#Magha (மகம்): The Ancestral Throne
Placement: 00° 00’ to 13° 20’ of Leo

Element: #Water (Neer)

Pushkara Navamsha/Bhaga: NA

Gandanta #Nakshatra

This nakshatra exudes regal qualities and is strongly associated with kings, queens, monarchs, and royal societies. Located in the early degrees of the Leo zodiac, it is the brightest star in the Leo (Simha) constellation, which further emphasizes its close link to kingly attributes.

Symbol: The symbol of this nakshatra is the throne and throne room, representing power, high status, administration, and traditional values. The concepts of kingship, lions, and thrones are all interconnected with the idea of royalty, which is embodied by this nakshatra.

Deity: The deity associated with this nakshatra is #Pitris (The #Ancestors), as acquiring a kingly status or a throne requires a deep understanding of, and reverence for, past traditions. An individual's identity is closely linked to their familial lineage and ancestral history. In Puranas, Pitris are believed to reside in #Pitra #Loka after departing from Earth. According to tradition, the blessings of one's ancestors are essential for success, even before seeking the blessings of the gods.

Our direct ancestors, such as grandfathers, as well as the forefathers of all #humanity known as #Pitru Devatas, are the reason for our existence. According to the Ganesha Purana, Lord #Brahma was tasked with creating the Universe after emerging from Lord #Vishnu's naval. Initially, Brahma attempted to create the universe without first worshipping Lord #Ganesha, but his creations were flawed and incomplete. Upon realizing his mistake, Brahma sought out Lord Ganesha and began to worship him. Ganesha, who had been in deep #meditation, opened his eyes and saw Brahma there. He took Brahma into his hands and swallowed him, which shocked Brahma. However, inside Ganesha's stomach, the entire #universe had already been manifested. Ganesha then released Brahma and advised him to create the universe according to what he had seen. The creations that Brahma had initially made became the Pitru Devatas, as they were the reason for the universe being created in the way it was intended to be.

Guna: As the foremost among tamasic nakshatras, this nakshatra is focused on the pursuit of power and claiming what is rightfully one's own. Tamas, representing the pursuit of pleasure through material means, is a defining characteristic of this nakshatra.

Ruler: #Ketu is the ruler of this nakshatra and represents the impact of our past life actions and decisions. It is considered the most independent among the grahas because it lacks a head, and it is also the oldest among the navagrahas (nine planets), which explains why it holds the position of ruler for this nakshatra.

Animal: The animal associated with this nakshatra is the #male #rat. Like lions, rats tend to have large families and are known for their active sexual life. These intelligent and energetic rodents are also associated with Lord Ganesha, further emphasizing the connection with Ketu.

#Power: Magha is associated with the power of "Tyaga Shepani #Shakti", which refers to the soul's ability to disconnect from the physical body. This nakshatra guides the soul to Pitra Loka after death, serving as a facilitator for the transition between states. Ultimately, Magha represents the power to bring about a change in one's spiritual state.

General attributes: Individuals born under Magha nakshatra are likely to have a strong connection to their past, possessing a natural talent for remembering things for a long time. However, they may also become overly preoccupied with the past, potentially losing sight of the present moment. Spirituality can help guide them towards righteousness and dharma. The success of these individuals is closely linked to their ancestral lineage, and they may prioritize achieving high status over acquiring material wealth. With an active sex life and potential for a large family, connecting with their ancestors through prayers and offerings is believed to be key for success. As we see in the movie "Coco", the ancestral world and our world are connected, and blessings from the ancestors can be received through offerings. Ultimately, the body is merely a vessel for the soul, and these are general qualities associated with Magha nakshatra. Reader discretion is advised.

Specialties: Planetary placement in Magha is considered auspicious, as the blessings of Pitris are considered more significant than those of the Gods, and they are more easily pleased by offerings. Lord Saturn is also associated with the Pitris, and the crow is seen as the vehicle of Lord Saturn. Therefore, offering food to crows is considered an offering to the ancestors. Additionally, Amavasya tithi (new moon day) is also associated with the Pitris and Saturn.

#Bonfires are a Samhain tradition that are still part of celebrations on Halloween here in #Ireland to this day.
These bonfires and new #fires were lit for #protection - scaring off the spirits that resided in darkness. They also might have provided some reassurance in a time before electricity, symbolising the light and warmth of the sun that would return after winter.

Feasting
The fruits of the harvest were enjoyed at feasts around these fires, too. Livestock specially selected for the event were roasted, with some burnt on the #fire as offerings to the spirits. And unlike the one-night-only event of Halloween today, Samhain of long ago would have gone on for days and, according to some sources, up to a week! Quite the party!
#Samhain and the start of the #Celtic #New #Year

enter image description here

Samhain - The turning of the year
For our #ancestors, the new day began at #sundown. So Samhain began at twilight, Oíche Shamhna, on October 31st. With the sun's setting, the old year was seen to die, and the long dark of winter that started the new year was heralded in.

Livestock were brought down to winter grazing to keep them safe in the cold months. People retreated indoors, too, believing that the boundary between our world and the Otherworld, the world of the spirits, was at its thinnest point of the year. The dead were believed to cross into the world of the living, and spirits like the #banshee, #púca, and the Aes #Sídh roamed the land at this liminal time.

