Die Ermittlungen zum mittlerweile als „#Pfizer-Gate“ bezeichneten Skandal rund um den per SMS ausgehandelten „Privatvertrag“ zwischen #EU-Kommissionspräsidentin von der #Leyen und dem Pfizer-Chef #Bourla haben eine neue Stufe erreicht. Wie das US-Magazin #Politico berichtet, hat nun die #EU-Staatsanwaltschaft die Ermittlungen von der belgischen Staatsanwaltschaft übernommen. Das ist insofern bemerkenswert, da die erst 2021 gegründete EU-Staatsanwaltschaft auf strafrechtliche Ermittlungen zulasten des EU-Budgets spezialisiert ist. Offenbar sehen die obersten europäischen #Korruptionsbekämpfer hier einen begründeten Anfangsverdacht auf eine schwere Straftat gegen die oberste Chefin der EU. Für deutsche #Medien ist dies alles jedoch kein Thema.

California introduces first-in-nation slavery reparations package

The set of bills notably excludes direct cash payments.

SACRAMENTO, California — California state lawmakers introduced a slate of reparations bills on Wednesday, including a proposal to restore property taken by “race-based” cases of eminent domain and a potentially unconstitutional measure to provide state funding for “specific groups.”

The package marks a first-in-the-nation effort to give restitution to Black Americans who have been harmed by centuries of racist policies and practices. California’s legislative push is the culmination of years of research and debate, including 111-pages of recommendations issued last year by a task force.

Other states like Colorado, New York, and Massachusetts have commissioned reparations studies or task forces, but California is the first to attempt to turn those ideas into law.

The 14 measures introduced by the Legislative Black Caucus touch on education, civil rights and criminal justice, including reviving a years-old effort to restrict solitary confinement that failed to make it out of the statehouse as recently as last year.

Not included is any type of financial compensation to descendants of Black slaves, a polarizing proposal that has received a cool response from many state Democrats, including Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Le magazine “Politico” a enquêté sur le fonctionnement de la chaîne proche du Kremlin depuis l’entrée en vigueur des sanctions européennes contre la Russie. Le média est aujourd’hui menacé de faillite, à la suite du gel de ses avoirs en décembre. Mais il n’a jamais cessé de produire des contenus.

Douze mois après, le site d’information #Politico résume : “La chaîne soutenue par le Kremlin a continué à déverser un flot de #désinformation sur la guerre en Ukraine depuis ses locaux de la banlieue parisienne.”

A former D.C. National Guard official is accusing two senior Army leaders of lying to Congress and participating in a secret attempt to rewrite the history of the military's response to the Capitol riot.

In a 36-page memo, Col. Earl Matthews, who held high-level National Security Council and Pentagon roles during the Trump administration, slams the Pentagon's inspector general for what he calls an error-riddled report that protects a top Army official who argued against sending the National Guard to the Capitol on Jan. 6, delaying the insurrection response for hours.
