Ask social psychologist Phil Zimbardo about "bad apples" versus "bad barrels & barrel-makers".
IMM, Laurence O'Donnell is the embodiment of integrity, plus quite a good fit with the seeking of "context and perspective".
Even good barrels will occasionally produce bad apples, but bad barrels plus bad barrel-makers is what tips the scales toward evil.

If there are islands of responsible journalism that can speak truth to power, and ;even to apparent corruption of 'purity' in one's own ecosystem, I'm happy to see it and celebrate it. I'm thinking O'Donnell, Stephanie ("Let's get smarter" Ruhl), Wagner (who described #Muskvirus as a "free speech absolutist"), and others whose shifts I don't often see .... play on! Continue offering refuges of #truth.

#DeathSantis will make the US Florida, Haley will be rational & compassionate on the world stage, Swampy launched into an attack on the moderators/#Media (NBC) & said #MuskVirus & Tucker C. should be hosts to draw an audience.🤔.

(True, MAGATs are either in Hialeah cheering for #DeathSantis (as they've been doing, in response to his zinging every university and state other than in FL, where he has "cancelled" Palestinian groups. He goofed (not picked up) in saying he'd stop sending money to universities and have the government there defending them [um, with what money?]. Anyway, logic

Niki Haley is tearing Swarmy apart ... (the cheering caught my attention) - swiveled from Swarmy to "we need friends.... partnerships" and just tore Smarmy appoint on his attitudes towards Ukraine & Russa...

Not watching really, as at 10 all the news (MSNBC et al) will have their version of highlights and zingers. Christie now... he is definitely sounding sane and serious after Smarmy & the other guy spouting nonsense... Smarmy getting reprimanded demanding time to respond, now Ron on Putin: "When I'm President that is not going to happen..." Not going to Ukraine, shutting down the border....
🤢 "Money to process more illegal aliens... making it worse!" (So what would he do? Bomb the border? Defund that too, along with education?).

Onto international dynamics, China and Taiwan...

And onto dinner, before I lose my appetite.... In a way Smarmy is right that if the moderators were anti-extinctionist #MuskVirus and pro-looney-tunes #TuckerCarlson, they'd get some MAGAS to watch, and maybe peel off a few from Drumpf. Oh, if only....

Eh?

This sort of tracks with the buzz I've seen, interviews with the authors, and comments about this almost breathless "excuse" for bad behavior and elevation to near-sainthood of Lord #MuskVirus of #Muskville.

I've heard/read of his temperament, being bullied "at school" (super-prep or public?), and - worse - demeaned by Daddy.
But unlike #TrumpVirus and his evil set of influences, and lack of soul & brains, Elon may have bee highly sensitive (he says, Aspergian, the reason for his social-cue ignoring oafish presentation. Well, enough. He is what he is... scary enough fact.

Elon Musk posted on X tonight that he has just fired the entire 'Election Integrity Team' at X.

This unit was created to identify threats from foreign and domestic sources by "posting or sharing content that may suppress participation, mislead people about when, where, and how to participate in a civic process, or lead to offline violence during an election."

We now head into the critically important 2024 elections with no guard rails on perhaps the most influential platform in American politics. What could go wrong?

Maybe this is one of the reasons why Elon Musk bought Twitter in the first place.

This is surely a situation requiring urgent attention.
Imagine 2016 #disinformation on steroids with #MuskVirus whims and 'ideas' about #truth in his imagined ''public town square".

So, my weekend persusal of "what's happening in #media / #social media brought me to a lot of buzz/promotion re: "Tribel"
Ever hear of it? Over a million users they say, and formidable non-X feed which has banned Musk for life, FWIW.

Meanwhile, still pondering - speaking of #MuskVirus and the family legacy and ethos reminiscent of #TrumpVirus. (are they brothers from another mother?)....

So here's what a post looks like on Tribel. If it works.

"Interesting" (if not slightly nauseating) story about someone usurping the spirit and copyright, appropriating Tom Petty's "Won't Back Down"

My news/analysis catch of the day: Jen Psaki on MSNBC with Eric Swalwell. A-mazing deep breath of #truth and clarity. -
Thin-slice: Psaki played the clip of Swalwell telling 100% and profoundly clear truth to "power", as in #Gym Jordan. Calling him out for defying a subpoena for nearly 500 days as he (Jordan) snorts and prances around his own subpoenas.

Swalwell identified 3 Key Things Dems need to do, publicly and noticeably, in order to share reality and target the widespread lies being spouted via #GQP #disinformation networks like #Fox, #Newsmax, Guttr, OAN, etc. #Truth - not the "opposite platform" of MAGA-mind.

Oh, and George Santos is defending Menendex for his accepting gold bars and other bribes/gratuities. And McCarthy? (gag)...