Inherited Lands and People

I live alone but I walk with my relatives.
There’s a light streak in my hair.
I’ve inherited the trait from my French grandfather.

It was passed down to all his children, and to me,
from my mother. I also walk with her feet.
But not in her footsteps.

From old photographs and records I see that
I’m a combinations of many family lines and races.
French, English, Irish, Hebrew and an ancient
Scottish line that goes back centuries.
Scythian warriors who roamed the
Mediterranean Sea and conquered lands.
In dreams I’m aiming and shooting arrows.

Before the American Revolution in 1765,
during the African Slave Trade era in America,
a North Carolina plantation slave owner fathered
a boy child with a slave woman.
That boy child and his mother are also my relatives.

My skin is lily white, my eyes are green,
but I have inherited some African ways from long ago.

There’s an African way of ‘sharing’ within me.
I love and feel music that Africans have created.
I can endure hard, physical and mental labor,
and being treated badly.
I can endure difficult circumstances in life.
Even so, gentlemen open doors for me as if I were a queen.
My spirit and I are not crushed.

When I come to you, I don’t arrive alone.
I bring all of my relatives and their lands with me.
You bring all of your inherited lands and relatives with you.
We’re a crowd!! How wonderful!
Let’s smile, kiss and hug, and dance. We, and they have all survived.

It is said that this material world is an imperfect reflection of spiritual world. #Nakshatras, 27 Vedic stars beyond the zodiac, with their gods and shaktis, are revealing us our Divine potential, as well as give us hints about how can we get the best of it to live more aligned life.
#Pitris, the #Divine #ancestors, solar pranic energies, which assist us on our journey from body to body and remind us about our eternal connection to continuum of life, encourage us to become more detached, and responsible in our contribution to life.
Pitris, the Divine ancestors of higher realms, remind us about the same Divine roots, which all of us share as humanity. They remind us about the universal spiritual essence, which continues to live and travel through the universe even after the death of the body, from life to life, until it reaches final emancipation. Through this Divine spark, and through those Divine roots we are all connected – and with this realisation comes acknowledgement of our responsibility and duties towards this material world, which we should fulfil both with devotion and detachment. Because in this very present moment, through each of our thoughts, actions and words, that contribute to shaping the future, we become the ancestors of our own and this world’s future, too.
#Magha #nakshatra, bringing release after intense energies in Ashlesha, inspires us to seek spiritual freedom from material bondages – but at the same to honour our roots and stay responsible towards the world that we come from. Because detachment, without respect to our eternal connection to continuum of life, can be destructive, too. Moon in Magha inspires us to honour this sacred connection instead of trying to get isolated it from it or running away from it – as illusion of separation can make our ego become too strong, too. And Moon in Magha can frequently become too proud or isolated. This lunar mansion, dwelling in the center of zodiacal third eye chakra, teaches us how to, first of all, get detached from our ego identity and to become more selfless i our thoughts, words and actions.

I may have posted this before but inspired by @girlofthesea@diasporasocial.net's recent postings here is a favorite of mine. The baby is my mother. She is held by her mother and is reaching out to her great -grandmother who was born in 1842 and died in 1930 when my mother was eight.

My mother knew someone who was a young adult during the civil war. Blows my mind.

10) Magha

#Magha #Nakshatra is 10th out of 27 #Nakshatras in #VedicAstrology.

The symbol of Maghā, a throne, is an image of inherited power. Indra, the king of the gods, seated on the throne of paradise is known as Maghavan.

Deity of Magha are #Pitrs tells about the forefathers, departed ancestors. The Manu-Smṛti’s third chapter tells us that Pitṛ are divine beings who are the “forefathers” of us all. As per Hindu scriptures, at the beginning Lord Brahma manifested 10 sons, called the Prajapatis to create and operate the world. They are the original Pitris as all creation originated from them.

In Hindu astrology, when the Moon transits Magha Nakshatra it is extremely auspicious and important to remember and honor our #ancestors and express our gratitude to them.

Brihat Jataka of VārāhaMihira mentions that one born in Magha will enjoy great wealth, enjoyments, respecter of elders

Taittiriya Brahmana an ancient Vedic text says Magha is ruled by the Ancestors.

In the Hindu epic Mahabharata, King Dhritarashtra is the King of the Kuru Kingdom and Bhishma Parva talks about all these astronomical movements to King Dhritarashtra particularly mentioning all astronomical bad omens during Mahabharata War. This below shloka particularly mentions Magha Nakshatra and Planet Mars.

Senayoraśivaṃ ghoraṃ kariṣyati mahāgrahaḥ

Maghāsvaṅgārako vakraḥ śravaṇe ca bṛhaspatiḥ (6.3.13)

Explanation: This great planet will cause frightful mischief to both the armies. Mars wheeleth towards Magha and Brihaspati (Jupiter) towards Sravana

#MAGHA #NAKSHATRA
THE STAR OF HERITAGE & POWER
Magha means power, majesty and rulership. This Nakshatra is our very heart of power. Magha gives us grand royal standing, and the power of rulership.

