#WiFi Meets #LoRa For #Long_Range

What do you get when you cross WiFi and LoRa? Researchers in China have been doing this, and they call the result #WiLo. They claim to get reliable connections over about half a kilometer. Typical WiFi runs 40 to 60 meters, barring any Pringle’s cans or other exotic tricks.

According to [Michelle Hampson] writing in IEEE Spectrum, the researchers manipulated Wi-Fi’s OFDM multiplexing to emulate LoRa’s chirp-spreading signal. The advantage is that existing WiFi hardware can use the protocol to increase range.

While LoRa is known for being economical with power, this might not be the case with repurposed WiFi devices. The researchers plan to explore ways to make WiLo more energy efficient. You can read the research paper you want to dig into the details.

#OrangePi Now has an #OpenSource #RISC-V SBC [With M.2 Slot]

source: https://news.itsfoss.com/orange-pi-rv/

TL;DR: The #CPU is too weak for a #desktop system. Without #HDMI, there are much cheaper IoT RISC-V systems.

The RISC-V chip it uses is the same one as found on the #Milk-V Mars, with Orange Pi pointing out that it can run Linux distributions, pointing to #Debian #Linux on its download page.

With Milk-V Mars, starting #Firefox takes 20 seconds under Debian. Nobody really wants to work with this #performance. You could certainly shorten the time with a very lightweight customized Linux, but it is questionable whether these adjustments will be made.

What's better is that #PCIe is on the underside, unlike the Mars, and the #Wifi is onboard.

If you are looking for a pure IoT solution without HDMI, the Milk-V Duo S is a much cheaper hardware that runs under Linux.

An open-source hacking #hardware platform based on the #RP2040 with #RF, #NFC, #USB, and #SD card ready for pen testing #research.

source: https://www.hackster.io/pablotrujillojuan/hackbat-1dfdbc

In the #cybersecurity field, engineers are always looking for vulnerabilities in order to fix them and prevent other actors could taking advantage of them. The tools used by these engineers can be expensive and, on many occasions, the tools don't fit exactly with the requirements that engineers need. In this project, I want to present an open-source hardware platform with some tools used in cybersecurity, especially in pen testing. The board is named Hackbat and features an RF transceiver, NFC communication, SD card, USB, and #WIFI. All of this is managed by the #RaspberryPI #microcontroller RP2040. The schematic and the PCB design are open-source and are available on GitHub. Let's take a part-by-part look at the #Hackbat.

#Dr. #MartinPall is Professor Emeritus from Washington State University and has researched in depth how the omnipresent electro-smog effects biological systems. He explains the dangers he found as well as the proof that the regulators threshold values are far from safe. Our Kla.TV Team had the unique chance to visit him and record a lecture about his knowledge in this field.

Did you know that there is a universe of published scientific findings that are quite underreported, making them widely unknown in the population? One example is the field of digital wireless technology. Today there are many professors and researchers warning about the harmful effects of the radiation emitted by our #smartphones, #WiFi routers, #base-stations and the such. Surf hundreds of best broadcasts - on what these experts in many cases have dedicated their lifetime to study and explain - on Kla.TV in this link:

Will the warning call reach enough open ears on time? Everybody can help this cause by sharing these facts in every day life.

Here now we present Dr. Martin Pall’s valuable speech. In the second half of this speech, he elaborates on very important studies and health observations - so stay tuned and don’t miss the end of this.See less
