#aeroplane
A little after #sunset and the #NewMoon at #dusk is approaching the #western #horizon, with #Earthshine illuminating the "dark" side. There's also #Venus there and, if you look very closely, you can also see #Saturn to the bottom right of the #planet. Add in a wisp of #cloud, an #aeroplane and its #contrail in the mid distance, #trees and a #house nearby and finish it off with a #sky turning from smoothly from deep #orange to a dark #blue and you end up with rather a nice collage. I used a #tripod to get a good #photograph here.
It has been a fine #winter #day today and the #Sun has been out for almost all of it. As it came to set, I took some #photographs of it but in the first one, I think the #Gull steals the scene.
In this second one, I think the #aeroplane and its short #contrail draw one's attention.

Looking #south-east, this #morning's #sunrise was filtered through #clouds which were illuminated #pink and #orange by the #Sun. The framing of this #photograph has a mix of natural and human-made features. There are some mysterious shapes silhouetted in the foreground and an #aeroplane leaves a #contrail in a clear portion of the #sky.
Two #photographs taken at #dusk. The first is just before #sunset with a #house and #trees in the #foreground in #silhouette. I like the #LensFlare in this #image.
The next was taken about a quarter of an hour later when the #Sun had passed over the #horizon. This illuminates to #clouds nicely. You can also see an #aeroplane and its short #contrail too.
There are two #airways above my city. One runs #east-west and the other #north-south. The previous #sunset #photograph I posted had an #aircraft flying in the former and this one is heading #north. I bet the view from the #aeroplane is probably quite spectacular but the #colours are rich from the ground too.
Three non-conspiracies in one #photograph during today's #sunset. There is a #WaxingCrescent #NewMoon, to which humans have been in my lifetime. The #contrail that a passing #aeroplane is illuminated by the setting #Sun and is made up of water droplets condenses out of hot exhaust #gases of the #JetEngines. Oh, and the #Earth is round, as is evidenced by the fact that the Sun sets at different bearings on the #horizon at different times of year and the angle at which it sets is dependent on the latitude at which you happen to live.
I was going to take a photograph of the #WaxingGibbous #Moon this afternoon and as I was going to the #east-facing side of the house, I noticed that an #aeroplane was on approach from the #west. When #winds have an #easterly component then the active #runway at the #airport is #08 and we're not far from the #GlidePath.
Of course, I didn't forget my original intention and so here is our nearest companion in the #Cosmos. I used a shutter speed of 1/5000 s and that's why the #sky looks much darker than it really appeared to the naked eye.

A corner of my drawing room has a few #holograms in it which create a novel display feature. Firstly there's one of a #microscope, the eye piece of which stick out into the room. You can actually look into it and see a magnified image of a microchip inside, It's a pity that I couldn't get the camera in the right position to show that.
Here's an #aeroplane, which happens to be a #Cessna172 viewed from different angles. The wing really appears to stick out of the plane of the image.
Finally, here's a #rose which, not only can you view from different angles, but which also opens up if you move from right to left.