The power of rulership comes by embracing the dualisms within the Heart. When the Heart no longer divides, it takes the seat of power in all the realms of existence.

Magha is found in the constellation of Simha (Leo) and is actually the Star Alpha Leonis, which is the very heart of the Lion. This Star is also known by the name Regulus in Latin, which interestingly, means ‘the little king’.

Magha Nakshatra is often symbolised by a throne, representing our heritage and power. The seat of power of this star is the seat of our hereditary power. It concerns the power of our past and our ancestry.

This star
brings us to question
the actual meaning of power.
Magha’s power is the power of the Heart. The deepest lesson that this Star represents is opening to an all-encompassing Heart that unites all, and rejects nothing. This is the vision of the Yogins.

The Headless Past
We see that the planetary ruler of this Nakshatra is Ketu. This is the Southern node of the Moon that is responsible for lunar eclipsing.

Ketu concerns the past. He is the body without a head, and is the storehouse of the unconscious rudiment of our being.
When we work with Ketu, we go back into the past, where those forgotten and unseen elements of ourselves are brought into focus.
The Moon rules the mind and our psychic awareness.

#Ketu,
having the power
to eclipse the mind,
represents the storehouse
of personal history
that can impose itself
upon the vision of reality.
Afflictions of Ketu make one into a library of past manuscripts and transactions that obscure the flexible vision of ever changing reality.

When Ketu holds strong sway in our lives, we have family disputes, and we grind on the grudges of the past.
When we come back to the roots, we are in effect taking the journey to Ketu.

By addressing root issues we impact the fruit if our experiential life. The root distills the essence and sap, which in turn translates to the taste of the fruit. Tantric’s know this Sap to be Soma. Soma is made up of Tejas, Ojas and Prana: mental fire, fluidic potency and breath power, respectively. The balance of these constituents is a preoccupation of Tantra.

Taking The Seat of Power
Ancestral issues might present some of the dustiest shelves in our psychic library. Spiritual unrest in the energetic plane of the ancestors, spans concurrently across realms of time and space, and resonates and reverberates into the very fabric of our everyday life and being.

When we make peace
with our ancestral line,
we nourish the roots.
Without the roots,
their will be no fruit.
Having dispute with the family is a deep and subtle issue that is often the cause of much heartache and pain and anguish. Sometimes we enter into unconscious seats that have their origin on the subtle levels. It might not be easy to approach long held family issues.

The energies of the family heritage pass along the line until they are resolved in the great odyssey of destiny. Cutting off our roots might be one way to give the tree of our being space to grow. It is not uncommon that family members do not see eye to eye, but…

… to cut away our ancestral roots
out of anger, shame or denial
is to cut away
a great portion of our power.
Coming to accept the good, the bad and the ugly of our heritage is to take the seat of power.

#Healing the #Family Tree
All our relationships
are mirrors
of our ancestral dynamics.
Are connections are coloured by the energies of our line. Some of the patterns and footprints that we walk in are woven of ancestral twine. We may see how our children follow the paths that we ourselves transferred to them. We may see how we take on the energies of our elders too. The root is the undercurrent that can’t be cut away without affecting the fruit.
Reclaiming our power by standing for our heritage, is the first step in resolving the past.

“Can we resolve the past
Lurking jaws, joints of time?
The Base
To come of age in a dry place
Holes and caves.”

J. Morrison – American Prayer

When we redress the issues from a spiritual angle, we effect changes in the manifest realm. Merely holding a positive thought in mind is of little consequence in this pursuit. At the best, it might convince us that things are all well and good. The Tantric learns to employ all facets of their being in the spiritual pursuit of healing.

When we approach the spiritual world with a holy sense of purity we confine our psychic forces, and therefore confine their expression in our manifest life.

Angelic lightness
is just one facet of being,
but it is not the whole picture.
The pursuit of the holy stems from fear, denial and escapism to the true face of reality. The Goddess has many faces. Some of which are blinding, some of which are dark and consuming. To sit in the seat of power and to allow the full impact of feeling the effect of her ever changing gaze upon us is to be in reality.

To superimpose the Goddess’ face with a wished for visage, it to apply shadow and lipstick to the mirror. If we keep sticking things upon her mirror, we will create a fantasy and lose touch with reality. This is not the way spirituality is meant to be.

The #Ancestors
“Gorgeous girls are bound to meet
To talk of stars and kings and feet
Through the chromosomes of space and time
Me, I’m fast like bad infection
Gasping for my resurrection
Swear to me in times of war and stress

Seen his family with a shrinking smile
See his family at the happy games
Standing in the mouth of all that’s pure
Come straggling in your tattered remnants
You’ll come to me with tears and blame
I am the future
I’m tomorrow
I am the end“

D. Bowie – Earthling

The ancestors dwell on this star. They are known as the Pitris and are made up of guardian spirits and deceased ancestors.
Yogic culture works profoundly with ancestry. Our heritage is understood to be our root that yields the fruit of our being.

