Less than half of #England and #Wales #population identify as #Christian, according to the 2021 #Census. The number of Christians has fallen significantly as is now below 50% for the first time, at 46.2% (down from 59.3% in the 2011 census!), while some 37% identify as having no #religion.
The percentage of people identifying as #white has fallen too, to 81.7%, with the largest minority 9.3% identifying as Asian (or Asian British or Asian Welsh). Leicester and Birmingham have become the first 'minority majority' cities, where over 50% of the population are #BAME (Black, Asian and minority ethnic). #diversity #UK

OMG what a match.
It was like being a kid again. All the way past the 90 minutes, deep into the over time and then it came.
The goal everyone was waiting for. After 2 shots into the left and right pile. After a nasty foul by #Wales' goalkeeper resulting in a red card for him, did Iran get the goals they truly deserved.
And quickly after that came the second goal.
Now #Iran gas 3 points, with -2 in goal count, US and Wales both with 1 poi t, #England with 3 points and a match against US today and then facing Wales.
Iran . Just beat #US to have a chance to advance. So does US and even Wales. It is going to be interesting group.

Lacock, Wiltshire
And now for something different: Harry Potter country in the English countryside. This is the tiny and picturesque village of Lacock, with its several taverns, abbey, hunting lodge, and stores.
Here at 'The George' (Wadworth) Inn there are some photos of the making of "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" just outside on these streets, and down the lanes of old stone houses and pubs.
Inside the tavern there is an unusual heirloom - I'm just reporting it! Not my doing! - which is a "dog wheel". Seemingly the height of cruelty looking at it now, but it was... real. A dog ran like a hamster in a wheel, which through pulleys turned a rotisserie which was attached. Photo included. Beer extra. (I have a video of this working, sans dog, by request!) Other than this.... sweet sweet village.
