► Wat betekent dat nieuwe woord?

In deze periode van coronacrisis gaat het om een persoon, buiten de eigen huisgenoten, met wie men een nauw contact mag hebben, zonder afstand, zonder mondkapje. Het woord dateert nog maar van begin oktober, toen de minister van Volksgezondheid Frank Vandenbroucke de eerste keer dit woord in de mond nam. Sindsdien heeft dit neologisme veel succes gehad in de hele wereld!

► What does this new word mean?

In this corona period, every Belgian is allowed to have one 'knuffelcontact', who is permitted to enter the home while all other outsiders are banned from doing so. It’s a personal right, but only one 'knuffelcontact' may be admitted to the household at the same time. Social distancing with a 'knuffelcontact' is not required. This new word first came to prominence in October when Belgian health minister Frank Vandenbroucke explained the new government’s latest corona measures. 'Knuffelcontact' is now famous across the globe!

► Que signifie ce nouveau mot?

'Knuffelcontact' est un mot composé qui désigne la personne avec laquelle en dehors du cercle familial vous pouvez avoir des contacts en cette période de pandémie, sans distanciation physique et sans masque. Ce mot avait été prononcé pour la première fois par le ministre belge de la Santé publique Frank Vandenroucke. L'expression a connu un tel succès qu’on en avait même parlé à l’étranger : de l'Italie à la Chine, les gens ont été fascinés par ce néologisme!

► Was bedeutet dieses neue Wort?

Es handelt es sich um eine Person, außerhalb der eventuellen Mitglieder ihrer Familie, mit der man engen Kontakt haben darf, mindestens während der Coronakrise. Dieser Person darf man ganz normal ohne Abstandsregeln begegnen – also sind auch Händeschütteln, Umarmungen, Küsschen und alle anderen physischen Kontakte erlaubt. Interessant ist dabei, dass dieses Wort erst seit Anfang Oktober existiert. Geprägt hatte es Bundesgesundheitsminister Frank Vandenbroucke in einem Gespräch im belgischen Bundesparlament, als dieser die damals neuen Corona-Maßnahmen von Regierung, Krisenzentrum und Konzertierungsausschuss erklärte. Danach ging 'Knuffelcontact' um die Welt und tauchte in Medien in Großbritannien, China, Deutschland, Italien und in vielen anderen Ländern als sympathischer Ausdruck aus Belgien auf.

Per il secondo lockdown, il ministro belga della salute pubblica Frank Vandenbroucke ha istituito la figura del 'Knuffelcontact', un modo per vedere altre persone al di fuori di quelle con cui si vive : ogni membro di una famiglia ha diritto ad avere il suo 'knuffelcontact', chi vive da solo invece potrà averne due. Con il 'knuffelcontact' si può avere un contatto ravvicinato, senza distanziamento sociale en senza indossare una mascherina. Questa parola ha affascinato molti giornalisti in tutto il mondo.