There are various rituals in Tantra for blessing the ancestors, and connecting to their blessings. Tantric work spans across many planes of existence. By connecting to the root energies resonating through time, we see how time is a concurrent thing, existing and moving together in sync, like the fingers of a wristwatch.

We release spirits and energy through the chromosomes of space and time, by our involvement in the spiritual side of life, when we approach the world of the ancestors by way of ritual.

There are many special days for Tantric ancestral rites. These are days, when the world of the ancestors is said to open up and be within view to the eye that looks.

Dark Moon days,
for example,
are times when the spirit world
intersects with the earthly plane.
That is a day
when the ancestors are worked with.
Tantric ritual dedicates a whole month to Ancestral work in the autumn. There is the ritual festival of first honouring the mothers line for a fortnight. Which is then followed by honouring the fathers line for a further fortnight.

When the Moon is is Magha Nakshatra, it is also a day when the ancestors come close to us spiritually. The half ascending Moon of Bagalamukhi supports us to touch the balance of dark and light ancestral themes. And so, on this ritual night, while the moon in in the Star of ancestry, we shall take a journey to the world of the ancestors. This night is blessed under the auspices of the Goddess Bagalamukhi. She it be, who pulls the spirit beyond the terrestrial.

#Magha is a #Sanskrit #word that signifies “large” or “great.” Magha Nakshatra bestows royal and honorable places to its inhabitants, as the name suggests. It is a symbol of power, dominance, authoritative status, and high social regard. Magha #Nakshatra people are thought to be natural-born leaders in their vocations. Ascendant and Moon’s constellations reveal the essence of one’s inner personality.
Because it is ruled by #Pitris, the #ancestors of the #human race, rather than Devatas, Magha Nakshatra residents are intensely attached to their ancestral beliefs and traditions. Furthermore, because the devils govern the Nakshatra, the native is engrossed in the world’s material pleasures. This can be considered to be closely related to our own and our ancestors’ past actions. In Leo’s #constellation, it is the brightest #star. The word Magha means ‘Magnificent,’ and it is represented by a royal throne. Magha Nakshatra people can use their influence and position to achieve their utmost ambitions.

The native people are generous and have a lion-like demeanor. They have an inclination for ancestor worship and an interest in occult sciences. In the Leo sign, the Magha Nakshatra extends from 00°00′ to 13°20′ degrees.

#RgVeda and we want to be careful about whether this degrades everything:

93-94. (?) The Pitṛs named Ājyapās are the sons born of Pulaha who was born of Kardama, the Prajāpati. They reside in those worlds which can go wherever one desires. They move about in the sky in various forms and shapes. The groups of Vaiśyas who seek benefit worship these Pitṛs in Śrāddha.

  1. Their mental daughter is well known by the name Virajā. She was the chaste wife of Nahuṣa and the mother of Yayāti.

  2. The Pitṛs named Sukālas are the sons of the noble-souled Vasiṣṭha, son of Hiraṇyagarbha (Brahmā). The Śūdras worship them.

  3. Those worlds where they stay in the #heaven are #Mānasa by name. Their mental daughter is Narmadā, the most excellent river.

  4. She sanctifies the living beings as she proceeds along the Dakṣiṇāpatha (southern tract and territory). She was the #wife of #Purukutsa and the #mother of #Trasaddasyu.

  5. It is after accepting these that Manu the lord of the Manvantara initiates the Śrāddha rites everywhere.

It's of course a little weird, hard to tell who is intended to be human. Maybe weirder to think of Arya kings as "wedded" to the southern #Narmada #River.

#Rudra is reborn in each of these #Manvantaras, and #Agni and the #Pitrs are the only thing that stays the same.

Individuals change names, classes change jobs, for example Sadhyas are now Adityas, everything else is a flux besides Agni and Pitrs.

So those are two branches that use his two wives, ##Svaha and Svadha, for the #ending of #mantras. They are his #power or, i. e. Svaha carries mantras to #Devas, Svadha to the Pitrs, Sraddha Rite, which upon examination is about #Time rather than #ancestors. Agni shows manifested units of time, the #day, #year, etc., whereas Pitrs are much like #Father-Time, duration in the abstract.

Most streams of Purana have dissipated all this, such as:

Sādhya (साध्य) refers to a group of deities that was once worshipped in ancient #Kashmir (Kaśmīra) according to the Nīlamatapurāṇa.—Various groups of the deities like #Ādityas, #Vasus, #Sādhyas, #Viśvedevas and #Maruts have their place in the #pantheon of the #Nīlamata but nothing significant is said about them.

Or they may be found shuffled in to #Shiva #Ganas that have nothing to do with this.

