Bonjour tout le monde ! #aide #question #electricité

Hello everyone ! #help #electricity

EN: I am looking for someone with electrical skills.

I'm currently doing the electrical installation in my van. The electrical box is finished, with all sorts of appliances inside, and I'm in the process of making the connections.

I'm looking for someone to talk to, so I can send him photos from time to time (of my plans, of the installation...) to check that my installation is functional and safe. I'm in contact with an AFK electrician, but I don't want to make him go out of his way 50 times, so it would be more convenient to do it over the Internet. What's more, this electrician is only qualified to do everything that concerns the installation of the back, but not the coupling with the motor battery. So I'm also looking for someone who knows how to do that.
I'm not going to spam you, I know how to get around and document myself, but it's just in case I'm in doubt at some point, to have an outside eye at key moments, and so on.

If you don't have any electrical skills, you can still help me by reposting this message <3

Choose your #Linux #distribution with many questions and extensive, confusing and partly outdated results

Choose your Linux distribution: https://distrochooser.de/en <- you can change the language at the top right.

I do think that the right questions are asked, but it is unclear to me how these are then weighted in the results. If I indicate that I like to be anonymously but #Tails is then listed quite far down in the results, I am misled as a beginner. I also selected that I have a fairly old #computer and yet distributions that no longer support 32-bit were recommended to me quite high up.

The idea is good. The implementation lacks a weighting of the questions for the result and an update of the database.

A #Linux #guide found on Reddit …

(If you can't see the graphic above click here: https://www.imgbly.com/ib/8EJZTHekDZ.jpg )

Overall, I find the guide too extensive and therefore too confusing for #newbies. #Mac users are downgraded, which I would not do.

As you may know, I am currently working on a guide for Linux newbies and am looking for #inspiration.

1) How do you like this guide?
2) Is an important #distribution or sector missing?
3) Which sections would you summarize or exclude?
4) What is your favorite distribution?

I look forward to your answers and help in the comments :°)

I am currently working on a #guide for choosing a #Linux #distribution ...

During an #internet search on the subject, I found this graphic, which I find quite neat.

First of all, the graphic is quite old because nobody would still recommend these distributions today:
* Centos
* Apricity OS
* Antergos

Do you like the graphic and how it divides the distributions for different target groups?
Should the selection be larger and more specific?
Should everything be even more compact and straightforward?

Please let me know what you think and what your favorite distribution is in the comments.

Could a native/fluent #german speaker help me to understand the difference between "lebe" und "wohnen".

I'm using a lot of digital media right now to learn German on my own. Specifically:

  • Duolingo - I love this app. It makes learning fun and it's great at building the foundation of the language (well, it seems to anyway).
  • Google Translate - My everyday go to when I want to see how I would say something.
  • DeepL Translate - I'm told it's the best translation for German/English
  • I've also tried using AI but it's stupid AF and will change it's statement depending on the way the wind blows.

In Addition, I am listening to podcasts like "News in Slow German" and "Coffee Break German".

While listening to "the Coffee Break German today" I became very confused when they were using sentences using "wohnen" instead of "lebe", which all the digital media seem to prefer.

So my questions are:

  1. Is it OK to say "Ich Komme aus Amerika, aber jetz lebe ich in Tschechien" like most digital media tend to suggest, or should I use "Ich komme aus Amerika, aber jetzt wohne ich in Tschechien" as was said on the podcast by a native... This is super confusing for me.
  2. In General, should I not trust digital media for learning (assuming the later sentence was the correct one). I really want to believe in the digital media because it makes things super easy for me :)

Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

Danke!

There seems to be a bug in the mobile version of the diaso.org

When I click on the icon on the top left corner, I used to get to the settings and options, now it just reloads the same page

There is no way of changing the mobile settings in Firefox when I access m.diaap.org

And of course, the old problem of changing the scope of the posts to *Public" for every post is still there (no problem in desktop version or if I change the access to www.diasp.org

I am currently trying to learn German on my own. I was hoping someone could suggest some German songs to help me learn German.

I've listened to EinsturzendeNeubauten since I was 18, so I've started listing to them again. "Ein Stuhl in der Hölle" is a perfect example of what I'm looking for.

I've also discovered the song "Wir tanzen im Viereck" from another band (Stereo Total?) which is very funny and repetitive.

Can anyone please suggest some good songs. Preferably where the German is not very complicated (I'm just trying to get to A1 level now) and not songs for children (unless it's actually nice).

I think I need to set up a #VPN. Which would you recommend, and why? The considerations are the obvious ones: speed, privacy, reliability, ease of use and cost.

It would be quite useful to be able to install it on my router to cover all devices that use the broadband, and optionally to install it on my iPhone as well.

I’m in UK, if that makes a difference.
