Aufrüstung und Krieg sind nicht nachhaltig

Der verlinkte Artikel beruht auf Recherchen des MdEP Abgeordneten Fabio de Masio, die dieser der Berliner Zeitung gegeben hatte. Er schildert die Gefahr einer Transformation der EU vom „Friedensprojekt“ zum autoritären Kriegstreiber.

Dieser Weg fand seinen vorläufigen Abschluss in der „Grünwaschung“ der Rüstungsindustrie durch deren Klassifikation als „nachhaltige“ Unternehmen im letzten März. Das ist nachzulesen in dem grundsätzlichen Strategiepaper der „European defence industrial strategy“ – deutsch „Strategie für eine Europäische Verteidigungsindustriepolitik“.

Ausgangspunkt ist dabei das 2% Ziel der NATO, was die EU Staaten im Durchschnitt noch um 175 Mrd. Euro jährlich unterschreiten. Nun werden die Rüstungsmilliarden in der Regel an Lieferanten in den USA überwiesen. Das Geld möchte die EU durch bessere Koordinierung und die Bildung großer europäischer Rüstungskonzerne innerhalb der EU halten.

Dazu soll die EDTIB (European defence technological and industrial base = also die Basis der europäischen Rüstungsunternehmen) durch einen "Rat für die industrielle Verteidigungsbereitschaft" unterstützt werden. Diesem Rat sollen Vertreter der Mitgliedstaaten, des Hohen Vertreters der EU und der Kommission angehören. Eine parlamentarische Kontrolle ist nicht vorgesehen und damit gibt es ein weiteres EU-Gremium und zwar eins, dass jährlich viele Milliarden in den unersättlichen Schlund der Rüstungsindustrie leiten kann.

Wo soll das Geld herkommen?

Die Antwort: EU-Schuldverschreibungen und -Anleihen, die durch nichts gedeckt sind. Schließlich hat sich die Methode europäischer Schulden in der Corona-Zeit scheinbar bewährt. Präsident Emmanuel Macron unterstützt bereits die Forderung nach der Aufnahme von 100 Milliarden Euro Schulden und auch die damalige estnische Premierministerin und heutige Hohe Vertreterin der EU. Kaja Kallas, und der (ehemalige?) Europäische Ratspräsident Charles Michel und scheinbar auch Tschechien, Luxemburg und Finnland stehen dieser Idee offen gegenüber, wenn die Mittel ausschließlich für die Rüstung ausgegeben werden ...