Where discussed, they may include:

Arthasiddhi

Brahmāṇḍa-purāṇa II. 24. 27; 38. 3.

and importantly:

Viṣṇu, Nārāyaṇa, lying in sleep in the vast mass of water.*

  • Vāyu-purāṇa 23. 108.

live in Bhuvarloka; Nārāyaṇa, their overlord

in the [Śatapatha-brāhmaṇa] their world is said to be above the sphere of the gods; according to Yāska [Nirukta, by Yāska xii, 41] their locality is the Bhuvarloka or middle region between the #earth and #sun;

in the later mythology they seem to be superseded by the Siddhas

The easily-copied rosters of Sadhyas are:

Manas, Mantṛ, Prāṇa, Nara, Pāna, Vinirbhaya, Naya, Daṃśa, Nārāyaṇa, Vṛṣa, Prabhu

Mana, Anumanta, Prāṇa, Nara, Apāna, Vīryavān, Vīti, Naya, Haya, Haṃsa, Nārāyaṇa, Vibhu, and Prabhu

The latter, from #Brihadaranyaka #Upanishad, is in the context that they take birth at will, consciously. The same group of entities changes names and kingdoms; the twelve #souls have #continuity. And so they remember that they once were, on the ideal or ideational plane:

Prāṇa, Apāna, Udāna, Samāna, Vyāna, Cakṣus, Śrotram, Rasa, Ghrāṇa, Sparśa, Buddhi and Manas.

There for example is #Mind's Eye, #Caksus, which is unlike #Indra, because #ordinary #vision requires a physical #eyeball and a #psychological response to stimulus, may be easily tricked. This is i#ncorporeal vision that represents #Perfect #Sight.

"Later #mythology" means the Sadhyas appear in #Mahabharata numerous times, but, barely have any references in Bhagavata Purana.

" #Narayana" is in #Rg-Veda as the author of Purusha Sukta. That's it

#Magha #Nakshatra is the tenth of 27 #nakshatras. If you were born when the moon was between 0:00-13:20 degrees #Leo

#Sanskrit Name: मघा (Magha). Some meanings of the word magha are “power,” and “wealth,” indicating good fortune, inner strength, and a strict demeanor.

Planetary Ruler: #Ketu. Known in the Puranas as the headless body of the shadow planet Rahu, Ketu is associated with intensity, loss, and transcendence.

Nakshatra Group: Monstrous. Nakshatras are divided into three classes — monsters, humans, and gods. Magha is a monstrous nakshatra. People in this group are generally intuitive, strong-willed, and assertive. They may be prone to anger and violence.

Zodiac Sign: Leo. Leo is famously associated with the king of the jungle, the lion. Leos are powerful, brave, big-hearted individuals who may struggle with pride.

Deity: #Daksha, or the #Pitris. In Sanskrit, “pitri” refers to one’s deceased ancestors. Daksha is the leader of the Prajapatis, who are considered the original progenitors of mankind and thus the original #ancestors.

Symbol: A #palanquin or #throne. This represents royalty, nobility, power, and wealth.

Power: To renounce. Although Maghas attract much material opulence and success, this nakshatra has the ability to let go. This power is also associated with the ultimate renunciation of the mortal body at death.

Resonant Syllables: In India, the birth nakshatra is traditionally used as one means of choosing the name of a child. The corresponding syllables for the four quarters (padas) of Magha are Ma (मा), Me (मी), Moo (मू), and May (मे). The syllable of a person’s first name is sometimes used when calculating an astrological chart if the time of birth is unknown.

Strengths
The nakshatra Magha is often considered “the mighty one.” Magha natives are individuals of great power. Leadership comes naturally to you, and your bravery, ambition, and industriousness will likely put you in a position of influence. Wealth and prosperity are yours for the taking.

You have a sharp intellect and are able to understand things on a deep level. You can reach to the depths of any subject, and this sets you apart from being merely intelligent — you are wise. You don’t lead only with force and brawn, but with wisdom and warmth.

People trust you because you are always straightforward and truthful. You don’t hide your motives. You’re unlikely to turn a blind eye to inconvenient facts, since you prefer to face difficulty directly — you take the truth head on and use it to bolster, rather than discourage, your optimism.

You are loyal and loving to your friends and family. You are fair and responsible and never let down the people who count on you. Generally well-behaved and modest, your personal qualities and big heart endear you to those who know you and, potentially, to the masses.

Magha Careers
Magha natives will shine in careers where their leadership abilities are utilized, and where there is the opportunity for growth and advancement. They should avoid careers where they have little or no independence.

Some ideal professions include:

Entrepreneur, C-level executive, or manager
Politician or lawyer
Historian or librarian
Public speaker or actor/actress
Weaknesses
One of the greatest challenges Magha natives face is their own pride. The strong ego you require in order to achieve your ambitions can also lead to arrogance. Since you are more driven than most people, you will likely end up in positions of leadership — and this can lead you to feel that you are better than others.

When this egotistical nature gets the better of you, you may intentionally or unintentionally hurt others. You have a hot temper and dislike being threatened, and can respond explosively to perceived slights. You can be too outspoken and may be disdainful of others opinions, especially when you believe those opinions present a threat to your own position.

Ultimately, Maghas crave attention and approval. This may come as a surprise to outsiders who see only your strength and confidence. Your incredible drive and ambition stem largely from your need to gain approval from others and, more challengingly, from yourself. Nothing you do is ever good enough in your own eyes.

Your exacting perfectionism could leave you forever unsatisfied if you don’t learn to fully accept yourself, flaws and failings included. Otherwise, you could go through your whole life doubting yourself and being resentful of those you compare yourself to.

Other Personality Traits
You are religious. You are drawn to spirituality and enjoy ceremony and ritual. You are loyal to your religious tradition.

