This is a humanitarian catastrophe on top of the 9+ months of ongoing catastrophe.

It's just infuriating and sad to watch this happen while all major newspapers in Europe talking about football and Olympics.

There are over 300000 people still living in GAZA city. They have nowhere to go. There are no safe places anywhere and most of them are starving after months of Israeli blockade of food and water entering the city.

Does anyone really care anymore?

The United Nations has informed #Israel that the system is a prerequisite for the organization to fully resume aid distribution throughout the #Gaza Strip - but #Israel is concerned that the system could fall into the hands of #Hamas, making it difficult for #Israeli intelligence to monitor the group's communications, raising the risk of coordinated attacks. Attacked on #Israel by #Hamas militants, according to #Israeli officials.

"The latest 'Special Snapshot' of Gaza from the #UN’s #hunger monitoring system, the Integrated #Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), that will be published on Tuesday also says that one in five of the population – more than 495,000 people – are now 'facing catastrophic levels of acute food insecurity' involving 'an extreme lack of food, #starvation, and #exhaustion'.

“'More than half [of households] also reported that, often, they do not have any food to eat in the house, and over 20% go entire days and nights without eating.'"

Many households report having only one meal every day, with some having one meal every two or three days, the OCHA report states.

Israeli-imposed constraints continue to “severely undermine the delivery of essential humanitarian assistance and services across Gaza, including the delivery of food and nutrition assistance, medical care, protection and shelter support, and water, sanitation and hygiene [WASH] services to hundreds of thousands of people”, the #OCHA report adds.

Not to forget using aid truck as the mean of military operations which is clearly made as a crime in Geneva convention.

The World Food Program and the Food and Agriculture Organization had said that hunger is worsening because of heavy restrictions on humanitarian access and the collapse of the local food system in Gaza.

The #ICJ mandated additional measures against Israel “in view of the worsening conditions of life faced by Palestinians in Gaza, in particular the spread of #famine and #starvation.”

Israel must ensure immediate, unhindered humanitarian aid, including food, water, electricity, fuel, shelter, clothing, hygiene, and medical care with #UN cooperation.

This also includes opening land crossing points into Gaza for as long as necessary.

Israel must not carry out any military actions that infringe on Palestinians’ rights under the #Genocide Convention and prevent the delivery of urgently needed humanitarian assistance.
