console communities which use JS-based "websites". Without JS they become read-only. I could live with that probably.
• Here and there JS is useful and actually needed, e.g. I want to play online #chess with #lichess. Also I sometimes need to do banking and similar stuff. Here I think I should just address each of these specifically, replace everything I can with offline programs (e.g. play against stockfish offline) and just fall back to a web browser if I really need to (banking etc.).
• Simple browsers lack support for addons such as ad blockers. But there are way around, e.g. via /etc/hosts.

If I could manage to do these, I would just switch to a nice no-JS browser with #wiby as a search engine while still having a fallback JS browser installed. It seems like a lot of work, but let's see.