You like tradition. Tradition is something that you believe should be respected. In general, you have great appreciation for past generations and what they have established through their own endeavors. Family traditions are important to you and you will strive to uphold them throughout your life.

You may feel racially superior. Your tendency towards arrogance can lead you to feel that your own racial or ethnic group is superior to others. Try to develop empathy for those who are different from you by establishing friendships with those from different backgrounds and exposing yourself to other cultures.

You are well-served. Your leadership qualities make others naturally follow you. There will probably be many people who follow your instructions and do their best to please you.

You can be authoritarian. You can fall into the habit of acting like your opinion is the only one that matters. This can make you boss others around without due consideration for their thoughts or feelings.

Magha Compatibility
Magha sexuality is symbolized by a male rat. In terms of physical compatibility, this makes them an ideal match for persons born under Purva-phalguni nakshatra.

Based on holistic matching, Maghas are most likely to find happiness in long-term partnerships with:

Bharani
Krittikas in Aries
Ardra (for male natives)
Purva-phalguni
Uttara-phalgunis in Leo (for female natives)
Vishakha (for female natives)
Vishakhas in Scorpio (for male natives)
Mula
Purva-ashadha
Uttara-ashadhas in Sagittarius (for female natives)
Dhanisthas in Aquarius (for female natives)
Shatabisha (for male natives)
Note: Compatibility in relationships is a complex science that looks at many different factors. You should always consult with an experienced astrologer who can carefully analyze the charts of both you and your partner.

Magha’s Four Quarters ( #Padas)
Each nakshatra is divided into four quarters, also known as padas, of 3:20 degrees each. These quarters are based on a 1/9th divisional chart, known in Sanskrit as navamsha.

The moon’s position at your time of birth determines the quarter in which you are born.

First Quarter (0:00-3:20 degrees Leo): Aries. You have a strong will and like to get your way. You are fiery and intense, and those who antagonize you are likely to get burnt. Whether you are male or female, you possess qualities that would traditionally be referred to as masculine. You are very creative. You can be too hasty, jumping into action without proper planning and overlooking details as you go.

Second Quarter (3:20-6:40 degrees Leo): Taurus. Family means everything to you, and there’s nothing you like better than spending time with them. You are attractive, both externally and internally, and people are drawn to your beauty and charismatic personality. You like the finer things in life and can probably afford them. Once you’ve made a decision, you stand firmly by it and don’t waver in the face of opposition.

Third Quarter (6:40-10:00 degrees Leo): Gemini. The influence of Gemini bestows a cunning and clever mind. You are a gifted communicator in both writing and speech. You enjoy a good battle of wits and can think up a good plan for any situation. You are artistic and enjoy coming up with new ideas and utilizing your artistic talents in a number of ways.

Fourth Quarter (10:00-13:20 degrees Leo): Cancer. The softness of Cancer balances some of Magha’s harsher qualities. You are sensitive — you aren’t as thick-skinned as other Maghas may appear to be and you are very attuned to the thoughts and feelings of others. You have great respect for your elders, knowing that their experience gives them wisdom you can learn from. You are loved by many.

About Magha Nakshatra
Magha is the tenth Nakshatra of the Zodiac. It is one of the brightest and largest Nakshatra that can be seen in the night sky. As the Magha star is 100 times more luminous than the Sun, this Nakshatra is also called the “Little Sun” and “Little King”.

In the sky, Magha Nakshatra is represented by a sickle-shaped group of stars facing the Leo constellation. It corresponds to Regulus or Alpha-Leonis star and is ruled by the planet Ketu. Ancient Vedic sages saw Magha star as a throne whereas the scholars of other cultures illustrated it as a Lion.

The word “Magha” in Sanskrit means “Bountiful”, “Magnificent”, “Beneficent” and “The most important”. It is symbolized by “ a throne” which represents regality, power, reputation and honor. In Vedic Astrology, Magha is a Nakshatra relating both to our identity in the present life and after-death journey. It is associated with the Pitris or ancestors and is concerned with revering people who have come before and preserving the past traditions.

Magha Nakshatra in English is referred to as Magha. Whereas, Magha Nakshatra in Tamil is referred to as Magam Natchathiram ( மகம் நட்சத்திரம்). The name of Magha Nakshatra in Malayalam is Makam Nakshatra (മകം നക്ഷത്ര) and the name of Magha Nakshatra in Telugu is Magha (మాఘ).

However, they are very poor in lending money and suffer losses through the lending activities. Both Magha Nakshatra males and females believe in positive Karma. They exhibit honest and God-fearing nature.

