Memorable sci-fi space book series

What are your cherished reading series in the science fiction genre where the story unfold in space?

These are my top pick of the moment:

Imperial Radch (trilogy) – by Ann Leckie
Consists of the books; Ancillary Justice, Ancillary Sword and Ancillary Mercy.
Brilliant original story and world setting, densely packed with lots of twists and turns. Bonus for the best and most unique character ever; Presger’s Translator Zeiat (who initially believed is was Translator Dlique, but Dlique had died, ahem an understandable confusion…!)

The Expanse – by James S.A. Corey
Consists of the books; Leviathan Wakes, Caliban’s War, Abaddon’s Gate, Cibola Burn, Nemesis Games, Babylon’s Ashes, Persepolis Rising, Tiamat’s Wrath and Leviathan Falls.
Entertaining and catching story, interesting world building set fairly realistic in our solar system. The protomolecule became the character that made the story, its intrigues and mystery so enjoyable.

Remembrance of Earth’s Past (trilogy) – by Cixin Liu
Consists of the books; The Three-Body Problem, The Dark Forest and Death’s End.
This one didn’t hold back. First contact story that serve as a warning. The setting unfolds nicely, it expands a lot and take you places you did not imagine your mind would go. Great original story.
The dark forest hypothesis will give you lots to think about, as such, it serve as a great “character” in this saga.

Bonus mention:
I did enjoy The Murderbot Diaries – by Martha Wells
Funny and original. a self-hacked cyborg-like construct SecUnit stuck with an introvert personality, makes for many funny, odd and awkward yet kick-ass situations.

Watched Project Blue Book over the last few days. I really enjoyed it, especially the relationship between the two protagonists. Doesn't look like they're doing a third season, which is disappointing.
Initially I thought it would be another X-Files. It's similar but perhaps more historical fiction, if the 1940's is historical LoL
I'm on the verge of getting an Apple account as it seems they have some good sci fi. In particular, For all mankind (sick) and Foundation. I adore Jared Harris and read a lot of Asimov as a kid.
It's my favourite vibe to watch teams of people, including potentially weird personalities, come together to overcome obstacles and achieve great things. A story doesn't need a war or an invasion to be interesting. A "we can do this," narrative is certainly useful right now. Even moreso because of the need for wholesome connection that so many of us are seeking, post pandemic.

"Pantheon" emerges as a groundbreaking addition to the realm of adult animated science fiction, offering a nuanced and profound exploration of digital immortality through its central concept of "Uploaded Intelligence." The series is a tapestry of rich narratives, thoughtfully entwining the lives of its characters amidst a backdrop of technological advancement and ethical conundrums. The series stands out for its unique blend of suspenseful storytelling, emotional depth, and philosophical inquiry. It challenges viewers to contemplate the ramifications of extending life beyond the physical realm, delving into themes of identity, consciousness, and the ethical boundaries of technological innovation. The animation style, rich in detail and expression, complements the narrative's complexity, bringing to life the show's futuristic vision and its underlying emotional currents.

In conclusion, "Pantheon" is not just a visually stunning piece of animation; it is a thought-provoking odyssey into the potential futures of human connection and identity in an increasingly digital world. Its intricate storytelling, combined with a profound thematic exploration, makes it a landmark series in the adult animated genre.

Enjoyable and captivating. Wow, animation can be great to watch too 😁
I liked the vision the series presented and perhaps its warning as well, we are heading in a direction where this topic will become relevant.

There are few if any #fantasies that involve #socialism, same with #anarchism. There are only a handful with #liberals. more so with #Fascism Almost all of them center around #monarchism and feudalism. There are #sci-fi with ones of all those systems as well with a higher level of leftists. #Kings, #knights, #princes and lords are all negative evil titles and characters to people on the left for good reason. However #Queen and #princess have taken on positive feminist meanings that have nothing to do with ruling others. Nestor Makhno was the closest thing to an anarchist #lord, as one could possibly be. Most male nobility terms will always have a negative meaning to the left. If say anarchism took off, would people be referring to a strong influential woman/girl in her local sustainable community/direct democracy workers counsel as a queen/princess? In leninism everyone was referred to as comrade. In the US at least we aren't so much hung up on titles though post Czarist Russia needed a cleaning of their feudalist past and deference to nobility and titles very quickly. It would be interesting how old titles will be reworked in a leftist world.

it's from 2013 - funny that they talk about a fabricated virus named Covad ;)
any kiddy can evade this restriction looking for it in the web - even a sextagenarian like me...

Ich bin kein großer Babylon-5 Fan, aber dieses #Zitat fand ich gerade klasse. :-D
