Im Moment grassiert mal wieder so eine Art Rennen um den Preis fĂŒr den gröĂten Sommerloch-Wissenschaftsbullshit - wenn man miese Gesetze wĂ€hrend der FuĂballweltmeisterschaft unterbringen kann, weil niemand hinschaut, funktioniert das ja vielleicht in den Dreckecken des Wissenschaftsjournalismus noch besser.

lautet eine andere Ăberschrift.
Wenn man genauer hinschaut, sieht man, dass dies reine Kreidechemie^*)^ ist, eine Simulation, die eine (!) notwendige (!) Bedingung gefunden haben will und weder die Frage stellt, was hinreichende Bedingungen wĂ€ren oder ob man ĂŒberhaupt soll. Dass schon zwei sehr aufwendige Versuche autarker, selbsterhaltender Siedlungen hier auf der Erde, also unter sozusagen optimalen Bedingungen bereits im Vorfeld solcher Betrachtungen gescheitert sind, sollte man auch wissen.
Fazit: Viele Science-Fiction-Stories, die sich mit dem Thema beschÀftigten, sind schon fundierter.
*) Kreidechemie, altbackener Jargon fĂŒr Naturwissenschaft, die nicht im Labor, sondern ausschlieĂlich an der Kreidetafel stattfindet - und zu oft auch nur da funktioniert.

They call them BEMs, bug-eyed monsters because eyes are the windows to the soul and they are the most religious reverent beings in the galaxy. Doing Gods work as they see it and is flaunted by human blasphemy they cannot and will not tolerate. We see ourselves reflected in their black iridescent orbs, their gelatinous skins and feel the shame for what we have done to the Earth in the name of progress, mastery, pride, and profit. We are frozen by the depth of those eyes and know this is best. For the Earth, we the infection will be removed.

An important piece of cinematic film #history in the genre of #dystopian #science #fiction.
It came out around the same time as Solyent Green (1973) and although they share many similarities, those similarities do seem to predict what we're seeing today. The differences are mostly cinematic plus the storylines, but unlike most of today's SF Hollywood polyfiller which lacks imagination and relies heavily on CGI and past worn-out regurgitated comic Marvel/DC paraphernalia turned franchises etc..
That earlier period of cinema produced much higher quality films without the need for multi-layers of technical wizardry but which more people seem to miss and relate to today.
It's also been compared to Stanley Kubrik's, 'A Clockwork Orange' - another classic social dystiopian film released in 1972 and 'Planet of the Apes' released even earlier in 1968, but that too unfortunately fell victim to the curse of the Hollywood franchise syndrome. Even when we fast forward ~1977 - Capricorn One, Coma, Star Wars, Moonraker and Close Encounters of the Third Kind all carry that theme of how an Evil Empire or the Deep State manipulates, deceives, oppresses and controls humanity...
George Lucas said in one #interview that it was a reflection of oppression and the feeling people generally had around the time of the Vietnam War and the string of assassinations from #JFK, #RFK, #MLK to #MalcolmX...and that feeling was to amplify even further just around the corner.

Il fut un temps, contre vent et tempĂȘte, lâhomme Ă©tait nĂ© pour vivre debout au milieu de labyrinthes hostiles. Il se releva afin dâen juger leurs lointains replis. DressĂ© face Ă lâhorizon, il Ă©tait prĂȘt Ă fuir le moindre tonnerre avec ses semblables avant que le ciel ne leur tombe sur la tĂȘte. A prĂ©sent ce nâĂ©tait plus la crainte de la faune sauvage qui le poussaient Ă voir loin. Rares ou mortes, des bĂȘtes ne survivaient que les rampants aux Ă©cailles cuirassĂ©es et autres bestioles apyres, cafards affamĂ©s, fourmis belliqueuses et acides. Les ocĂ©ans se rĂ©duisaient en flaques de chagrin, les glaciers se ruinaient en verticales abysses. En ville, les gratte-ciel fondus ployaient en chiasse urbaine, molle et obscĂšne. Tout en surface nâĂ©tait que magma de bĂ©ton. LâatmosphĂšre brĂ»lait, les deux frĂšres soleils, Moros et Ethra prenaient en Ă©tau cette terre. Elle Ă©tait mĂȘlĂ©e de prĂšs Ă leur guerre.
Comme des musaraignes, les gens se traĂźnaient sous terre, et cela chaque annĂ©e dâun palier souterrain Ă lâautre. Le trauma Ă©tait tel quâau fil des gĂ©nĂ©rations, ils avaient appris Ă ne plus courir le risque de perdre la vue en levant les yeux au ciel. Et naturellement un jour naquit lâhomme qui ne pouvait plus se dĂ©faire de la posture acquise. La tĂȘte penchĂ©e vers le sol, les membres tordus, et lâallure voĂ»tĂ©e du pin parasol sâĂ©panouissant en plein vent. Malheureusement, les hommes ne faisaient jamais plus de vieilles branches. Leurs dynasties sâĂ©taient tassĂ©es, ils se croisaient tous sans pouvoir se regarder, peuple de bosselĂ©s les yeux rivĂ©s au pied.