Characteristics of Magha Nakshatra in Astrology
The animal symbol of Magha Nakshatra is a male rat.
The yoni animal of this Nakshatra, a #male #rat, is representative of lovemaking.
Magha Nakshatra is considered a regal royal Nakshatra because it represents ancestors.
Without sex and sexual intercourse, we would not have ancestors. Whether it’s Yogananda, Swami Vivekananda or B. Lahiri Mahasaya, they all came through sex.
This is one of the main reasons why a male rat represents Magha.
Male rats are the most sexual animals out there. They reproduce at a rapid speed.
A female rat can have sex 500 times in 6 hours, which is another story for Purva Phalguni Nakshatra.
Male rats can even die having sex because they have no control over their sexual drive and can run themselves dry.
Based on an individual horoscope, a Magha native can be a sex maniac, a simple man, a yogi or a rock star, but they have one thing planted in their DNA, which is to re-produce.
Yogananda was a Magha ascendant, but he was a celibate monk.
If this Nakshatra is understood in a deeper sense, It would be understandable that from the moment he stepped onto United States soil, and till today, he has millions and millions of followers, devotees and students, which are like children to him.
It wasn’t the physical interaction that gave him so many children; it was the spiritual intercourse of his soul into our mind that made millions of us his children.
Magha natives love having a large family to come home to, love family gatherings, lavish food and a real home environment.
The male rats wants to see their children thriving inside the lion’s den.
The bird of Magha is the eagle. The reason why this bird has been assigned to this Nakshatra is due to its foresight.
Eagle can see its prey 3 miles away, and it sets a target on its food and grabs it without ever giving any indication of its arrival.
Magha natives see their lives through & through.
From the very beginning, they know what they want to achieve and become.
When they set a goal, it’s not for short term, it’s a goal that is 20 years ahead in time.
Magha is also connected with ancestral land and growing crops on that land to feed the future generation. Thus, most Magha dominant people love getting involved in real estate business, or are extremely adamant about attaining their own property.
Magha natives usually get their ancestral property in their name or somehow always have to deal with parental property issues, but some can even lose.
The story of Magha is about honouring our Pitris (ancestors), especially during no Moon day or new Moon day every month.
We should honour our ancestors with food, sweets and prayers, which will help us to find food, shelter and clothing in the Pitri Loka, where we will eventually go after this life and stay with our ancestors.
The symbol of Magha is a room with a royal throne.
This symbol is for you. You are the next generation to sit on that throne and do the rightful duty, which your ancestors want you to perform in the world.
It can be noticed that most Magha natives love to sit on an executive chair with a high back and nice cherry leather.
It feels like a throne, a kingly throne, from where you are able to perform duty.
There are good and bad people sitting on such chairs, but their purpose as Magha natives is always to do good for people, family and children.
Even the head of the mafia loves and dies for their family and children.
They want to make sure they inculcate good qualities in them, send them to good schools and have them married into a good family.
Whenever Magha natives sit on a powerful chair, they start to become responsible for their circumstances.
Attributes of Magha Nakshatra in Astrology
Spread from 0’00” degree to 13’20” Leo (Simha).
Magha affects the virtues and vices of the father’s family, wealth, glory, beauty, strength and prowess, lustre and effulgence, superior qualities, the sharpness of intellect, nobility, prestige, replenishment, increased wisdom, brilliance, capacity, and willingness to donate.
Ravi in Ashwini Nakshatra is brilliant, no doubt, but the brilliancy incendiary. It burns everything about it.
Surya is then a terrible ball of fire. But in Magha, Ravi is like an emperor, confident and self-assured. If happy and pleased, he is in a mood to make any benediction or gift.
When Ravi is in Magha, Shani gets alarmed, which is natural. By character, Shani is of a mean disposition, the nature of a slave, and Shani cannot brook the beauty and the dignity of Ravi’s position in Magha.
This is why Shani is “neecha” and anti-meridional in Ashwini, and the meanness and wiliness of Shani increases.
If Shani is the Lord of the 9th and 10th houses, is placed in the 4th house, and is associated with Magha, he adversely influences the 4th and 10th houses’ effects.
Magha is the cause of brightness and light. Therefore, old and gloomy Grahas cannot stand it. Magha stands for noble impulses and incentives; the gift of Magha must always be a noble one.
Magha has been described as a glorious one. Anthropomorphically it is the nose of Kalpurusha.

#MAGHA #NAKSHATRA

enter image description here

HE STAR OF HERITAGE & POWER

This is the vision of the Yogins.
enter image description here
THE HEADLESS PAST
We see that the planetary ruler of this Nakshatra is #Ketu.

Ketu,
having the power
to eclipse the mind,
represents the storehouse
of personal history
that can impose itself
upon the vision of reality.

HEALING THE FAMILY TREE

The ancestors dwell on this star. They are known as the #Pitris and are made up of guardian spirits and deceased ancestors.

And so, on this ritual night, while the moon in in the #Star of #ancestry, we shall take a journey to the world of the #ancestors. This night is blessed under the auspices of the Goddess #Bagalamukhi. She it be, who pulls the spirit beyond the terrestrial.

The so-called ‘ #Alien #sphere’ was discovered in #1974. After
several tests, experts concluded that the object was a
#magnetic sphere sensitive to magnetic fields, numerous
sound emissions, and mechanical stimulation. The sphere
was able to withstand a pressure of 120,000 pounds per
square inch, concluding that it was composed out of
stainless steel, specifically magnetic ferrous alloy 431.

Have you heard about the Betz sphere? It is just one of the many objects that have been discovered on #Earth completely defying explanation and reason.

