Glorious day in West Footscray today. It's going to be 20c, I'm tossing up whether to start some spring seedlings early. Tomatoes and basil typically go in the ground between show day and cup day in Melbourne. Mid September to the start of November. It's looking like being a better season for them than last year but I'm leaning towards backyard containers for the tommies just in case.

In other garden news, I've decided on a pair of granny Smith apples by the gate, because they're the sour worms of fruit and excellent to bake with. The spot under the bedroom window that has had 2 years preparation with compost will be awesome for a black grape vine and Australian currants.

This is the best year ever.

Watched Project Blue Book over the last few days. I really enjoyed it, especially the relationship between the two protagonists. Doesn't look like they're doing a third season, which is disappointing.
Initially I thought it would be another X-Files. It's similar but perhaps more historical fiction, if the 1940's is historical LoL
I'm on the verge of getting an Apple account as it seems they have some good sci fi. In particular, For all mankind (sick) and Foundation. I adore Jared Harris and read a lot of Asimov as a kid.
It's my favourite vibe to watch teams of people, including potentially weird personalities, come together to overcome obstacles and achieve great things. A story doesn't need a war or an invasion to be interesting. A "we can do this," narrative is certainly useful right now. Even moreso because of the need for wholesome connection that so many of us are seeking, post pandemic.

Mellow Saturday morning at chez Vogon. I'm about to make a second pot of lapsang souchong. Then I promise I'll put down the device and get back to the meditation I'm supposed to be doing LoL

It was such an exciting trip to Yea my mind is still going at a million miles an hour. I'll tell you about the dunny guy in another post. Callum who does public health and who worked with Ceres in Melbourne. That was a rewarding conversation.

Happy Saturday, everyone. Peace out.
