There is a tall pine tree high above the valley and, my neighbour Helmuth et moi often wonder that the horizontal branch at the top is not breaking with even a heavy snow load...
had to get up at 5:20a as I had to put up to the street the compost and ash bin, saw heavy snow fall... took me some time for shovelling as the branches of my two Yew trees were hanging down to the ground by the weight of the wet snow, that blocked my whole entrance...

When we stayed in Altaussee in September we made a trip to the Ödensee nearby and hiked around it.
The Ödensee, with a surface area of 20 hectares, is one of the smaller lakes in the Salzkammergut. It is however, a popular spot for swimming in summer.
The Ödensee is a natural lake in the Salzkammergut. It’s located at 776 meters in the municipality of Pichl-Kainisch, Styria, and has a maximum depth of about 19 meters. It is a so-called forest moorland lake.
The Edge of Time
On the edge of time I sit,
Snow in the mind, white the front.
The sense of plain old is lost,
in the fading of yesterday's trace,
And insanity keeps within bounds.Above the heart it is easier to think,
The gaze is balanced with joy.
You no longer play with fire,
For embers reign in the halls.
Enough the one candle keeping dreary
Gloom strictly within bounds.20221203 YA

Milan P. from Olomouc et moi... mid nineties outside stone mill. Milan halped me a lot to renovate the forge, worked hard with the jackhammer for the basis of the 7ton pneumatic hammer called Golem; regarding to my teacher Milan was a human pneumatic hammer...
In case any of you is interested in the art of forging, there is this video about Alfred F. Habermann and his skills. He was my teacher in metal and fire. The video was produced by the Bavarian TV company 1993, and luckily Jose Valero uploaded it again.
And, additionally, a video about his wonderful hammers, now produced by Angele.
Both videos are in German only.

Our little birch tree has grown up to 2,8m / 9.19ft; Andrea et moi are very fond of it. Next year we will take away the stick.
I had posted the original birch tree in the coke container 6 months ago.
Mid nineties Peter and me won the 2nd prize in an art competition in Neumarkt i.d. OPf, Germany. The task was to design the inner courtyard of the local high school... I designed the octagon and the waterfall with the water coming from underneath the sculpture. The inox work was done by a friend from the Linz Kunstuni. The granite squares are 700x700 mm / 27.6x27.6in. It is Aalfanger granite
In the middle on a granite stand there is Peter's sculpture, named Karyatide.
3 of my tourmalines, 2 of them achroites although, the middle one is not totally clear.
the black stone is a granite from the Pyrénées-Orientales, underneath lies a copper magnet in heart shape, and the little thing to the right is a yin-yang bean

... scanned some old photos... this was Franz Brežina, my grandpa, in a wooden tub in our garden, mid fifties... I remember the day he died June 30th, 1957. It was a sunday and all blinds were down when the telegram messenger brought the message. I deeply loved him - I still love him - and it was hard for me to accept. Then I was 6 years old.
… looking down to the forge through a window in my kitchen. it was from a Swiss villa, I took home after working there. the full brass handles are worth more than the whole thing… those crazies had torn out all windows of that luxurious villa and dumped them in a container; if I had had a bigger car I would have taken them all :D