Since time immemorial, people on Earth have stumbled across mysterious objects which according to many, are conclusive proof that extraterrestrial civilizations, time travelers or lost civilizations have existed on Earth.

Many times, #history has proven that our #ancestors were far more #advanced than what we credit them for. However, on many different occasions, we have been left perplexed by the mystery and intrigue of these perplexing and often strange discoveries, most of which cannot be explained by modern science.

Among the many strange objects discovered on Earth is the so-called #BetzSphere. Found in 1974, a strange metallic sphere became the center of attention in the US.

The Betz sphere or Betz Orb, the object has never been fully explained by experts, even though countless theories have been proposed. Among many theories, there are some who suggest –hat given the peculiar characteristic behind the artifact—it may be an extraterrestrial object.

The sphere was discovered in 1974 when Terry Mathew Betz, –thus the Betz sphere— a medical student discovered the object after a great fire had destroyed a large area of a nearby forest near his home in Jacksonville.

The object, of approximately 20 cm in diameter, was in perfect condition and had a mysterious triangle depicted on its surface.

The Betz family concluded that it was probably the remains of a satellite or military equipment, however, there was no crater caused by the impact or any other sign of damage to the surroundings. Just a massive fire.

Then strange things started happening. According to reports from the family, the metallic sphere seems to react to certain musical notes. Weird right?

There’s more.

The Betz family reported strange behavior from the family dog. May believe that this behavior was attributed to a high-frequency wave originating from the object, outside the hearing range of humans.

As if all of that wasn’t strange enough, the family reported that if the orb was placed on the floor and pushed, it changed direction by its own, and returned to the starting point.

The Jacksonville Journal sent a photographer, Lou Egner. Mrs. Betz told him to put the sphere on the floor:

“It rolled a ways then stopped. So what? She said, ‘Just wait a minute.’ It turned by itself and rolled to the right about four feet. It stopped. Then it turned again and rolled to the left about eight feet, made a big arc and came right back to my feet.”

Furthermore, a strange sound could be heard coming from inside the sphere. All of these statements were corroborated by a reporter from the Tampa Bay Times.

However, the media wasn’t the only one interested in the sphere.

The United States Navy as well as NASA are said to have shown interest when the sphere was found, and even though the family refused to give the sphere to the Navy or NASA at the beginning, they ended up delivering the orb to the Navy due to the many unexplainable phenomena surrounding the sphere.

Chris Berninger, spokesman for the US Navy, after receiving the sphere said: “Our first X-ray attempts got us nowhere. We’re going to use a more powerful machine on it and also run spectrograph tests to determine what metal it’s made of… There’s certainly something odd about it.”

The more tests that were performed, the more perplexed were people left.

Further tests revealed that the ‘space balls’ shell was around one-half inch thick and that the sphere was able to withstand a pressure of 120,000 pounds per square inch, concluding that it was composed out of stainless steel, specifically magnetic ferrous alloy #431.

Stainless 431 is a machinable and workable steel with added nickel that toughens it while eliminating unwelcome delta ferrite.

Interestingly, this alloy displays improved corrosion resistance and toughness as a quench-hardenable stainless steel. Its corrosion resistance makes it ideal for marine and aircraft applications. This alloy is used for aircraft fasteners and fittings and should be considered for structural parts in marine atmospheres.

Dr. James Albert Harder — a professor emeritus of civil and hydraulic engineering at the University of California at Berkeley showed interest in the mystery sphere.

“He [Dr. Harder] asserted, based on his X-ray studies, that the two internal spheres are made of elements far heavier than anything known to science. While the heaviest element yet produced in any atomic reactor here on Earth has an atomic number of 105, and the heaviest element occurring naturally on Earth is uranium, with an atomic number of 92, Harder claims to have determined that the Betz sphere has atomic numbers higher than 140. If one were to drill into the sphere, he asserted, ‘perhaps the masses would go critical’ and explode like an atomic bomb.”

IN addition to numerous tests, the so-called “ball from space” was also examined by Dr. Carl Williston of Omega Minus One, an institution located in the state of Louisiana at the time.

In his six hours of testing, Dr. Williston found that the sphere contained three magnetic poles and a possible fourth.

Dr. Carl Williston stated that the aspect of the magnetic field was a mind bender, the flux density of the field appeared to vary in strength based on an unknown pattern.

Simply stated, the power of the magnetic portion varied up and down. Back in 1974, this phenomenon was not part of our known physics. The same applied to the multiple poles.

X-Ray tests revealed more mysteries. It’s as if the Betz sphere was a Russian Matryoshka doll, only from outer space. One mystery was hidden in another, and another mystery hidden in yet another one.

X-Ray revealed 3 similar spheroid shapes within the ball. Curiously, these 3 shapes had a “halo” surrounding them, as though they were surrounded by a material with a different density. The metal was similar to stainless steel but had some unknown content making it slightly different.

Left perplexed by its composition and characteristics, experts concluded that this unusual ‘ball’ was a magnetic sphere sensitive to magnetic fields, numerous sound emissions, and mechanical stimulation. It was both passive and active. If it was an extraterrestrial probe, it might possibly be in a damaged state.
