This is the current state of the #SolarEclipse from here. It will only be #partial and maximum coverage will be in about fifteen minutes' time. The clouds actually helped to filter out some of the sunlight.

Sitting outside for tea is very pleasant, especially as you can see many fleeting guests dropping by.
Here's a female #sparrow sitting momentarily on the fence before departing to eat from a neighbour's bird feeder.
This male #blackbird was singing in another neighbour's tree.
Pigeons forage on the ground, looking for seeds. This one was looking the other way.

#Birds naturally tend to move rapidly around the area and so it is sometimes difficult to be able to record the various species passing by. I often see #starlings around but not often in the #garden. In this first #photograph, you can see three of them sharing a fence with two #sparrows and a mystery bird. These #pictures span no more than about three minutes of time.
Here's more detail of the bird whose species I don't know along with its mate. Can anybody help identify it?
A minute later this #Jay arrived and because it's a predator, the other birds soon vacated the area but you could hear them sounding alarms to others. You can see that its #feathers are ruffled and so I think it has recently been in some sort of altercation.

This is a #HouseSparrow which I think lives in the loft of my own house.
I've often seen these #birds feeding off something from the underside of #rose #leaves and long suspected that they were feeding off #aphids but I used to think that they only eat #seeds.
Here's confirmation that it is indeed feeding on #greenfly. If you've ever watched the film #ABugsLife then you can appreciate how terrifying these #birds would be to tiny #insects.
I like the interplay of #shadow and #sunlight in this #photograph

After many days of cold, windy, rainy days, it's sunny are settled. There are currently around fifty #bees on this plant, which stretches about 1.5 m from discernibly different species. This #bumblebee was the biggest of the bunch which I estimate was a shade under 3 cm in length.

A couple of km away from the previous #photograph, you can see some quite lush #vegeation in #Dartmoor.

I've just been reviewing some #photographs from a few years ago. Here is one of somewhere on #Dartmoor, near #Hexworthy. I like the rather bleak beauty of the place with scant but hardy vegetation in the exposed areas. The #geology is that of weathered #granite which develop into #tors.

As the #sky was brightening but before the #sun had risen, the #Moon made its appearance in the east. It is in its #WaningCrescent #phase and probably the last time I will be able to #photograph it in this cycle (there's a storm forecast for tomorrow and it will rise very close to the time of #sunrise).
#Exposure time of 1/200 s.

It was a clear #night/morning and so I took these #photographs of #Jupiter, which is currently rising a couple of hours before #sunrise. You can clearly discern the #planet's largest #moons. The #pictures were take at around 03:20 UTC.
This first one has an #exposure time of 1/2 s and the moons are faint.
This one is a 2 s exposure and slightly blurred but the moons can be seen better.
