Taking its form as mostly a live improvisational music project, Echo Starship is heavily influenced by an experimental/psych spectrum of sounds ranging from Drone, Noise, Ambient, Contemporary Minimalist music and all the way to Post-Rock, Krautrock, IDM, Synth Wave elements.

A Limb is a kind of artistic Frankenstein, exhuming all sorts of music corpses from their graves, stitching an ambient body with funk legs, punk feet, experimental arms, jazz hands, a drone head, inserting a big ethnic music heart and krautrock lungs... then bathing the whole "body" into a dub effects bath, until an electro thunderbolt strikes it and... omg... it's... alive! Hmm.. sometimes science goes too far, but it's too late to back-pedal...

Since end of January Cat's Circus is history. I lost my musical home and a some others too. I created my own place for Music Events on my Parcel Clara's ArtGarden. The name is " Studio M ".
I will play there on different days and different times. Lets see how that works.
I know it's difficult to start something new. But I hope many of you will visit.
Additionally I'd like to invite musicians to play at my place too. If you are interested please send IM / Notecard. Restriction is " only Original and / or Live Music ". I would like to continue this tradition of Cat's Circus.

I had a #dream the other day that the Satan was coming and wanted to eat my niece. While she ran away, the rest of the family and myself tacitly agreed I would stay back and fight him (and die, of course) just to buy them some time. I was OK with that. But with me was my dog, and just before I started fighting Satan, I realized my dog had not signed up for this. So I started trying to talk Satan down of the whole thing instead of fighting. For a moment, it seemed to have worked. Then the plot of the dream changed... Funnily enough, Satan was personified as a an old (female) friend I haven't seen in a long time, who owns her own deli place. This is the second time she's in my dreams in less than a week. Last time, she was the manager of an upcoming pop-star and I, noticing she was very busy, became her personal assistant.

Anyway, dreams are fun! :)

1:00pm SLT: Echo Starship: Forming a generative spectrum of sounds in long improvised sessions, using an arbitrary selection of instruments ranging from electric guitar, prepared instruments, field recordings & samples, synthesizers, electronics, piezo microphones, and other types of “odd” instruments. It takes form as a live improvisational exploration of experimental, ambient, contemporary classical, and drone music with performances at various festivals, venues, and internet streams.

Escale art nouveau

Cette nuit j'ai rêvé d'une artiste diasponaute qui se reconnaîtra peut-être.

Je partais la nuit de mon petit appartement dans une très haute tour brutaliste. Je regardais la ville du haut du balcon. L'activité urbaine scintillait un peu comme les écrans de mes ordinateurs resté allumé dans le salon qui était aussi ma chambre. Cet endroit n'était pas grand, mais il était très haut perché. Pourtant l'appartement était assez négligé et je n'étais mécontent de partir en voyage.

Je n'ai plus tous les détails de la route, mais je suis un peu malade en voiture et je vomis à de nombreuse reprise dans celle-ci, c'est balo parce que c'est une belle Porsche 1958 356A grise...

À un moment j'arrive à ma destination : Un beau et vieux manoir Art Nouveau à la campagne ou en forêt. Du lierre grimpe sur les façades dont les pierres sont pourtant encore impeccables. Les fenêtres sont fait de vitraux ou d'un verre coloré opaque qui laisse penser que l'intérieur de la maison est très sombre.

J'attend un moment dans la cour tapissée de gravier et de quelque feuille morte jaunie. L'odeur du vomis dans la voiture est insupportable. C'est l'occasion aussi de prendre l'air parce que c'est pas la grande forme. Je ne me sens pas frais du tout. L'humidité de l'autonome ne m'aide pas à me sentir mieux mais je tache de faire bonne figure.

Celle que je suis venu chercher donc finit par sortir de son monumental manoir. Elle me propose de visiter en attendant que sa fille qui nous accompagne finisse de se préparer.

On doit se rendre à une exposition artistique où nous serons intervenant. Comme je m'en doutais l'intérieur est très sombre. La lumière naturel filtrée par les vitraux crée une atmosphère tamisé froide par endroit qui confère à l'intérieur quelque chose d'un peu gothique.

J'observe les nombreuses moulures peintes, les ornements et les dorures qui caractérise le style architectural de la maison. J'entend sa fille courir à l'étage pour se préparer et de la musique pop assourdie qui résonne. À un moment dans le couloir de l'entrée principal je remarque un profond puits de lumière dont le rayonnement irradie une douce chaleurs qui contraste avec le reste de l'atmosphère de la maison.

Je discute un peu avec ma collègue artiste. Je suis très impressionné par l'architecture intérieur. La beauté, la richesse et le soin de tous les détails du bâtiment sont noyé dans une obscurité qui requiers un temps d'adaptation pour l’œil. Le puits de lumière est donc un peu éblouissant au début. Finalement je détourne mon regard. Elle traîne toujours sa valise et rappel à sa fille de se presser un peu.

J'en profite pour regarder d'avantage autour de moi. L'endroit et immense et aussi un peu en désordre. Je remarque une bibliothèque. Il y a des livres de développement personnel et un peu de new-age. Je soupir. Je m'attarde tout de même sur certains d'entre eux dont la couverture est esthétiquement plus réussie que ce à quoi je suis habitué. Les livres sont anciens mais bien conservé. Ils semblent surfer sur la vibe révolution psychédélique. Il y aussi des ouvrages techniques sur la photographie, des rétrospectives d'artistes dont les travaux porte sur l'art déco et des portraits féminin de cette époque. je vois également des albums de photojournalisme.

Un livre épais en particulier finit par attirer mon attention plus que les autres sur sa couverture dénué d'illustration ou de photo on peut y lire le titre : "Ce que disent de nous nos rêves".
