It is like clock work, always the same lies: The Israeli military suspects that munitions or some other combustible substance caused a secondary explosion and subsequent fire at a complex housing displaced Gazans in Rafah, following an airstrike aimed at two top Hamas assets.

The incident resulted in the deaths of Palestinian civilians, and an investigation is ongoing.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had been tracking Hamas commanders Yassin Rabia and Khaled Najjar prior to the strike on the compound in the Tel Sultan neighborhood in western Rafah on Sunday night. According to #IDF intelligence, the area had been utilized for Hamas activities, including a nearby rocket launcher.

The military clarified that the strike occurred outside the designated โ€œhumanitarian zoneโ€ in the al-Mawasi region, which is over a kilometer away from the targeted compound. Steps were taken to ensure no civilians, particularly women and children, were present in the Hamas compound at the time of the attack.

Israeli fighter jets employed two small munitions, each carrying a 17-kilogram warhead, to minimize the risk of civilian casualties due to the proximity to the camp for displaced Palestinians.

Initial investigations by the IDF indicate that the two small missiles alone would not have been sufficient to ignite the fire. The probe suggests that ammunition, weapons, or other materials stored in the vicinity may have caused a secondary explosion and the resulting fire.

In #GeneralElections in the #UK, the most you can do is vote for your #ConstituencyMP. So if you want to get rid of the #Tories, the best thing to do is vote for the party most likely to unseat them locally where possible. Obviously if you're in a safe non-Tory then you can vote for who you like but in marginals and even in relatively safe #Tory seats, #TacticalVoting might be your best option.

IDF has again escalated its bombing of the #Gaza Strip in the last 30 minutes, especially in #Rafah.

In Rafah now, airstrikes and artillery shelling are continuously targeting various sections of western and central Rafah, with artillery shells hitting citizen's homes. Dozens of shells have been fired. Machine gun fire from helicopters targets the eastern and southeastern areas of Rafah.

Moments ago, an airstrike also targeted Bureij camp in the central #Gaza Strip.

The decision to bomb a crowded displaced camp in order to kill two Hamas activists needs to be investigated by the International Criminal Court.

These investigations, as they are ongoing, deal with details and not mainly - decision makers and policy makers, the political rank and command that outlines the policies of attacking citizens, widespread destruction and population starvation have not been investigated and will not be investigated by israel
Following the global shock of the widespread killing in the camp, the Prime Minister, IDF spokesman and chief military prosecutor said that israel will investigate the events.
The Chief Military Prosecutor said the incident would be investigated by the "Chief Investigation Mechanism", a body Israel established after previous investigative mechanisms it was operating were found to not meet the most basic standards โ€“ of effectiveness, professionalism, objective, and transparency. In fact, it is another cover up tool.
As documented in studies by Bt'Selem and other human rights organizations, investigations of this kind are intended to create a false representation of internal investigation, in order to prevent the International Criminal Court from intervening and independently investigating the events.
Bt'Selem explained and fished that Israel does not want and can't investigate its actions in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Cohenโ€™s covert contacts with Bensouda took place in the years leading up to her decision to open a formal investigation into alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in occupied Palestinian territories.
