Not The Onion: Minnesota National Guard Red Bulls Deploy to Middle East

🔶️ Thursday, the Minnesota National Guard’s 34th Infantry Division “Red Bulls” and their family members and friends will gather for a deployment ceremony where more than 550 Soldiers of the division’s headquarters will deploy as part of a regularly scheduled deployment.

🔶️ Spanning across 216 communities throughout Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Virginia, Colorado, California, Florida, Louisiana, Maryland, New Jersey, and Texas, the Red Bull Soldiers will make their way to Fort Cavazos, Texas, for a month of pre-mobilization training in preparation for their ten-month-long deployment to the Middle East. They are expected to return home from the deployment in December 2024.

🔶️ The mission of the 34th Infantry Division Headquarters is to provide leadership, command, and planning for future exercises for Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve. They will build partner nations’ military capacity across the Middle East, promoting regional self-reliance and increased security.

Nothing says more NATIONAL than traveling 7000km to help Israel commit Genocide.

— US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has announced the formation of a coalition – including #Bahrain, #Canada, #France, #Italy, the #Netherlands, #Norway, the #Seychelles, Spain and the #UK – to patrol the Red Sea in response to #Houthi attacks on commercial shipping.

A Houthi official says the Yemeni rebel group will confront any such force.

The US and its allies are considering possible military strikes against Houthi rebels in #Yemen, in a recognition that a newly announced maritime task force meant to protect commercial ships in the Red Sea may not be enough to eliminate the threat to the vital waterway.

Planning is underway for actions intended to cripple the #Houthis’ ability to target commercial ships by hitting the militant group at the source, according to four people familiar with the matter who asked not to be identified discussing internal deliberations. They underscored that the US still wants diplomacy to work and hasn’t decided to go ahead.

Reuters: Exclusive: New #Taiwan #weapons package to be announced soon - US officials

— "he àUnitedStates is expected to announce as early as Friday that it will provide Taiwan with #military assistance worth more than $300 million, two U.S. officials told #Reuters, a move likely to anger #China.

Congress authorized up to $1 billion worth of Presidential #Drawdown Authority weapons aid for Taiwan in the 2023 budget.

One official, speaking on the condition anonymity, said the package is expected to be worth around $330 million.

Images and videos show smoke and fire at a site in northern Israel.

There were some rockets launched at Israel from Northern Lebanon, videos on social media show at least 2 of them were intercepted by Iron Dome, but one or more went through and hit their targets.

The explosions were heard and a massive fire been reported.

#Netanyahu is finally getting the war it's has been pushing for since he came to power, and don't be surprised if the world condemn the attacks against Israel without any mention of weeks of bombings of Syria, murder of 120 Palestinians, attacks, humiliation and torture of Palestinans by IDF and Jewish Talibans on occupied territories, not to mention 100s of homes demolished and 1000 of people including children and women put on indefinite detention by Israeli forces.

The dangerous gamble of Netanyahu to justify and push for his fascist take over of Israel with the help of Israeli KKK leader Ben Gvir is showing results!

It's just sad to see the region fall into yet another war which will result in death and destruction we have not seen before winth the risk of the conflict turning into a regional war with Israel being forced to fight on 4 fronts, unlike anything they have ever encountered before.

It's important to push for an end to these hostilities more than ever, condemning Netanyahu is the necessary first step to stop this escalation and to show that the right of defense is not limited to Israel and occupation and apartheid can not be supported or tolerated.

In the Russia phobia atmosphere of global politics, the Azeri dictator is playing a dangerous game of fishing in the muddy waters to crush the Armenian control of the enclave while counting on silence of EU and other nations in the fear of "supporting Russia".

This is a dangerous escalation of the conflict and the risk of a direct confrontation between Iran and Azerbaijan increases every day.
