Iran carries out first known execution over anti-government protests
This is the first execution of people convicted of ‘waging war against God’ and being 'filth on earth' which are the common terms used by IRI since the early days of it's horror raign.
The sad news is being covered and used by the disgusting Saudi backed #IranInternational that is being quoted by so many people who believe they are receiving accurate news from Iran, but in reality, they are getting a spewed version of the events to make the crimes of IRI even worse to enrage those reading them.
The Guradian reported:
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/dec/08/iran-executes-man-23-mohsen-shekari-allegedly-stabbing-pro-regime-officer
Mohsen Shekari had been sentenced to death for allegedly blocking a street and wounding a member of the pro-regime Basij militia on 25 September, during the early phase of the protests triggered by the death in custody of Mahsa Amini.
State media published a video of what it said was Shekari’s confession, in which he appeared with a bruise on his right cheek. He admitted to striking a member of the Basij militia with a knife and to blocking a road with his motorbike alongside one of his friends.
The court found that he had used the weapon “with the intention of killing, causing terror and disturbing the order and security of society”. He appealed against the verdict, but it was upheld by the supreme court on 20 November.
Which is an accurate report of what Iranian state media had reported about his case and the reason for his sentence.
Sadly, the crimes of such cathegory are exempt from the normal procedures of judiciary in Iran and the accuse usually don't have access to legal representative nor ability to fight the decision to higher court which is the normal case in Iran even with it's limited legal rights for people condemned to death.
But the Saudi backed Iran International, covered the story differently:
https://www.iranintl.com/en/202212088960
The Tasnim news agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, identified the person who was executed as Mohsen Shekari but gave no more details. The specific actions Tasnim mentioned as reasons for Shekari’s death sentence cannot be independently verified.
The report they refer to did clearly indicate the ground for the decision with details, but it's true that the accusations could not be verified by other sources.
Later in the same article, they actually say what they denied 2 paragraphs earlier:
Judiciary spokesman Masoud Setayeshi announced on Tuesday that five people indicted in the killing of a Basij militia member, Rouhollah Ajamian, were sentenced to death in a verdict which they can appeal.
This is a sad and disgusting action by the regime who is stepping up it's crackdown on protesters and targeting those who were involved in many confrontations with Basij and Police that has led to death of some 40 of them including several high ranking IRGC commanders assassinated by masked men on motorcycles.
I am afraid this execution is just the first of many more to come and will only escalate the conflict and push Iran more towards another bloody conflict like those in the 3 years of terror between 1981 and 1983.
